  • LINK to Cuisinart 14-cup Food Processor: amzn.to/2jj7ewE Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Cuisinart 14-Cup food processor in brushed stainless steel. It measures 15 inches tall and 10 inches deep and 7.5 inches wide. It weighs about 18.4 pounds so it is heavy. You’re not going to want to move this around often. A food processor this size is best for people who do a lot of slicing, shredding and cooking in general.
The housing is plastic. The design is elegant, sleek and simple. There are two levers, one to turn on and process continuously and one to pulse and turn off the unit.
This food processor comes with the housing base, 14-cup work bowl, cover with extra large feed tube, small and large pushers, 4 mm stainless steel slicing disc, medium stainless steel shredding disc, detachable stem that fits both discs, stainless steel blade for chopping/mixing and dough, a plastic spatula and instruction manual with recipes.
To put the unit together, place the work bowl on the base and turn to lock. If you’re chopping, insert the blade, place your ingredients in the bowl and turn the cover, press the pusher assembly down to lock it into place.
To test the unit, I’ll make dough, hummus, puree, mince, slice and shred vegetables. First I’ll mince onions. I’ve got the blade in the bowl, cut up three beautiful red onions into 1 inch pieces. Put the cover on, insert the pusher assembly, lock it. I’ll use the off/pulse lever. Just press and release. When the blade stops, the food drops to the bottom of the bowl and goes through the blade when it starts up again. If you want bigger pieces of onion, you can stop here. If you want finely minced onion, keep going a few times. That’s beautifully and evenly minced. Whenever you’re chopping onions, tomatoes or anything with a lot of water, watch the bowl because it can quickly turn into a puree. To mince these three onions with a knife, it would have taken a lot longer. I love mincing onions finely especially when making curry. Next I’ll puree tomatoes to make fresh sauce. For a quick from scratch marinara, I mince onions, celery and carrots in the processor, sautee that and puree fresh tomatoes in here. This is 6 plum tomatoes cut up into 1 inch pieces. I’ll pulse then use the on lever to puree. The food processor makes it so quick to make your own sauce at home and you can control the ingredients that go into it so it’s much healthier.
Next I’ll make hummus. Put 3 cloves of garlic in. Turn the machine on. Now I’ll add 3 cans of drained chickpeas or garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon juice, salt. Pulse a few times, then switch to ON. Let it go until smooth adding water through the feed tube if necessary. Drizzle olive oil over the top and sprinkle paprika. The hummus is so smooth and creamy. It was also extremely quick to make. If you’re having a lot of people over especially during the holidays, the food processor will definitely cut down on your prep time.
Next I’ll make pie dough. 2.5 cups flour, 2 sticks unsalted butter, 3/4 tsp salt, 1 tbsp sugar 6 - 8 tbsps ice water. Make sure your butter is cut up and extremely cold. Put the metal blade in the bowl. Put the flour, salt and sugar and butter in the processor. Pulse a few times until the dough is a little crumbly. Add a few tbsps ice water through the top and pulse until dough starts clumping together. Don’t over process it or let it ball up. Take it out and form a ball, divide it in half, press into a disk, wrap it up and refrigerate it. That’s how quick it is to make your own pie dough. You can also make pizza dough really quickly in the processor.
Next, I’ll use the slicing disc. Insert the stem into the disc, turn and lock. Put the stem in the middle, put the cover on. I’ve taken the stem off two bell peppers. Leave the bottom intact, put it in the feed tube, put the pusher assembly on and hold down the off/pulse lever, let it go once the pepper is sliced. The slices are even and round. This is great on top of pizza.
I’ve quartered a head of cabbage and taken the core out. Place the cabbage inside the feed tube. The pusher assembly has the small pusher in place. Put the pusher assembly in the feed tube and push down to lock. Press down on the off/pulse lever and let go when the cabbage is finished. That was done in 3 seconds which is super fast. This is perfect for coleslaw or just sauteed cabbage.

Thanks! Great review/demo - the instruction manual from Cuisinart had no instructions for first time users and their videos were not available. You answered a lot of my questions and were very reassuring on how to use the machine. Good job!

