Let's be clear; app makers have always optimized their apps for IOS and done the worst with Android that's why social media images and videos have looked the worst on various platforms, but reviewers don't talk about that and most just don't know that. I miss it, but just hard to get out of apple again, both for ecosystem and how much more effort developers put into making apps for iOS over android. Almost every app looks and works better on iPhone. Also the 16 pro max battery life is unreal. Those are to two main things that’s holding me back from going back to pixel 9.
Next year Apple will blow the competition out of the water by making the camera button bigger and wider, and powered by 120Hz touch sensitivity. Watch this space.
The hardware with the new Pixel devices however similar it might be to the modern iPhones. Is very good, there's a few things that I wish they would change with the software but for the most part they really knocked it out of the park with their lineup this year.
Almost bought the Pixel because of its look and cool camera capability until I watched reviews. I settled on Oneplus 12 and never regreted it. I hope Pixel can implement fast charging. More than an hour of charging is not fast charging. Pixel needs to change their chipset to a more powerful one. Flagship phones should not be only good in cameras but with performance with games as well. This is just my opinion though.
Great Video.. I love my Pixel 9 PXL too much, but i am a content creator, and none can beat Iphone's video quality yet, so i have to keep both alongside with me all day..
I want a new phone for content creation, mainly video. The problem is I'm not going to switch from Android. Between pixel 9 pro and S24 ultra what do you recommend?
@ S24 Ultra in your case would be better, as Pixel takes the best photos, but still lack in videos but S24 Ultra is good in videos. Overally Iphone 16 Pro Max is the best phone out there for videos only, that cannot be denied!!!
I seen a few tik tok videos of a girl saying she had to return the pro xl because it wasn't connecting to any of her bluetooth devices and her screen would freeze nonetop 😮
Very informative as it looks like I'm switching from Samsung brands due to pricing. I feel more confident about the switch even though you were comparing this to an iPhone.
I was at the store today and played with the Google pixel 9 pro xl and iPhone 16 pro max honestly I was more impressed by the pixel 9 pro xl, it seems very premium compared to my pixel 8 pro. But I really like the 16 pro max’s size and it also feels very premium as well, plus the battery is better. I'm torn between which one i wanna get lol, the pixel 9 Pro xl or iPhone 16 pro max or the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. I’m currently using 15 pro max and pixel 8 pro as my daily drivers lol.
In my experience the Pixel 9 Pro is better than the 2 S24 Ultras devices that I tried this year. Both had heat buildup issues so bad I couldn't use them outdoors in direct sunlight for longer than 7 minutes before the screen dimmed to the point I could barely see what was on the screen. I've never had that issue before with any Samsung device. I wonder if the new titanium chassis is as efficient at heat dissipation as the aluminum was. I don't play games on my phone so for what I do the Pixel is an excellent device.
I dont know much about the exynos modem, but the iphone 15 pro had the x70 and 16 pro has the x71. I think iphones antennas are the problem! my samsungs ALWAYS have better signal than my flagship iphone! Please run this basement test side-by-side with the s24 ultra too! (S24u is x75, and s25u the x80 modem). Android has the best antenna/modem pairs i think
I got the 9 Pro XL, it's my first ever Pixel phone. It is hands down one of the most enjoyable phone experiences I've had since the Galaxy Note 7 (before it caught fire) such a fantastic piece of kit
@ nice thinking about switching from the iPhone 15 Pro Max to the pixel 9 Pro XL it’s been a few years since I used a pixel device. The only reason I got an iPhone is because most of my family and my kids use iPhone so it makes it easy.
