I had bought a KitchenAid, which is a brand I trusted, but ending up returning it after one day because the motor stalled on almonds. I just received my breville yesterday. I peeled a while bag of potatoes, and picked up a knife to chip them, when I remembered it came with a French fry cutter. I tried it, and couldn't believe it. I dropped two potatoes at a time in the chute and before I could blink, they were cut. The thing is amazing!
I just bought the Breville, I own the juicer and it is a workhorse, glad to see the blender is as good. I have used a cuisine art for years, my mother-in-law was a caterer and had one, the old ones were great, doesn't look like they've kept up their standard.
I have a Breville panini press that is a work of artful form and function. Not surprised the Breville food processor took the cake. My Cuisinart is 20 years old and has just about given up the ghost. I know which brand I'll be buying this time around!

I love my Breville Kitchen Wizz Pro (Australian), I have had it for over 10 years now and it is a huge help in my kitchen. Mine came with a seperate container with all the attachments and my slicer can be adjusted to 24 different thicknesses. At one stage you seemed annoyed with the Breville, I was tossing up between the Magimix and Breville but the Breville has a 2000 wat motor compared to the Magimix which was 700 wat.

pretty sure she was always reading the instructions, she's even been shown doing it more than once in videos. the mentioning of the fact that she did was probably a.) because the kitchenaid was so different and b.) because people like you keep making passive aggressive comments about how she doesn't know what she's doing. but hey if it soothes you and the 42 other people who liked your comment that a trained chef and restaurant owner tells you she read the user manual in a less than 10 minute long video thats heavily edited, guess their new strategy is working.
I’ve had my Breville for years. I still find things it does that I hadn’t done before. I love it ! I got all the gadgets that come with it. Expensive but worth it !
Just keep in mind that these are all 16 cup high-end food processors. If you are looking for 11 cup or 14 cup, the models and results are very different. Also, interestingly, the prices.
The review should also include things like build quality and power comparison. Also cleaning, some food processors can be a pain to clean, food gets stuck in tiny crevices etc.
How are you liking it? I just got mine for Christmas this year as well! The only thing I’m a bit nervous about is making dough in it because I have heard that it makes though tough during the kneading process.
I have one of the high-end Cuisinart food processors, I believe the package was ~$500 and looks like the one tested in this video. My biggest complaint about it is the lid they have changed to. It has an inner spring loaded seal that you cannot take apart. Ease of cleaning is a big factor for me and the Cuisinart is an epic fail in that regard in my opinion. I rarely ever take it out of the cabinet.

I went with breville 16 after looking thru a lot of comments. I need to say, the smaller bowl included is absolute useless because it spills. There are too many unnecessary part/accessories and washing. If I would buy food processor again, I would go with cuisinart and with little to none accessories and washing. Good that breville has a really good customer service, as my bowl crackes on the first use and I got replacement after sending some photos. But I like your reviews a lot, keep it up.
When considering food processors, I wonder if set-up + food prep + break down + clean up actually create a net benefit over using standard methods (i.e. cutting board and a good knife, mixer and bowl, etc.). Any thoughts?
@@newlin83 I made hummus...once - and NEVER again! It is one of those things where it's better and more cost-effective if you just buy it pre-made. But your point is taken: for a larger quantity, using a food processor does become advantageous.
I have the Breville, and it's been a great performer over the years. The latest model has a dicing attachment (also available separately) which isn't bad, but isn't perfect either.
If you need that big a food processor (which most do not), look at a Robocoup and get it over with. The combo ones that have a straight through cutting path are so much more convenient for slicing, dicing, and then you can save the use of the bowl for things it's better suited for. Yeah, probably 2-3 times the price, but they are commercial quality, and parts are readily available if they are ever needed. Any of these things, all it takes is a model redesign and a something breaking means you toss it out.
I've got an ancient Japanese made Cuisinart that I bought used for $25. about 15 years ago - still runs great. Mostly use it for grinding and making nut butters. Modified it to override all the safety stuff companies are forced to build in to avoid lawsuits but makes things harder to use. Now I can put the blade on the shaft without the bowl and fire it up. Don't try that at home. (: Great video by the way and I love the kitchen design. How about panning around it for about 10 seconds so we can see the whole thing.

