Anyway again thank you for covering these phones and I generally agree with your choices. There's a few I thought maybe it should have gone the other way, but I think you did a fantastic job
I have bought samsug Galaxy s23 and i am too satisfied. my last iphone was iphone 12 and then i decided that i will never buy iphone. i would not take it if someone would give me as a gift
11:44 I would disagree. The Pixel is showing way more detail and colors in the trees and other darker parts of the scenery. Just another choice of exposure. You could say the Pixel has more dynamic range if you prefer to see more of the landscape instead of the very center of the sun. In this case, I prefer the Pixel one, it made the right choice. 11:55 The iPhone over HDR'ed the outside window. The Pixel looks more realistic. The iPhone image just flattened out/filled in all the highlights, and so did the Samsung. It's all filled with blue, while the Pixel at least shows you the buildings and the sky and what separates them.
Totally agree with your comment. You can summarize results by saying that; 1) if you want beautified image. Go for Samsung 2) if you want iphone style images( with yellow tint) go for iphone 3) and if you are happy with your original skin tone and want more realistic images. Go for pixel
I disagree about 11:55 the detail in the buildings in the background adds to the image. These are not portrait images, background matters as much as the foreground.
Released atleast 6/7 months before all the other phones, S23 seems to be the clear winner and in a market where bulk of the consumers want a social media ready camera in their phone, S23 crushes that part.
IT is good to see someone doing the camera comparison of the devices that more number of people are gonna buy(the base variants)...Really insightful, keep it up... but I'd love to see more detailed video it felt a little rushed...can you guys do that? And please change the video description...
I would choose the pixel but improve the AWB adding small warm tone to the picture processing...The cool tone is just so dull and not fun to post straight without editing
Please add more landscape photos the next time. Most phone reviers don't care about that but when you don't live in a city or do landscape photography this is SO important. Samsung colors are often way too saturated and make the scenery look fake. Especially the green tones are often off.
Lovely review / Lovely reviewer ......I had waited since Pixel 4 to go back to a Pixel, and am very happy with my Pixel 8P....not just for the natural pictures, but for the overall user-experience.....most-often one-handed no problem, even with protective case.
watching from the galaxy s23! I love this amazing piece of tech. The problem with the Pixel is its processor. It heats up a lot during normal usage itself which makes it so bad. The iphone , it has 60hz which is not acceptable in 2023 so I went for s23 and I am happy now. The battery life is awesome in this phone. For me S23 is a clear winner
Very good review (with good humour)! You have your honest opinion in each category and say specifically what you're looking for. I really enjoyed watching it. (As a 23 Ultra user, I can only agree with you on the strengths and weaknesses that you mentioned about this phone.)
I think Samsung had mostly the best results, and I am impressed with the Iphone, I thought it would be worse. I actually thought that the Pixel was going to be better
I seriously don't understand why the Samsung gets less points for being the prettiest shot and tagged as social media ready. I mean isn't that why we take shots most of the time these days? And if one has the time to edit shots to suits a particular style then the Samsung has a Pro mode for that. So, if per personal preferences one chooses a default style over another, I don't think it should cost another phone some points unless it lacks the basics, and the shot is just not as good.
A super over exposed picture isn't pretty, it tends to look unprofessional in most scenarios... As if you took the picture with an Snapchat or an Instagram filter. Also, objectively speaking, sometimes the S23 has worse dynamic range than the others or just blows out the detail in some parts of the picture. You can kind of avoid this using the Pro Mode, but if we are gonna talk about point and shoot, it just isn't the best compared to the rest (not to mention some shutter lag problems that Samsung phones have).
@ihuntergtx5014 I considered these hence I said once a phone gets the basics right then the argument shouldn't be thay it looks Instagram ready. That is simply it's processing style
Full agreed. Its thats why i dislieks all video on this channel. Verry biased channel. Samsung not the best sometimes minimal oversaturated but its more natural on ipgone and white ballance pixel shit. This not fair channel on samsung. And we see this on a pictures who wins. S23U just the best in most situations.