i have had the google pixel 9 pro for three days coming from a flagship samsung. im still getting used to it and where everything is. i did indeed get the completely wrong phone for my use case however but i wanted to give the pixel 9 pro a shot because i got fed up with samsungs. i dont really use the camera on my phone no matter how good it is. i dont care for AI at all. i dont like gestures. yes completely wrong phone for my use case. the phone is fantastic, its finally nice to have a phone that has a thumbprint scanner that for me is bulletproof and never fails on me, this feature alone is why i love this phone. the phone is smaller than my old flagship samsung and i prefer that, fits in my pockets much better and it isn't a behemoth to hold. the phone is very very much brighter outside which is also a plus. one of my only gripes with it so far is the fact that the back button and clear apps button are completely on the wrong side by default with no option to change that. the back button was always on the right side not the left for most if not all android phones. i like buttons, im simple. ''well just use gestures, the phone is better that way'' not for me, again, wrong phone for my use case but il have to get used to that. my other gripe is the fact that it overheats in games after 10-15 minutes and then im stuck below 10 fps. i turn on the show fps counter to see why and when it drops to that. the chip struggles or i have a lemon. anyway this is quite a ramble but alas i love the phone for the most part so i will stick with it and pray that it only improves with software updates.
Must be a seasonal thing for you and I as I too am contemplating returning back to the Pixel..........again. My 16 Pro Max I noticed does some weird things. For example, 2 houses have the same SSID and password. I did this purposely so I would not have to redo the SSID in the new house. When I get to the new house, the Iphone constantly goes in and out of wifi. Connects and then disconnects. Also winds up messing with my Homekit too as a result. I have to forget the wifi and then rejoin. Happens every time. However, one thing that does prevail in Apple is the Apple Watch. Wish the notifications were better in the Pixel watch.
I love my 9 ProXL but I'm really excited for the switch to the new chip manufacturer and that the chip architecture will now be the same used by Apple. Google is really showing they're taking this seriously and its much appreciated.🦈
🦈Thank you for your fair review. As a new subscriber, I think giving a review after a prolonged use of the devices makes more sense! I wish I could afford any of those devices🤣
I really loved the contrast pixel 9 pro rose quartz color gives to your shooting setting. it's fun and expressive. Gives me joy. iphone it's colourful but only on UI. apple should paint their logo rainbow to signal apple intelligence features.
🦈 Hey man, I'm really torn between iphone and Pixel tbh. I've been an android fanboy all my life but iphone's stability and eco system is really tempting. At the same time, I think I'll struggle with basic tasks in ios. I'm still thinking about waiting for the Homegrown TensorG5 processor next year. Really glad to see that Google is catching up with the peers.
I've been with Android for 13 years. My last 2 phones have been pixel 6 pro and Samsung s23+ My aweful experience with s23 is what pushed me to iphone 16pro. So far..... I miss Android.....BADLY. ESPECIALLY Pixel phones! This has nothing to do with getting used to IOS. IOS is just aweful with a lot of things such as keyboard and the back gesture which is not a universal system unlike Android. These 2 issues alone is driving me insane. My old pixel 6 pro (3 years old) takes FAR superior still photos but the video on the iPhone is unbelievably good, best I ever seen. I got the iPhone for the stability but I can't help slightly disappointed a bit. So far it's more stable than any Android phone I used. No app crashing etc but the UI does stutter here and there and it doesn't feel like 120Hz feels more like 90Hz. Also it doesn't always respond to touch. Considering this is the sole reason I bought the phone for, I can't help feel very disappointed. But I have faith these will be patched up. Phone calls are much clearer on iPhone and MUCH better Network signal. Overall; I got the iPhone for its longevity and that's something I can't test right now. But as things stand right now, I'm not too impressed and sometimes I wish I got the pixel 9pro. If you want to know anything else lemme omow.
Can we all just stop saying the iPhone is titanium? There is about 5% titanium, the rest is aluminum. So the 14 Pro was the last phone with more premium materials, it was all stainless steel. Apple has somehow convinced everyone they were getting more premium materials than the 14 Pro, but in reality they were getting less for their money.
Just to clarify: games like Warzone mobile weren’t really optimised for mobile. Even on iPhone 15 base models, my phone heats up quite a bit and on Roblox, whenever I reach like 31%, the frame are just gets so choppy. It’s not lag but framerate. Games like CODM would probably run very smoothly on the pixel. So I’m planning to switch my iPhone another 3-5 years to a pixel.