Yeah, that'd give them all a pretty even footing on price too. Picking the "cheap" Cuisinart and saying its not stacking up to the more expensive processors it's older more powerful sibling competes with was a strange choice.
I just bought the Cuisinart 14 cup model for under $100 on deal of the day special. In my opinion, it's questionable if it's worth that much. I'm going to return it and buy a Breville. Better build quality, better engineering, better results.

I’m ok with a knife, still learning how to use again one after many years.
No thanks! Instead of splashing out $4k Australian dollars, I’ll stick to the Breville one which would do the something similar and use the extra money to go for an overseas trip😂
Robot Coupe owns a brand for households called Magimix. I have both Magimix and Breville and can’t complain. Magimix produces in France and offers spare parts for decades.

These aren't industrial processors, and those dicing functions bruise the crap out of produce. You should be able to get a ~1 hour knife skills class that would dissuade you from thinking you need dicing function for home use.

I love having my expensive purchase justified by an unbiased third party. I love my Breville. I especially love how quiet it is compared to my old food processor.
Just a note, unless you're shredding a kilo of carrots, use a box grater. Way too much work to get out the processor, set it up, shred two carrots, then wash the whole thing. But yeah, doesn't surprise me at all that the Breville won. Don't think Heston would endorse a less-than-optimal product.
I’m very glad I got the Breville! And after this I’m more happy 😁 Have had it for two months and it is a great sous chef! It help us a lot for meal prepping. Got the 16 cup, dice and peel option
I bought the kitchen aid mini first because I have the classic stand mixer. To be fair it works great, but I heard that their other products are not that great. Just bought my cuisinart as advised by ATK in a sale (£90 from £280. It came with EVERYTHING - so lucky). So looking forward to using it 🤞
I think this is the best review Esther has done. Very informative. I got a Cuisinart based on reviews from America's Test Kitchen and have been woefully disappointed. My Breville Convection Toaster Oven is a real champ.
We are in the market for a Food processor so thanks for doing this review. Have you tested the September 2020 Versio of Vitamix's Food processor or have you tested any Vitamix Food Processor? Would the Vitamix food processor be as effective as the Breville Sous chef 16 Pro?
Given that the Cuisinart is pretty cheap while not really being that big a slouch and that most home cooks don't use these things every day, I could live with pulsing the carrots and almonds a little more for $100 less. But, not a bad job showing how they need to up their feed design relative to the Breville. (Brev makes great stuff, but, I tend to think it's often over priced)
Oops. I already bought the Cuisinart 11 cup model. But it was a bit over 100 bucks so I'm ok with it. Might upgrade to the Breville at some point. In the meantime, I'm getting good results. Thanks for posting this comparison. Where I live, in Taipei, only the Cuisinart is available and offers a 2 year warranty, So for 100 bucks, what could go wrong? :)
always have to wonder how many of these comments are actually people who work in food prep jobs and how many are just opinionated home-chefs and brand loyalists. at least less people seem to be complaining and claiming esther doesn't know what she's doing now though...... finally she gets at least Some of the respect she deserves.
I used a Robot-Coupe for 8 years, I used another industrial processor that could dice for ~6 months (in the field). -We don't see these brands she demoed in a professional kitchen. Knife skills are more valuable; I acquired them through time alone.
The breville is big. I’ve had one for 5 years, amazing machine, but definitely big. And you need storage for all of the attachments as well. I store both on a lazy Susan in the corner of my cabinets, works well for me and keeps my counters cleaner
Big but not too big. The difference in size between the 12 and 16 cup isn't all that much but the 16 cup is far more versatile so I recommend it. I have a bookshelf in another room where I store my crock pots, food processor, fryer, mixer. When I build a house it will have a 5 or 6 car garage. I bay for yard, 1 for wood working, 1 for painting, 1 for kitchen appliances :)
Cuisinart had THE BEST food processor 1995 DSC5 I think. Used daily for 25 years. I had to replace due to loss with new safety feature cuisinart processor. I just want to get rid of this thing! The safety feature ruined it. Now cuisinart’s MOTOR was exceptionally strong on the juicer, but little whimpy stem snapped like a twig! BREVILLE MAKES THE BEST JUICERS. PERIOD. I used to make and sell artisan breads and pastas, I obviously had the Kitchenaid Artisan mixer in ICE BLUE! Oh how I miss my mixer! I’ve seen, but not used Cuisinart and Breville mixers. They both look outstanding, but I’d still go with my Kitchenaid on the mixer, no question. It did everything I needed it to do and I loved my pasta attachments! Good review, just my 2 cents on high end kitchen gear.
If the new cuisinarts are truly like that, try to get a hold of a older version because it preforms MUCH better than its newer counterpart. ( I have prep 7, don’t know if that is the actual name but it’s a dream)