I really enjoyed this one. All the phones take fantastic photos. Keep up the good work! As you mentioned at the beginning, it’s all a matter of preference.

Samsung is great for someone who posts regularly on social media, Google is for people enjoying environment and natural images and Apple for those enjoy portrait images. When s24 releases, I'm sure it will catch up or even do better. All 3 are good phones and depends on your use case
Seems like I made the right choice getting the Pixel 8. I just watched another video where it destroyed the other two phones in a battery drain test😂. Nice video!
Great video, though I must disagree with you on the Starbucks shot and saying there was not a clear winner. The iPhone shot was the sharpest by far and looked the best. Samsung seems to over saturate photos, it was near the end of the video where you picked the Samsung video as the best of the three, yet your face was way over saturated and had a reddish/ orangish tint to it ? Finally, Samsung seems over digitize their photos to the point where you lose details in the background. An excellent example is when you are standing by the bridge and it’s clear that the details of the bridge are smoothed over. I have always liked how pixel images are more natural and show how things actually appeared, rather than composing the image how the camera thinks it should look.
S23 Ultra is the direct competitor to iPhone 14 Pro Max while S24 Ultra will be the direct competitor to iPhone 15 pro Max. So yeah, S23 Ulta is still great, considering that it's already ahead of iPhone 14 Pro Max in photography while a near match in videography.
incorrect, s23 ultra is the direct competitor for the iphone 15 pro max and pixel 8 pro, samsung just release their phones earlier in the year while pixel and iphones release theirs later, they are all 2023 phones sir, iphone 14 lineups are 2022 phones, you can't compare it to a s23 ultra which is a 2023 released phone, it's competed by year, doesn't matter if one release it early or late within that year.
as a Galaxy s23 Ultra user I can say that phone annoyingly over exposes almost every photo. it's really frustrating. other than that cameras are great.
It can over-expose in some conditions for sure. Have you tried taking manual control of your exposure level even in auto mode?. I have, and it delivers stunning results, especially in places where you want to capture a darker image like in deep woodland pictures for example. Same for video.
Agreed. If the exposure value is increased or reduced ( on any phone) the results can be rather pleasing. IE if the scene is dark lower the exposure value by a few stops . If taking pictures of snow or anything white ( moreso on a sunny day ) increase the exposure value using the slider . I do this on my pixel and iPhone
In most conditions honestly. I do use exposure reduction slider often but it is not very user friendly and than it go back to auto after few sec.... if only there is some kind of control as in mirrorless camera like exposure compensation. I also tried lowering exposure in edit and result is also very good. but all of that is really additional work when they really should be able to make it not over expose images like that at the first place.@@neilmcguinness4422
9 times out of 10 where you said the iPhone was the best photo I was preferring the Samsung. More vibrant, sharper and background colours pop more. I was avoiding Samsung for years but this really sold me on getting an S23. Excellent comparison. Wish people did more audio capture comparisons. Thanks
Just ordered a pixel 8 pro replacing my long lived but needing to retire LG V40. Im looking forward to it. I still wish LG wouldn't have left the high end market, but hoping i'll love the Pixel.
I have the same V 40, I know the 8 pro is so good on the software experience, won't you miss the DAC since you go for phone with no audio jack. I have beyerdymanic dt770 pro 80 ohm to listen music with my LG, need to replace the aging beast.
Lovely comparision! I'm choosing exactly between these three right now and what I take into account the most is a camera quality, so it is super-helpful for me :) Thanks and greetings from Poland ;)
I chose S23, mainly because of the price (that's way cheaper than an Iphone here on Brazil), and Pixel isn't available here, so not much of a choice. I think that for people's photos, Iphone 15 does a better job, while for landscapes pictures, S23 is better.