This video was more helpful than the manual in showing how to use this device. I just got this processor today, and I didn't have the patience to read the entire instruction manual, but as far as I can tell the manual doesn't tell how to do things like assemble the stem with the blades. The pieces take a little more muscle to assemble than my 35 year old "Regal" food processor especially since I'm being super careful because, like it's new and I don't want to break it. I guess that means it's a safer tool. It's certainly a lot quieter.

My secret Hummus recipe, and for the best Hummus taste ever do the following. Place the cooked garbanzo beans ( 1 pound) in the food processor. Add salt to your taste and add a teaspoon of Cumin for each pound of cooked Garbanzo beans, then add 2 "teeth " of peeled garlic. Run the machine until the Hummus is extremely smooth. After that, add 4 tablespoons of Tahini sauce to the mixture and run the machine again until all mixed well. Take out all the contents and spread them using a spatula evenly in a flat plate. For decoration , get a pinch of cooked garbanzo beans and place them in the middle of the Hummus . Take another pinch and separate it into 4 equal parts . You can place those equally on the hummus at edge of the plate. Get some chopped parsley and sprinkle ( very little ) on the garbanzo beans. Hummus does not taste good without extra virgin Olive Oil. In the middle East, in Jordan, some high end restaurants frie some pine nuts in Olive Oil and then spread them on the Hummus for extra price ( NOT CHEAP ) but delicious and high in Vitamin K2.( Vitamin K2 is important in preventing the cholesterol from sticking to the arteries.) Good appetite!

Incredibly useful video - I just got this processor for Christmas and it's discontinued so no videos on Cuisinart's website. The manual showed the parts but not how to put them together and nothing at all about how to operate the processor - just what each blade could do and some recipes. Thanks you SO MUCH for telling me everything I needed to know to even get started with my new processor! I'm so excited now! :)

Perfect review. You showed every detail. All the other reviews I watched already had the work bowl on the unit and left it up to me to try to discover the the proper way to get going. Your instructions made it simple for a first time user to use this food processor. It takes a certain talent to give instructions so that someone who has never used a food processor can do so without searching for other information.

I absolutely love what this food processor does! To top it all off I love the fact that the motor is quiet and Low pitched. A lot of food processors out there that I have seen have Motors that sound absolutely terrible! The Cuisinart 14 cup food processor is the bee's knees because it does not bother my ears one bit. This is one of the best videos I have seen so far with this favorite food processor of mine, because the demo was very simple and I love the fact that this food processor does not bother me and is a time-saver. The only drawback about it, is that I don't have enough kitchen space to have the exact same kind of food processor that I would like to own, which is this particular Device. I hope that when I do get this particular kind of food processor, that it will not bother me while using it, because I do have sensitive hearing due to my eyesight. Thank you for having this video available.

Actually, the small pusher has a small hole in the bottom that is specifically for adding liquids in an even stream mid process. This is easier, and less messy, when adding liquids, especially to flour and other light, powdery ingredients.
I've had this processor a while now and like it's powerful motor. We're only a two person household, so only use large amounts of food occasionally, however I find even small amounts of food are processed as evenly as larger amounts. Hardly ever bother with my 3 cup mini processor anymore.

Had a Cuisinart for years and when it died bought Wolfgang Puck processor which worked great for the last 20 years and now having problems I bought a kitchenaid a few weeks ago and was surprised at how light it is and the buttons are so hard to push. Pretty doesn't mean versatile. It is going back. Watching the video demo last night was so telling for me. Thanks again!

Thank you for another excellent review. I've read that this particular model from Cuisinart is one of the most popular small appliances in a kitchen. (My mother had the same green & white Corel dinnerware that you have.)

Thank you for this very educational video. It was done very well! Had to dispose my Braun 2 cup food processor after so many years. Why they discontinue good items is beyond me. Anyway, can't wait for my kitchen toy to arrive. :-)

Now if only Cuisinart would make a bowl/lid assembly that doesn't break every year. They built this very powerful, durable motor unit, and paired it with a bowl that has fragile bits that are easy to break off, rendering the whole thing unusable until you shell out $60 for a replacement. And the price goes up every year.

Exactly. Between the useless pamphlets and videos and the flimsy parts, it’s got to be the string motors that keep people buying these ones.