The two Breville products in the background give the impression that this is sponsored test review. Did anyone else notice a smaller version of the Breville food processor and a coffee maker sitting to the left of the stove?
There are many repeated comments with exact the same wording here from different accounts and the Breville company‘s account also wrote comments on this channel. So yes, they seem to be aware of this review.
I did research before I bought my Breville. The KA gets a lot of bad reviews because the unit is plastic (only looks like metal) and often overheats and vibrates off the counter. It also gets food/water stuck in places it shouldn't due to the poor design. I was really surprised that KA quality has gone downhill over the last 10 years. So, if you have an older model, hang on to it and do not "upgrade" to a newer model. Cuisinart also failed in comparison by many reviewers and can't compete with KA or Breville. The only processor worse than that is the Black & Decker. Finally, never put your food processor parts in the dishwasher. They will crack and warp over time and people have a bad time finding replacement parts.
I had the Breville and thought that the Magimix one would be better as its over $1,000 - what a mistake! My mum won't swap the Breville one, she loves it...so do I!!!! That would teach mea lesson thinking that the more you pay the better the quality. The Magmix is SO TEMPERAMENTAL!!! Drives me insane when it refuses to work!

The KitchenAid Pro Line Series came down in price ... now at $300.00. But I decided to get the Breville due to customer satisfaction. Just hope nothing goes wrong ... it appears when things go wrong it may take some time to get it fixed ...

Can you slice meat?
Hey checking in 2-3 years later, are you still happy with the purchase? I am deciding between the Cuisinart 14 cup and the Breville 16 cup now.
ATK tends to completely ignore Breville as a brand.
100% FACTS
How about testing ones that work well, and are affordable for the working clasd
A really nice simple comparison. Thanks for making it.
We are in the market for a Food processor so thanks for doing this review. Have you tested the September 2020 Versio of Vitamix's Food processor or have you tested any Vitamix Food Processor? Would the Vitamix food processor be as effective as the Breville Sous chef 16 Pro?
wow! Thanks Esther! I love this kind of comparison.
Your video was awesome.I was looking for those kinda comparisions.but v9nfused what to buy. This helped me to decide.Thank you.
Thanks for doing these videos! They help for sure when trying to make informed shopping decisions
Would you recommend Breville for cabbage shredding and tomato slicing ?
Which Breville model did you test?
always have to wonder how many of these comments are actually people who work in food prep jobs and how many are just opinionated home-chefs and brand loyalists. at least less people seem to be complaining and claiming esther doesn't know what she's doing now though...... finally she gets at least Some of the respect she deserves.
I used a Robot-Coupe for 8 years, I used another industrial processor that could dice for ~6 months (in the field). -We don't see these brands she demoed in a professional kitchen. Knife skills are more valuable; I acquired them through time alone.
Good Review. Thanks for all the details. I am going to go with the Breville.
Very good video. Right to the point. No waste of time.
Can you please do the test between Breville all in one handstick VS Braun Multiquick 9
These products just look too BIG?!
They're the biggest models available for each brand I believe. I know the kitchenaid comes in 3 sizes.
I have that exact Cuisinart, and I have exactly the same results.
Rodney Fisk would you ever recommend it ?