It’s not really that Warzone mobile isn’t optimized, it’s JUST demanding. It’s a game that requires texture streaming and high resolution assets and it’s built on the same engine as the console/ PC version of Call of Duty.
Must be nice. Google doesn’t sell phones in New Zealand. You can get them from Australia, but you will lack overall warranty or you go buy from a nz website, but paying shed loads more. Easier to stay on iPhone here
Such a pain in the ass getting in in NZ, and online retailers like MightyApe only stocks Japanese variant, I have a friend coming back from Aus so will be getting mine though.
Well, the mobile market is at a standstill in developing, today you get a budget phone for $300 which is not far from these flagships for $1500, I would never have bought a pixel 9 pro xl if it wasn't for them selling it with a subscription here that made that you basically got the phone for free.
Apple has been sitting on its laurels for too long.....and it is showing. I am certainly considering the 16 Pro Max or the 16 Pro, as a replacement for my 12 Pro Max, but lately, I am seriously looking at the Pixel Pro 9 XL. I am fully into the Apple ecosystem (iPAD pro, MacBook Pro, Airpods, iPhone etc) but probably time to rethink things, because Apple has been extra lazy the past few years.
Here is my thoughts: I’m after 10000 Lr DNG photos on my iPhone 12 and 15 Pro Max 1000 photos. Lightroom app has more natural highlights that not grayish. ProRAW doesn’t. They turn into gray after bringing them down. Native iPhone cam takes dark photos, not always but for most scenarios, with brighter exposure I have it too. Warm roads, white is yellow. Really weird unnatural colors but video is perfect that no one beat it. I move to Pixel because I’m bored and tired or sticking with the brand that doesn’t treat good its workers and also policy where you get 60Hz in 799$ smartphone without Pro Mode while 200$ have it. Also new Mac mini has no 512gb. That is disrespectful towards us consumers but I understand someone buy it not looking at price quality. It’s just the preference.
@@valismind i bought the prx. I like you started at seiko, then i got a hamilton field khaki (amazing) then moved to a prx, and now i have a speedmaster, so actually i ended up going down a similar route as you. Almost every app looks and works better on iPhone. Also the 16 pro max battery life is unreal. Those are to two main things that’s holding me back from going back to pixel 9.
Yeah, it’s tough sometimes. There’s def benefits to both. Committing is hard. I do carry two phones, but personal sim in Pixel has been nice.
You got the wallpaper link?
Maybe after 7 years, Apple’s intelligence will be useful, just like how they improved Siri for the last 15 years.
😂😂😂😂😂
And gemini would light years ahead of apple intelligence 😂
Siri's name should be changed to Karen.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Next year Apple will blow the competition out of the water by making the camera button bigger and wider, and powered by 120Hz touch sensitivity. Watch this space.
I sold my iPhone after using the Pixel 9 series. It's just that good.
Finally a Canadian review that helps make a choice. All I see on TH-cam are either US or UK reviews which doesn't give us the Canadian perspective . 🦈
Thanks for watching, nice to see some fellow Canadians here :) appreciate the comment
How is it possible to set the Pixel camera to show ,5, 1x, 2x, 5x? My P9P shows me UW, W, T.
Hi did you turn on VoWifi in your iPhone ? You should not have problem with reception inlets you do not have WiFi signal over there as well.
I don’t have internet there yet unfortunately
Did the size difference bother you?
I was surprised by lightroom as well on the 9xl coming from an 8 pro. Great review. 🦈
Not being able to change font (without rooting) on Pixel makes it a non-starter for me.
Can you get rid of the Google search bar at the bottom? (I also hate using 3rd party launchers). Can’t stand having it there. Never use it.
No!
Same! I hate that search bar
Good on you. You made the right choice 🎉🎉
🙏🙏
🦈🦈🦈 really tempted to switch to P9P during my next upgrade. Have an iPhone 15+.
@@DubaiiDiaries from what I've seen the iPhone videos are great. Thanks for the advice!
Where do I get that controller?
