    Nicely done!
    Just a suggestion to show the BIOS feature to suspend the battery prior to installing the memory or SSD. This would help to electrically protect the components. 😀

    For all the people trying to figure out what NVMe he used, it's the "Sandisk Ultra m.2 NVMe 3D 1TB",

    • @hansdohoho9166
      @hansdohoho9166 ปีที่แล้ว

      Upgrading to 32Gb of Ram is perfect, I had the same model with 512 Gb SSD. I upgraded the ram to 32 GB (dual kit 16 Gb *2 which gave me incredible performance) and added 1TB SSD Gen 3, following the Lenovo guide. You can go for 64 GB of Ram but that is just overkill. You can sure add up to 4 TB of SSD as well, but I would not recommend it because the drivers were not specifically made to support that much storage.

    • @robertagren9360
      @robertagren9360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It supports up to 32 and it can be with 2 sticks or one 32 ram. The 32 is always dual 16 that you only need one 32gb ram. The M.2 is 1TB and support up to 2 separate hard drives.The OS cut partitions inside the hard drive that the 2 slots is to make it easy to reinstall without partition loss to the secondary storage. It can be used to upgrade to another 1TB since the M.2 is already consumed by having the OS installed on it.

      You can hold the power button for like 10 seconds and it'll discharge the battery or something like that. There is also apparently a BIOS setting that does the same thing. You really don't need to detach the battery to add memory or SSD. I would only detach the battery if you're doing something like repasting since you will have go to the cooling system. Of course, if you want to be extra cautious then there is no harm in detaching it (unless you mess up the connector).
