Woodturning: Lidded Cherry Bowl with an Ebony Finial
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 11 ก.ค. 2022
- I recently received my August issue of Fine Woodworking. I typically don't see woodturning projects in there, but this month, there was a unique bowl featured. I really liked the shape and it was lidded with a finial. I've made lidded boxes before, but not too many lidded bowls. Plus it had a stunning little finial. I had this 4" cube piece of cherry that would be perfect for this project.
I hope you enjoy this video. Please let me know if there is a project you'd like to see me make and I will do my best to do it. Thank you for all the support you have shown me and the channel!

Very nice lidded bowl. You did a very good job with it. Lid looks great, simple enough that it doesn’t detract from the bowl. The finial came out very nice as well. Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you Bill! It's good to be back. - Ed
Very nice, Ed!
Personally I would have turned the finial separately to avoid potential damage to the lid. But, if this works for you that’s OK. It turned out very nicely.👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you John! You are so right and I didn't think about that at the time. I'll do it different next time. - Ed
Exactly. I always turn finials separately, then attach.