This woman is more accurate than other versus reviewers. Although I won't lie that it is a bit disappoint that you always give a point to galaxy just because for it's enchance filter effect. Other than that is all good. But I never thought Iphone would have such a bad video in this comparison. At low light, it is losing a lot of detail in the ground and more. Many reviewers saying that iphone tends to be the best lowlight videography.
Great clip here. I see all the great things with each camera. They all look great > It's all subjective. I see photos where the I phone looks better > then some of them the Pixel looks better and some where the Samsung looks better. Who cares. Choose whatever phone you like.
I feel like the three are soooo close overall but it depends on your use preferences. The Samsung seems way over saturated but it works in certain situations. The best part of the video is your comprehensive evaluation which really leads to no clear winner. The distance details at night of the iPhone were impressive and the natural colors of the Pixel make sense if that's what you like. For specific postings you can enhance saturation and color temp with some simple programs. I'm going through all my old photos at this time and it's depressing how bad some of my pictures came out. Some can be helped but most are just bad. Thanks again for a great video 🤗
I'd use an extended stereo bar (audio equipment for microphones, K&M 23560) and screw phone holders on it. It has the advantage that it can hold three smartphones in landscape mode.
Hi! I have seen some of your videos and I really liked them. I am having doubts because I am looking for a mobile phone with a camera similar to that of the iPhone in quality and style, but that is Android. My budget is €550, and I was between the Xiaomi 14, the 14t and the 13t, but none of them convince me. I have also looked at the Samsung S23 and the Pixel 8, but I wanted to ask you what mobile phones you recommend for that price and with a camera similar to that of the iPhone. The battery is also important to me, but above all I use the mobile phone for social media, not video games and such.
@patricial9473 well, pixel always had greatest cameras in the android world, plus most of the times they outperform iphone pro models too (look at mkbhd 2023 camera awards), but if you need it for social media then you should probably look for samsung as it tries to compete with iphone for delivering exact same experience in social media plus s23 pics are social media ready, I would have happily bought a pixel because they drop their prices like crazy but their biggest flawa is that tensor processor that heats up and kills your ongoing and background task, another of its flaw is poor network coverage, one can let go of the processor issue if they dont do heavy tasking but network reception is the most basic and imp task that a phone has to perform, therefore I bought the S23, Samsung One UI plus the Snapdragon 8gen2 always outperforms pixel, In Short, Pixel = A good camera but a compromise with the performance/experience of owning a phone..............S23 = contrasty/not natural pics but is good in every department of Smartphone world plus I dont buy Iphone coz I dont have the money, I like to buy old gen flagships because they still got the updates left and deliver the flagship performance under my budget, in todays pricing you can pick iphone 13 that sells a little high than s23 and pixel 8 but doesnt make sense unless you are an apple fanboy, if you have that much money I would suggest to wait for iphone 17 coz i heard the rumour there are major changes in the design and features Hope this helps!!
Thank you for this excellent review of these cameras! These basic models are what I have to choose from in the "Free" category from my provider, so this review hit the bullseye in terms of exactly what I was looking for. My wife is interested in moving to the iPhone...I'm going with my first Pixel. Thanks
Your assessment is right on the photos… but I’ll say this: in today’s digital cell phone photography style photos… I feel Samsungs photos look more like an actual photo. Looking at these photos you took, the iPhone and pixel photos look like typical cell phone shots while the Samsung photos look like it was an older actual camera taking them. Not sure how to explain it but the Samsung shots are more pleasing.
Why is there always such a big focus on portraits in these kind of videos? Almost no chance to see the phones performance at normal photos. I rarely do portraits and when i do it it's mostly just for fun or in a more special moment. Also would be nice to include more information about the camera settings and modes used for the examples.
iPhone has more natural sound. Despite noise it sounds more pleasure for me. Liked natural colours for landscape made by iPhone. On other hand both Pixel and Galaxy have nice shots as well, but colours for Galaxy is more artificial overall. IPhone is better for me.