Thank you this was very helpful
Great review, subscribing because of this. Thank you!
Augh!! I thought you are gonna try out how it does with the meat.
I would love to see a review on countertop ice cream machines with compressors instead of the freezer bowls
I have a Whynter and Breville. Both are great and similiar price. Can't go wrong with with either.
Seems like there's a Breville in the background too
"I've never used or seen a Breville food processor before", haha
You should do test on which is the best to process meat, chicken, and fish into paste. Thank you.
If the new cuisinarts are truly like that, try to get a hold of a older version because it preforms MUCH better than its newer counterpart. ( I have prep 7, don’t know if that is the actual name but it’s a dream)
What's the point though? People en mass aren't going to be able to buy old appliances. They're compaing what's on the market now.
I wish you had done a puree to show how smooth each food processor could make a product
Of course. I knew this all along, and it's why I have my Breville Souse Chef in Onyx Black!
I love bravo food processor but don't know how to buy online. Could u plz help me?
@@kathmanduapartmentnepal9190 I'm in the United States, so I assume you would need to find a store that sells them in your country. You need one that matches the types of power and outlets you have in your country.
These are very good reviews and very helpful for people who wants to start a Food Truck business.
What do you use in your non-mobile business?
That's why I'm here to, I'm really hoping Los Angeles will let us have a beer and wine license on our trucks hopefully someday a liquor license, food and Cocktails off of a truck would be awesome
@@Spartacus547 Thank god for uber lmao
With space so limited; I'd skip this product.
Great video and test
I’d watch Esther test ice cubes or envelope glue
Eeew go away creepy perv
Thank you for the review, excellent video!
Her fav word: «even»
She's fairly consistent with the word even.
Would it not work better if several carrots at a time are put in together?
I have use All off them for my restaurant. And breville is good and heavy duty and long running
Kitchen aid does not seem to have a dicer but the Breville and Cuisinart do, but the cuisinart has only a small grid to dice.
Thank you!
Breville's been upping their game these past few years with their kitchen tools.
BREVILLE is a paid actor...!! 😉😅
BREVILLE is a paid actor...!! 😉😅
Is it possible to test cooktops? What is the difference between electric and gas?
cool video the demonstration show exactly the value of each device!! thank you!!:)
How come the almonds don't get milled until it is all fine? Doesn't it just take a bit longer to mill it finely throughout?
Thank you 😊
Breville is a great quality and renowned brand, I own several appliances and I've always been very satisfied.
You are supposed to fill the feed with the carrots and then They grate properly on the cuisinart!
Ester Choi is most def. the women of my life. period.
i have breville smart oven bought 2015. its still functioning but buttons are starting to malfunction.
i have kitchen aid stand mixer bought 2015. no problem at all up to thid date
Great job
Now that you all are reading instruction manuals, maybe you could go back and give the roccbox a fair shake in the portable pizza oven test you did!
Good testing
Annoying background 'music' why do you feel you need a disco beat going on?
Good scientific approach
Please do the Kenwood cooking chef and others similar to it
The KitchenAid Pro Line Series came down in price ... now at $300.00. But I decided to get the Breville due to customer satisfaction. Just hope nothing goes wrong ... it appears when things go wrong it may take some time to get it fixed ...
Of course Breville was going to be the winner. I have a Breville juicer & I love it works great.
I judge my processors solely on how easy they are to clean.
Agreed that's the most important. Also if they cut well. The Cuisinart Custom 14 should've been tested instead of the 2.0. It's better in every way.