Backbone
I seen a few tik tok videos of a girl saying she had to return the pro xl because it wasn't connecting to any of her bluetooth devices and her screen would freeze nonetop 😮
Very informative as it looks like I'm switching from Samsung brands due to pricing. I feel more confident about the switch even though you were comparing this to an iPhone.
What about call quality issue and wifi issue???
Wi-Fi issues are all fixed with the 9 and 9 pro
If the App Library is confusing because it’s alphabetical the problem isn’t the phone 😮
One thing that every review seems to not mention is the fact that Android apps are available on multiple stores. This is a huge benefit.
Please what mic is that?
I got the 9 Pro XL, it's my first ever Pixel phone. It is hands down one of the most enjoyable phone experiences I've had since the Galaxy Note 7 (before it caught fire) such a fantastic piece of kit
what phone did you come from
@Infamouskillah this year I've had the OnePlus Open, S24U, Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Z Fold 6
@ nice thinking about switching from the iPhone 15 Pro Max to the pixel 9 Pro XL it’s been a few years since I used a pixel device. The only reason I got an iPhone is because most of my family and my kids use iPhone so it makes it easy.
Bought it yesterday, confirmed my thoughts ty. 🦈
i have had the google pixel 9 pro for three days coming from a flagship samsung. im still getting used to it and where everything is. i did indeed get the completely wrong phone for my use case however but i wanted to give the pixel 9 pro a shot because i got fed up with samsungs. i dont really use the camera on my phone no matter how good it is. i dont care for AI at all. i dont like gestures. yes completely wrong phone for my use case.
the phone is fantastic, its finally nice to have a phone that has a thumbprint scanner that for me is bulletproof and never fails on me, this feature alone is why i love this phone. the phone is smaller than my old flagship samsung and i prefer that, fits in my pockets much better and it isn't a behemoth to hold. the phone is very very much brighter outside which is also a plus. one of my only gripes with it so far is the fact that the back button and clear apps button are completely on the wrong side by default with no option to change that. the back button was always on the right side not the left for most if not all android phones. i like buttons, im simple.
What is the gaming controller called ??
Gamesir G8 Plus
🦈Thank you for your fair review. As a new subscriber, I think giving a review after a prolonged use of the devices makes more sense! I wish I could afford any of those devices🤣
Ahahah, yeah phones are getting expensivvveeee these days. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Still love my P8P.....may change to P9P if black Friday trade in deals can't be resisted
I lost Pixel 9 Pro XL in train, I was going next day and I buy Pixel 9 Pro, have the same options, only a bit smaller. Both are the same at quality!
I really loved the contrast pixel 9 pro rose quartz color gives to your shooting setting. it's fun and expressive. Gives me joy.
iphone it's colourful but only on UI. apple should paint their logo rainbow to signal apple intelligence features.
It really is and I feel the same way!
High quality content. Good stuff.
New subscriber here!
Thank you!!!!!
I switched from iPhone 15 Pro to Pixel 9 Pro and no regrerts.

Hey man, I'm really torn between iphone and Pixel tbh. I've been an android fanboy all my life but iphone's stability and eco system is really tempting. At the same time, I think I'll struggle with basic tasks in ios. I'm still thinking about waiting for the Homegrown TensorG5 processor next year. Really glad to see that Google is catching up with the peers.
Both suck get an Ultra
@@DENVEROUTDOORMANsamsung is what pushed me to iphone. Constant charging issues. Pixel and iPhone is far superior
I've been with Android for 13 years. My last 2 phones have been pixel 6 pro and Samsung s23+
My aweful experience with s23 is what pushed me to iphone 16pro.
I went from a pixel 2 to a Samsung (got a good discount) and it makes me sad every time I think about it
🦈 first time viewer, great stuff! Subscribed!
can u please share the link to gadget used for playing game on iphone
It’s the Gamesir G8 Plus!
Heard November update has fixed lense switching in video mode of pixel.. Can someone confirm?
I’ll have to check, ill come back to it in a video
Can we all just stop saying the iPhone is titanium? There is about 5% titanium, the rest is aluminum. So the 14 Pro was the last phone with more premium materials, it was all stainless steel.