Nunca habia visto un video tan técnico en el tema de fotografía, gracias por eso, saludo desde Medellín Colombia 🎉🎉🎉.. felicidades eres una mujer muy bella
S23 since the IPhone 15 has the iPhone 14 pro camera that the regular IPhone 14 doesn’t Have .. Also i wouldnt take an s22 who has exynos cpu not good at all compared to S23 snapdragon gen 3
I have chosen iPhone 15 although I believe Pixel 8 makes great photo like Pixel 7 which I used before buying iPhone. Camera in this phone are great but the way I can watch them is also important. Apple TV and iCloud gives me just much better quality to watch my photos and videos on 4K tv. Google chromecast does not support 4K and video is very heavily compressed so the choice was simple.
Just so you know the colour science of iphone prefers fair skin incase of human potraits and samsung prefrers less fairer or darker skin . Pixel has worked a lot in updating their algon for diff skin tones so usually they take good photos of diff skins. The company's global selling market regions are a reason behind this. All of them have improved a lot in the last 3 4 yrs though.if you see the iphone 11 12 and their samsung counterparts this colour science is more prominent there. But truth is all these can be easily fixed in the camera edit app be it google photos or samsung editor
Thanks for making that observation. I am olive skinned tone, and in experimenting with the Samsung vs IPhone, I’ve noticed that I look horrendous in iPhone selfies as it adds unnatural dark shades and tones on my face making me look decades older. On the other hand, the Samsung camera is more flattering to my skin coloring and complexion, making me look years younger. I have been using Samsung cellphones for 10 years, and was thinking of switching to an iPhone 15 this year, just to try something new, but honestly, after seeing these selfies, I think I’m going to have to purchase a Samsung S23 instead.
As a pixel user I can confirm the photos are just natural with colour correction

I have the same V 40, I know the 8 pro is so good on the software experience, won't you miss the DAC since you go for phone with no audio jack.
I have beyerdymanic dt770 pro 80 ohm to listen music with my LG, need to replace the aging beast.
I love the oversaturated vibrant colors on the Samsung. Straight away for posting. The video award is for the iPhone anyway.
Lovely comparision! I'm choosing exactly between these three right now and what I take into account the most is a camera quality, so it is super-helpful for me :) Thanks and greetings from Poland ;)
Which one is the best in taking photos of moving objects (e.g. a cat ;)) indoor? Pixel or iPhone?
Самсунг 😂
Could you go over camera settings for the s23
I chose S23, mainly because of the price (that's way cheaper than an Iphone here on Brazil), and Pixel isn't available here, so not much of a choice. I think that for people's photos, Iphone 15 does a better job, while for landscapes pictures, S23 is better.
Where's the previous guy?
Which camara and lence you're using to shoot videos
THANK YOU, NEEDED THIS. Presently buying a new phone and needed to see the differences coming from a Full-time Content Creator:)
No-one is perfect, we have to adjust with the conditions pretty well❤
Easily the best camera comparison video i've ever seen you've just gained a new subscriber!
This is what we needed! But you missed the cinematic and action/super steady mode.
Don't forget to turn off scene optimiser in samsung s23
Is this over-exposure problem due Samsung hardware? Can be be fixed (by Samsung)? Or by some app?
Brief but to the point comparison . Good Work 😊
this has to be the best camera comparison video of these 3 phones.
Thanks baby'o you cleared a lot of air around all 3 phones🎉
Absolutely incredible, amazing test. ❤❤ I agree with every point. 🎉
FINALLY! Video that is not biased towards the iPhone 👍🏻 very honest
💯
Thoroughly enjoyed every bits of it!
Anyone know where to pickup the 3 camera mount that is used in the video?
I'd use an extended stereo bar (audio equipment for microphones, K&M 23560) and screw phone holders on it.
It has the advantage that it can hold three smartphones in landscape mode.
