That FATBOB rides great stock. I just can't fathom what it would be like with that engine build. Like to see what a smaller cam produces. Finding a bone stock bike like that for a good price point then having engine work like that. Hmmm. 🤔 Enjoying the channel and subscribed.

A 114 is already more than enough. I was just doing over 100 on my FXDR earlier today and I wasn't even in top gear. I also have a Vrod Muscle. I thought I wanted a 128 kit but these two are more than I need.

Absolutely 💯 you can't go wrong with wither choice. Both provide awesome grunt with great peak HP numbers. The 485 will make sightly more peak HP & the 483 has the best idle sound out there

Do you like the HD throttle body and manifold 6.4 back ordered only (6.8) or the HPI 6.2 and HD 6.2 injectors for my 128 with 483 CR . Going to replace my 475 S&S , decided on that and will not have to replace valve springs . What air cleaner do you like , I have a Arlen Ness 65 deg side funnel .

If you were to do a 96 to 107ci kit from APE with Cams & had it built for you including a dyno tune it would be somewhere around $6700 AUD. Thats ride in ride out.
Would there be a big difference on a cr485 and a cr483 on a stage 2 softail fatboy? I’m debating which one to get. I love the choppiness of the cr483..
Hey Tom, question. Is it possible a cam for the M8 have an 800 lift???. This channel Official Mac revealed his road glide build with a custom built 2 into 1 and told me the cam had an 800 lift. It does has a crazy lope to it, but 800 lift?
I've never heard of a cam with that much lift but I would say it is possible with the correct ratio rocker arms. I know that when guys are using .60p lift cams they have to modify some cam support plates to accommodate the lobe.

I love the fat bob. I bought one brand new back in 2014. It was an experience for sure,was my first brand new bike. We put vance and hines 2 into 2 big radius, screamin eagle heavy breather, the cone fiilter, had the orange tuner back when they were tunable. I hadna 12" mini ape bar for it too, but after riding it a couple weeks with the stock bar, i left the stack bar on it. Will you leave the stock bar on yours Tom?.
Yeah I think I'll leave the stock bars on this one. T-bars are pretty cool but I still don't think I'll be putting them on. I will sell this bike in a few months.

Would you have been better with the CR 515 maybe . I just sent you a copy of my tune you ask for on my 132 build with 515 CC cam you said i should have got more out of the build that i did . What did you think of the tune and did you get it .
The passage is there from factory. It's part of the pil cooling circuit around the exhaust valves in an effort to keep the heads cooler. The head gasket has an embossed area that specifically seals around the passage. The idea of tapping the passage & adding the screw plug more or less eliminates the possibility of an oil leak from the head or gasket. In saying that, I have never came across and M8 Head that's leaked oil from that area. I just like the effort & level of professionalism taken with the heads
@@MasterTechMiller understood. I also build big cubic inch M8. And I have never also. Sean an issue with oil leak at the heads. But plugging the hole will now make the valve area on the seat run way hotter with no oil to it. That could eventually burn up the seat of the valve through time.
@iginogasparini3369 it's not the feed or return passage. It's a casting hole to clear out the other passages. No harm to the cooling system. It's blocked off by thr OEM head gasket in stock form.

So these heads in particular are from the exchange program from APE. You send your heads to them & they send you these back, However, if you want a set of stage 2 heads from APE nowadays, they don't come CNC ported. They come hand ported & textured, flow bench tested & proven. They still come loaded with high lift valve springs too. The reason is to help lower the cost for the customer on the exchange program. The hand ported & textured heads flow just has much as the CNC ported heads in this video. They do still offer a CNC ported option if it is requested though. Thanks for watching! Great video. I have same bike wih 114 andSE torque cam, extreme ventilator air filter and Rinehart mufflers. Your attention to detail is amazing. Why no oil pump mods? What is your break in process?
The 2020 & Up models all come with the latest 8 lobe oil pump from Harley-Davidson. It is by far more than capable of meeting the demands of all the big bore kit builds out there. The cam plate too is also up for the job. I believe the first few generation oil pumps gave it all a bad name leading to people thinking an aftermarket upgrade is the only way to go. My break in process involves heat cycling the engines 2 or 3 times then it's straight to the dyno to get the Air fuel ratios as close to spot on as possible to avoid cylinder wall washing from being too rich or from excessive heat from being too lean
We don't have EPA here. Our State is pretty relaxed about it all. Sometimes you may get a cranky officer that will write you up for modified exhausts. If they do, you need to have the stock one fitted then have it inspected & ticked off. Then you can swap out your OEM system to the aftermarket one. It's simple, don't be rude or aggressive towards the police, they won't write you up.
It's a great cam! I have used it in a few other builds & so far it's never let me down. I thought I'd go with the 540 this time just for something different. I'll be doing a 515 & 485 swap in this bike in coming weeks. That's going to be a great comparison as the 485 & 515 have the exact same timing events, only the lift is different so that should be a great back to back comparison

When I find a pre owned, bone stock one that I like, your doing an A.P.E. build for me mate.
I know where a 2018 one is. It's only got a stage 2 kit in with really low ks. It's got T-Bars on it & it's White.

Hi did you do Chain Kit Conversation from the Belt Drive ?
Nope. No real need to at this stage. The belts are good for upto 180hp.
I'm very impressed with your numbers.
I was a little surprised it didn't make 150hp & 150ft/lbs but either way, it's still VERY fun to ride.

Did you 5 thou times 4.25 on second ring also?
Elevation have anything to do with that peak number at all? Or was that corrected for sea level?
Add 6% to these numbers to get corrected sea level numbers