Apple has somehow convinced everyone they were getting more premium materials than the 14 Pro, but in reality they were getting less for their money.
You need adaptive brightness on to hit peak brightness fyi
@ hmm maybe
How is the speaker volume? I like to walk without buds or headphones and listen to music.
Here is my thoughts:
I’m after 10000 Lr DNG photos on my iPhone 12 and 15 Pro Max 1000 photos.
Watching this on a pixel 9 right now and this phone is AMAZING
Wait I thought you were a big Samsung s 24 ultra guy what happened to that
Gotta up your watch game tho, seiko is ehh. Go get a swiss made watch, like a hamilton, or a tissot, or an omega
I like Seiko, a speed master is on the radar, and I was contemplating a PRX, but idk.
@@valismind i bought the prx. I like you started at seiko, then i got a hamilton field khaki (amazing) then moved to a prx, and now i have a speedmaster, so actually i ended up going down a similar route as you. Prx is amazing if you get an automatic, the quartz is kinda whatever. But the hammilton is definately the better watch of the 2 because it keeps time better and its noticeably higher quality with more premium materials. But after getting the speedmaster i obviously dont wear anything else.
The widgets suck in comparison with ios. Also I don’t think google summarises notifications
Can you share ur wallpaper
🦈 I keep making the same arguments to my family and friends (all of them are iphone users) in vain. Great review.
There you go 🦈
Ordered my Pixel 9 pro a month ago. Keeps getting delayed.
Picking mine up tomorrow
🦈 Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Keep up the good work. Loving my Pixel 9 pro xl. Upgraded from a Pixel 7.
🦈 thx for reassuring me with buying the Pixel 9 pro. :D
Pixel 9 pro vs S24 Ultra vs iphone 16.. which one to buy??
Pixel 9 pro is the most intelligent phone useful in some areas s24 ultra for multitasking and gaming since it has a better processor snapadragon 8 gen 3 for galaxy in the usa iphone 16 pro max if you into ios and video quality
Please share that red-purplish wallpaper. Link please.
If only the Pixel had a SD8 G3/ Elite. Say what you want but the tensor performs like a 4 years old😮 chip.
Gemini, particularly conversation mode, is better than ChatGPT.
This makes me want to snag the deal and jump from my 8 Pro to a 9 Pro!
It’s honestly a really good phone man I don’t think you’d regret it. Not that the 8 pro is bad, but this brings the polish up to a level I didn’t expect from Google.
This was a good video man, keep it up
Thank you!!! 🙏🙏
"HONEST" Review.
Review should allways be honest🙄
It just helps with SEO that’s all, haha. Don’t think too deep, I’m not large enough to make the titles I want yet, have to play the system :(
Ngl the clickbait title did make me click 😂
true, it 'should be', but far to many truly aren't honest though.
@@valismindIt worked good video
I appreciate the video, looking to upgrade from the iPhone 13 pro max...still undecided
I just upgraded from an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I’m loving it so far
Same i have the normal iphone 13 but now ios bores me after 2 years using it theres some things i miss from android the customizing and emulators from android
Surprisingly my s23 ultra never shuts down when it gets overheated unlike my 12 mini and xr
Could just be getting hot and not overheating
Anyone facing the battery draining issue?
Curious what you'd choose if you had to pick between Samsung or Google, what would you daily?🦈
🦈 Pixel 9 Pro is really impressive
google has done a fantastic job and they really optimize their chips so well coz they aint even high end I mean how impressive is that🦈
Now try a battery test on 5g
I love my pixel 9 pro and fold
Have the base pixel 9 256GB and it's a great phone... Ordered the 45mm pixel watch 3, glad that they made a bigger version
Great comparison, again I am more convinced to stay with the Pixels in the near future! Thank you and good luck with building your new studio. 🛠️
Great video bro, cheers 🥂
Dumped Samsung phones over their hardware issues. Bought the 8a, 9, and waiting for the 9Pro to be delivered.
