I processed 250# of pears from my pear tree using the dicing kit and had trouble with the lid jamming up. I had to wait for hubby to get home to get it open. Apparently, there's a small notch that he used to pry it off with a butter knife. He recommends applying coconut oil to the rim before starting. The riper the pears got, the more it jammed up with the skins.... The diced pears are easily dehydrated and I have LOTS thanks to this dicing kit. I also made lots of pear, cranberry, and raisin oat breakfast bars for my freezer.
I was a service deli manager for years and for slicing cheese without it sticking to the blade I spray the blade with pam worked like a charm and clean up was much easier, maybe this would help with shredding, I just got my big fancy Cuisinart and am going to try it pretty sure it will help, spray your knives too when your chunking your cheese.
thank you so much for showing the functionality of this processor! if you still have the unit, would you be able to show the cleaning process? is it dishwasher safe?

@@HK-th3tu I’ve only been able to find that specific unit on KitchenAid’s website and William Sonoma. However, kitchen aid has a sale on it, and pro tip; if you create an account and put the unit in your cart but don’t check out, they will send you a 10% discount code in 24 hours as an incentive to make the purchase! I ended up buying it from them!
Hello there - thank you for wonderful video. While using dicing kit, can u modify that level and change the size of veggies dicing ? I want to know if we can change the size of onions or potatoes while using dicing kit ?
Would you recommend this or the sage paradice 9 for dicing? I would use mine for chopping and dicing! Can this chop at different levels too? Thanks so much
This can't chop at different levels, you have to eyeball and stop and start depending on how much you want to chop. I haven't heard or used 'sage paradise 9', I'm afraid so I can't comment on that.
Thank you for the very nice review. I have a question, how many slicing settings does this device have, and what is the thickness of the settings. Also, do you know if it can slice the hard cheese?
I start getting nervous when any small appliance starts vibrating and moving on the counter or when they start emitting a strong odor comming from the motor overheating. I actually am waiting for a sale to purchase this particular model but in silver but not sure anymore if I will get this or the Cuisinart Elemental 13 cup
as far as the cheese shredding... was it at room temp.?... maybe if it was right out of the refrigerator or even placed in the freezer for maybe 30 minutes?
Yes, the cheese was straight from the fridge. Perhaps, unfortunately waiting 30 mins with the cheese in the freezer means listening to my kids complain as they wait for their food, lol. For those that can, great, for those that can't these are the result we will get. Not to mention if I put it in earlier, I'll probably forget about it and it will freeze completely making it hard to shred!
I wouldn't dismiss the possibility that putting the cheese in the freezer for, say, 15 minutes isn't going to improve results. I watched another video on this machine by someone who did that, and the performance was much better.
I think this is better because it can all be stored inside the food processor plus it processes the food directly into the processor bowl, you don’t have to worry about finding a bowl big enough for the food to drop into. Plus it’s more space saving, for the attachment you would need to bring it forward and have enough counter space. I also think the price it better, I’ve seen the price of the attachment almost the same price as the food processor. Hope that helps!
@@MeemReviews Thanks. Couldn’t find one that included the dicing attachment. Ordered one from Amazon for $145. The dicing attachment is sold separately. Regards.
I did use slightly firmer (not VERY firm) tomatoes just because I was expecting the softer ones to turn to mush. Thanks for the comment, hope you found the video useful!
No I haven't tried dates, but maybe chill them first and that will make them easier to chop in the food processor? Let us know if you have any success...😊
I have the older version with the dicing kit, and liked it when it worked. Through time for some reason, it's become so tight I can barely use it because the lid won't close enough to click the safety mechanism. And yes, I've triple quadruple checked every aspect over 20 times. Poor design. I really don't want to purchase another one just for that though.
I only bought the last version just before they announced the new one and I wish I had waited! Prefer the look of the assembly, love the onboard storage and I was using the dicer yesterday and fully agree with your assessment. The new version is much less bulky and looks far easier to fit - I always waste 10 mins faffing around to use it and then to put it away again!
@@vitazgal9933 if you were in the UK you could have mine! The dicing unit works really well but the drive post is now stuck so I can use the discs to slice and grate and the dicing kit and the blade in the mini bowl but not main blade or dough blade in the big bowl. I have got fed-up with it as the pulse button has given up the ghost and bought a Magimix instead! Alas no real dicing option but the rest of the Food Pro far superior! The up to date version of my Kitchenaid here in the UK is KitchenAid FOOD PROCESSOR 3.1L - MATTE BLACK 5KFP1319BBM but not sure the reviews would make me buy this one - if dicing was my reason for buying a food promo would look at the Sage/Breville if funds permitted!

I have the older version without the dicing kit. Not impressed with it at all. If you have decided to keep it just a caution to make sure you handle the bowl carefully as mine broke and left a pretty bad crack. Kitchen Aid took ages to replace it leaving me with useless food processor for a year.
I just used this yesterday to shred some onions, peppers & and honestly what a waste of £300 🙄 this machine is an absolute joke I should’ve gone with ninja

I don't unfortunately, but yes the bowl and the attachments are all top rack dishwasher safe.
Thanks for the clear demo. Love the dough tip!!!! It clearly is much better at slicing than my previous version!!!
