MY BEST 131ci BUILD YET

  • Alex had been planning his engine build combo for some time now & after much discussion between myself & Alex over Instagram tossing up different options, I finally decided to suggest what I thought was going to be the best combo for him.
    He had already had a CR483 Cam kit fitted & tuned previously, however due to a less than ideal tune, the bike was left running very poorly & left far from it's full potential as a Stage 2 Bike. Take a look for yourself just how bad it was running.
    I will link the TH-cam short to the 'Before Dyno runs & running condition of the bike here: • Keen to see how this o...
    Now running a 131ci Stage IV kit from Screamin' Eagle with the CR515 Camshaft from the A.P.E & Cycle-Rama collaboration, this Lowrider S packs A LOT OF PUNCH!
    Alex had purchased the Thunder Header X-Series 2-1 exhaust which I had great expectations of.
    It sure lived up the the hype online thats for sure!
    I would happily suggest this pipe to anyone considering it.
    Additionally, Alex added some Galfer Disc rotors on the front & rear, a new set of T-Bars, a Memphis Shades Fairing with smoked screen.

      H-D engineers set the max run-out to 12thou. Sitting just under 6 thou is nothing to worry about.

      Big bore kits running OEM flywheels are absolutely fine if just ridden around like a normal bike.

    What is your opinion to use gear drive instead of cam chain at 2024 Glides ?
    Better reliability?
    Next question is you didn't upgrade the copresator, fuel pump & cam plate ?

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Gear drive cams offer no benefits whatsoever other than removal of the chain tensioner. Even that is a debatable benefit.
      I assume you ment Compensator (your spelling was off)
      I installed a full billet steel, hardened Compensator ramp from Cycle-Rama.
      The OEM Cam plates, & latest 8 lobe oil pump from Harley-Davidson are more than capable of handling these applications.
      It's becoming very rare to fit aftermarket cam plates & oil pumps these days.
      Sure early on it was more popular due to the Sumping problems, but that's long since been rectified with the 8 lobe oil pump from Harley-Davidson introduced back in late 2019

    • @Rider_on_Indian
      @Rider_on_Indian 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Compensator is probably one of the first parts you have to upgrade to improve the reliability.
      What is the reason you didn't chose aluminium cam plate ?
      Billet plates have several advantages.
      An aftermarket fuel pump is better for stages 3,4,5..OEM will not handle well.
      Thanks for making videos , we all appreciate it.

    Any info you can provide will be appreciated. I want it to be quick off the line but manageable in the corners.

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Your bike currently has a 4-1/2" stroke. If you were to go down to a 4-3/8" stroke (107ci Models) you will be sacrificing displacement. If you go with a 4-5/8" stroke crank you will have more displacement for the same bore.
      Using a 4.310" bore as a reference, a 4-3/8 stroke will give you 128ci, with a 4-1/2 stroke will give you 131ci & finally the 4-5/8 stroke will give you 135ci.
      The CR515 works absolutely perfectly with the SE 131ci Stage IV kit with the comp ratio sitting at 10.7:1
      You can take the comp upto 12.0: in the 131ci Stage IV kit with a set of high comp pistons from CP Carrillo.
      If you decided to do that you should consider the CR550 Cam.

      @ihateemael assuming the bike is not yet tuned & just running the Slip On Screamin Eagle mufflers (which is fine). I would start with getting a tune.
      You'll need to select a tuning device. If your in Australia I suggest a Direct Link Key from Technoresearch.
      If you're in the US I suggest a Power Vision.
      You cam still opt for a Power Vision here in Aus too, but I prefer the Direct Link key.
      If just a dyno tune is not enough for you, I highly suggest a Stage 2 cam package & air filter upgrade. While your current exhaust system is OK, It will be holding back potential of a stg 2 kit.
      I would suggest a set of Freedom Sharp Curve Radius pipes & just about any high flow air filter option from SE or reputable aftermarket option. Keep in mind, the more Air Filter element you can see, the better the filter (generally). All the fancy looking decorative ones generally cover too much of the filter element resulting in restrictions.

      Email me at workshop@ddhd.com.au & I will provide you with pricing.
      The customer had purchased & supplied some of the parts prior to build to be fitted during the build & I am unsure on how much he paid for those.
      I cam provide you with the labour cost, kit cost, dyno fee etc.
