    Quick question Would there be any need to clone the data of a brand new laptop that's been recently bought and hasn't been used yet if you're upgrading the nvme storage? Because I would think that since it's a brand new laptop all I would think you'd have to do once you bought the new laptop is to take off the back plate put in the new nvme, screw it all back together then power it on for the first time to then format it to become usable as solid state drive am I right or wrong? Just was wondering🤔

    • @ariavision
      @ariavision  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it’s brand new laptop and you have no data on it you don’t need clone the drive.
      For installing windows on your new drive I’m suggesting you use the the Lenovo provided tool or watch video in my channel how to create Lenovo bootable usb.
      If you want to sell your old NVME the you need to format it if not trying to sell it just keep it like that

    • @ariavision
      @ariavision  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not all NVME’s are getting hot, idepend on two factors
      1- the intern cooling of your device ( you must have enough fans to keep your device cool at all time).
      2- the brand of the NVME plays also the big role. And yes 80 degree Celsius can damage your device

    • @mediocritycentral
      @mediocritycentral 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      pcie is backwards compatible so yeah you can put in a Gen 4 drive but it will only run on Gen 3 speeds (the Legion 5 2020 supports up to Gen 3). The disadvantage is for example for a Samsung 980 Pro you can't have its 7000mbps speeds (it'll max out at 3500-4000mbps) but the advantage is that it'll run wayyyy cooler than a Gen 3 drive.

    Good afternoon.
    Question for the author and experts. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 17ARH05H laptop. I read according to the specification that the M.2 2242 SSD PCIe NVMe connector has a maximum of 512GB of NVMe SSD installed at the factory, which is what it costs. But only 1TB NVMe SSD is installed on the second M.2 2280 SSD PCIe NVMe slot.
    Although, delving into the Lenovo forums, I read that at the time of the release of this model, these were default test hard drives from Lenovo. And in theory there is the possibility of an upgrade to larger volumes.
    Right now I have a default 512GB SSD on M.2 2242. And a 500GB 2.5" hdd. Instead of a 500GB 2.5" hdd, I want to put a 2TB SD card on the M.2 2280 slot. Do you think it will get up?