@GerritSchulze appreciate the info!
@patricial9473 well, pixel always had greatest cameras in the android world, plus most of the times they outperform iphone pro models too (look at mkbhd 2023 camera awards), but if you need it for social media then you should probably look for samsung as it tries to compete with iphone for delivering exact same experience in social media plus s23 pics are social media ready, I would have happily bought a pixel because they drop their prices like crazy but their biggest flawa is that tensor processor that heats up and kills your ongoing and background task, another of its flaw is poor network coverage, one can let go of the processor issue if they dont do heavy tasking but network reception is the most basic and imp task that a phone has to perform, therefore I bought the S23, Samsung One UI plus the Snapdragon 8gen2 always outperforms pixel, In Short, Pixel = A good camera but a compromise with the performance/experience of owning a phone..............S23 = contrasty/not natural pics but is good in every department of Smartphone world
plus I dont buy Iphone coz I dont have the money, I like to buy old gen flagships because they still got the updates left and deliver the flagship performance under my budget, in todays pricing you can pick iphone 13 that sells a little high than s23 and pixel 8 but doesnt make sense unless you are an apple fanboy, if you have that much money I would suggest to wait for iphone 17 coz i heard the rumour there are major changes in the design and features
Hope this helps!!
Lmao
this is one of the best comparisons I've seen in a while
good job 👍
Thanks for watching and for your support!
which is best for travel vlogging ?
Why is there always such a big focus on portraits in these kind of videos? Almost no chance to see the phones performance at normal photos. I rarely do portraits and when i do it it's mostly just for fun or in a more special moment. Also would be nice to include more information about the camera settings and modes used for the examples.
People with friends usually take many portraits
@@imbaZarkout So? Just because of that nature/street/architecture photography isn't less important.
We always try to include a good mixture so that we can accommodate to every type of user. Thanks for your feedback, we’ll keep it in mind! 😊
@@imbaZarkout I don't have friends 🙂... Hence I pay more attention to picture details of landscape and architecture photos.
Which camera do you use to shoot this video
My kingdom for a phone that excels in every area. It almost amuses me that the technology exists to be great at all but no phone achieves it.
iPhone has more natural sound. Despite noise it sounds more pleasure for me. Liked natural colours for landscape made by iPhone. On other hand both Pixel and Galaxy have nice shots as well, but colours for Galaxy is more artificial overall. IPhone is better for me.
Wow, what a lively camera comparison. Bring this charming lady more, please!
This is a really well-done video!
Nunca habia visto un video tan técnico en el tema de fotografía, gracias por eso, saludo desde Medellín Colombia 🎉🎉🎉.. felicidades eres una mujer muy bella
What type of camera you using to make this video
Nice video thank you!
thank you !! Really cool
which camera is she using in the beginning of the video?
S23 is silent killer ❤
I want to buy a new phone which phone do you recommend for camera S22 ultra refurbished and S23 and iPhone 14 ?
S23 since the IPhone 15 has the iPhone 14 pro camera that the regular IPhone 14 doesn’t Have ..
Also i wouldnt take an s22 who has exynos cpu not good at all compared to S23 snapdragon gen 3
Great video vry helpful ..😊
I have chosen iPhone 15 although I believe Pixel 8 makes great photo like Pixel 7 which I used before buying iPhone. Camera in this phone are great but the way I can watch them is also important. Apple TV and iCloud gives me just much better quality to watch my photos and videos on 4K tv. Google chromecast does not support 4K and video is very heavily compressed so the choice was simple.
I tended to agree on pretty much all points. I currently use the Pixel 8.
Good video, Very informative. Thanks lady!
Google pixels are amazing. Samsung need to reduce the saturation of the images. The sky always looks fake. The iPhone is ok generally.
Any suggestions out of P8 and S23, considering going to use for video content for you youtube!
This was a great phone review! 👍

Excellent video, thanks
