  • Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Cuisinart 9 cup food processor. Link to Cuisinart 9 cup food processor: amzn.to/2sUiPIv It comes with a work bowl that is virtually shatterproof, housing base with a shaft and touchpad control panel.
    Link to Cuisinart 9 cup food processor: amzn.to/2sUiPIv
    Cord storage in the base. Suction cup feet so the base won’t move around on your counter. It’s heavy, sturdy and I usually take that to be a sign of a well made appliance. The cover has a wide mouth feed tube which is great for slicing whole fruits and vegetables. The pusher assembly slides inside the feed tube. There’s a small removable pusher inside. This is useful for carrots and adding liquid while making a dressing. There are two blades - one for chopping and mixing and the other for making dough when using more than 3.5 cups of flour. If you’re making dough with less than 3.5 cups of flour, use the chopping blade. There are two discs - one for slicing and one for shredding. Detachable stem for the discs and a plastic spatula. All the plastic is BPA free.
    Let’s assemble the food processor. Place the work bowl on top. The handle should be just left of center. Turn clockwise and it will lock into the base. Put the blade on the shaft, it should fit nicely on the bottom of the bowl. Put the cover on the bowl with the handle are to the left of center and turn counterclockwise to lock. Put the pusher assembly in the cover and it’s ready to use.
    First, I’ll chop an onion to show you how the chopping blade works. Pulse a few times. Scrape down between pulses. The onion is minced evenly.
    Next we’ll slice apples using the slicing disc. Place the disc on a flat surface and attach the disc stem by turning it to the right and you’ll hear a click to lock. Place it over the center of the bowl and it should be an easy fit. Put the cover on and the pusher assembly. The apple is sliced evenly in about five seconds.
    We’ll shred carrots using the shredding disc. It only takes a few seconds for evenly shredded carrots. A few pieces were left on the disc.
    Next I’ll make a white bean dip. First, put in a clove of garlic, then add drained white beans and lemon juice. Pulse a few times and process. Add some olive oil through the feed tube. The dip is perfectly smooth and creamy. This is a really healthy dip to serve with baked chips or crackers.
    Let’s make some pie dough with the dough blade. I’m using 3 cups flour and 4 cups is the maximum amount of flour that you can put in this work bowl. Add salt and butter cut into cubes. Pulse a few times and add cold water until the dough is formed. The dough is done really quickly. Divide it and flatten into a disc. The dough freezes well so it’s ready whenever you want to make a pie.
    The Cuisinart 9 cup food processor is versatile. It chopped, sliced and shredded quickly and evenly. Pie dough was made efficiently. It’s a well built machine that is extremely useful in the kitchen.

    Excellent information. Sure beats reading the manual to get started. Of course there is much more detailed information in the manual.

    The base is not brushed stainless steel. It is a coating applied to the plastic base to appear like stainless steel...

    I this food processor for 10 years and finally got rid of it. It was hard to get the bowl off, the feed chute pusher out and got fed up fighting with it.

    Great review. Very in depth, objective and informative. Thanks for sharing it with us! The Cuisinart 9 cup is pretty good and actually very powerful. Not all ingredients work best with it, but for the most part, general usage is good.

    Great review..had this processor for awhile and haven’t used it..until yesterday... I cut my finger for the last time and this baby proudly sits out on my counter to make sure I use it.😂😂 my knife block may be going into the barely used cabinet...

    Use the PULSE button when shredding/slicing as the machine will turn off (stop) once the feed tube is removed!

    First time user: Got it new for Christmas. I can't get the pusher part to go inside the cup! It has a metal rod that goes into the handle, but won't budge, with or without the removable small pusher. Also, when plugged in and turned on, the light comes on but NO MOTOR

      Marylou Lunsford Me too. Look at the large black horizontal handle. If it is not all perfectly aligned, straighten it and then try again.

    • @bestkitchenreviews
      @bestkitchenreviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joshua Barnett Hi Joshua, I was a small child back then....lol Do you mean the large feed tube or small white pusher that drops into the middle? I'm guessing you mean the large pusher assembly. To remove it, push the large plastic tab on the side of the pusher assembly and it should pull straight up. Hope that helps. Please subscribe :-)

    • @bestkitchenreviews
      @bestkitchenreviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joshua Barnett Also, here is the link to what I believe is the manual. It states "To remove pusher assembly, hold
      it with thumb on large tab. Press firmly on tab and lilt straight up.

    Just got off the phone with a very rude representative from Cuisinart. There is a recall for the blade seen in this video. www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2016/cuisinart-food-processors-recalled-by-conair
    I called in b/c I had the recalled blade and - after reading about the potential danger - I noticed my blade was cracking. The representative was very rude over the phone and was very dismissive in her tone. She processed a "replacement blade" for my machine. Not sure I feel confident after the recall and the poor customer service.

    wow not sure why it is suggested to NOT form a ball in the FP as all the newer processors I have tired do fine forming a ball IN the bowl and most advertise on their intros to do so. I have also found that I do not have to do as much preprep and do not cut onions before I use them...for me that is a huge part of why I get one. Was looking at this as a gift as I want a FP that has a metal base, but think I will consider a refurbished Breville instead.

    What happens when the pizza dough forms a ball in the food processor?

    • @bestkitchenreviews
      @bestkitchenreviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ahn Caldwell Hi Ahn, pizza dough should form a ball in the food processor meaning it's ready to use. I made pie dough which should not form a ball - would mean it's over processed and may become tough instead of tender. You should take out pie dough before it forms a ball :-)

    when making the white bean dip, why would you add the garlic then the beans? what a waste of time, shove them in together

  • @PoliteTia
    @PoliteTia 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pre-chopped veggies and the onions turned soupy. There is just too much break-down. The machine is pretty, I’ll give you that. A mandarin is still high on my list. The hand held blenders could make the bean dip in the serving bowl
