    Salamat ng marami engr.. Sa kaalaman na senishare mo marami akong natutunan. Baka pwd mong gawan ng content ito engr. . amo namin bumili ng chiller trane na 380 ang supply pero ang supply namin ay 220 engr. Ilang kva ang gagamitin na step up na transformer at Kung anong size na cable at ocpd ang gagamitin... Ang nakalagay sa plate engr.
    Min. Ampacity nya 501a sa dalawang compressor at ang ocpd nya 700a at sa bawat compressor ang RLA ay 203 salamat engr..

    Good pm engr... Ask lang po.... Yung FLA ng motor is 39.3 Amps.. Naka star delta starter motor control..x250% parin bah which is 100AT na breaker or enough na yung 63AT na breaker.. Thanks

      The formulas used on this video was for three phase, but the procedure is applicable to single phase. Take note that single phase formula is different from three phase.

    Hi sir! May I just ask at segment 5:03, you used an oc protection greater than your calculated value, but according to pec article 4.30.4.2 (c) for rating or setting for indv motor ckt; it says that the protection device should not exceed the value calculated, and the table is also named as 'maximum rating or setting'. Which is correct engr? Because if we were to follow the pec, we would have maybe used 50AT for the ACU? Or maybe it's a 'rule of thumb' for veteran electrical practitioners? Kindly clarify engr, Thank you! :)

      Dun may type Ng OCPD n gagamitin.. may multiplying factor dun depending s OCPD.. may Isa ako video s sizing ng CB pag individual motor.

      Yes po sir napanood ko na din po yun and nakasubscribe po ako pero sabi po kasi sa Art. 4.30.4.2 (c) Rating or Setting: "In accordance with Table 4.30.4.2. A protective device that has a rating or setting NOT exceeding the value calculated according to the values given in Table 4.30.4.2 shall be used" medyo nalito lang ako sir kung dapat ba na nearest lower sa calculated value or nearest higher based dun sa paggamit ng multiplier sa table ng ocpd. In addition pa sir na yung table is named as "Maximum Rating or Setting of Motor Branch-ckt sc and gnd fault protective device", kindly check po sir and thank you sir

      Ung sa title Ng table..Tama naman sya kc db ung CB protection sya sa SSC at gnd fault.
      Tpos dun sa nearest lower or higher rating Ng CB. Para sakin, designer option n yn eh. Db may standard rating tyo Ng CB. (Art. 2.40), Kung ano ung pinaka malapit n size ng CB base s calculated mo un select mo. Kc may next stage p nman un..dadaan p s protection coordination study ung design m pagdating sa manufacturer ng panels.

      @@NoelLaude yes po sir, naisip ko lang po na since 'maximum' yung name ng table 4.30.4.2, perhaps the rating of the ocpd of the motor should not exceed the calculated value using the multiplier found inside the table?     Engr. Good pm.. Ask lang po ako sa settings ng Air Circuit Breaker kung ano po yung standard of the following setting:
    Example yung total load current ko is 2500 amperes ano po yung size at settings ng Air Circuit Breaker ko?
    1. Size ng Air Circuit Breaker
    2. Continuous Amps (Ir)
    3. Long time delay
    4. Short time pick up
    5. Short time delay
    6. Instantaneous pick up
    7. Ground fault pick up

      Naka kVA kc tyo sa mga loads.. kaya dinivide ko n ung nominal voltage n 400V sa 1000. Kayak 0.4 n lng un.

    Sir yung tungkol sa BS standard na pinakita mo na table para sa ground conductor di ba Sir base sa table kapag less than 16sq.mm yung cable ang ground conductor ay equal sa size ng phase conductor? So kapag 10sqmm phase conductor ang ground conductor na gagamitin ay 10sq.mm din tama ba Sir? Natanong ko lang Sir kasi napansin ko dun sa schedule of load na pinakita mo Sir sa cable ay mas maliit yung ground conductor na ginamit mo Sir, halimabawa nito 4Cx10mm + 6mm.....

      Salamat boss..base sa mga nakitang Kong design ibaiba sizing eh. Nagrange sya Ng 125% to 200%. Kaya nakakalito rin. Hindi ko p rin makita ung standard nya para sana may reference tyo.

      Ang main ay ung 100Amp n panel, sub-panel ung 70Amp. Una boss calculate mo po muna kung kaya p ng 100Amp n panel m kung icoconnect m ung 70Amp Sub panel. Possible, baka magpalit k rin ng main breaker pg overload n. Dun magdedepend ung size ng cable m.

    sir, napansin ko lang sa sizing ng conductor and breaker, na multiply mo na ng 2.5x for breaker and 1.25 for cable yung highest motor pero sinama mo padin sya sa other motor loads. Summation of AHUs kasi ung ginamit mo. ibig sabihin twice mo nagamit ung highest motor. pls. advise if correct.

    Engr. May itatanong Lang ako tungkol dito sa motor namin na ang power ay 250kW at 380v/60hz. Ang rating kasi ng fuse sa disconnection is only 530Amp. So far matagal na itong gumagana at ni minsan wala namang problema at Kung babasihan ko ang table from PEC ito ay may current rating na 1424.7 amps based on the mutiplier of 300%. Can you give me further explanation why the German company used only 530Amps instead of 1424.7 or 1600A? Which based on the computation? Thank you.

      Good day boss! I assumed 3phase circuit yn motor mo. bale ang calculated current is 446.87 Amp @ 85% pf.. As per PEC and disconnect switch is 1.15% of calculated current, so multiply mo ung 446.87 x 1.15 = 513.9 Amp. So, pasok ung rating ng fuse mo. Sana nakatulong explaination ko. God bless

    Sir pasensya na sa mga comment ko Sir, actually gusto ko lang din malinawagan open naman siguro ikaw Sir sa mga ganito. Medyo naguluhan lang ako Sir dun sa approach mo dito tungkol sa derating factor, kasi imbes na lumiit yung value tumaas. Kasi di ba Sir from the from derating dapat bababa, eh from 26.4 A naging 43.15 A kaya medyo nalito ako. Dun sa isang video mo Sir na Lighting at Receptacle Panel maganda nman ang pagkakapaliwanag mo dun Sir, yung ampacity ng cable ang minultiply sa derating factor unlike dito yung computed na min. ampacity dinivide nman sa derating factor. Pero ok naman din Sir nalito lang ako nung una kasi derating pero tumaas kasi naging 43.15A. Isa pa Sir hindi ba dapat yung 26.4A ang gagamitin na value instead na 21.12A? Salamat uli Sir sa mga video.....good job Sir!!!

Napansin ko kasi parang magkaiba yung solution mo sa pagcalculate ng Minimum ampacity ng cable @10:17 sa video na to kaysa sa "Feeder cable and Circuit Breaker Sizing for Lighting & Receptacle Panel (LP Panel) NEC PEC @ 12:16".       Kung tinutukoy m boss ung derated values.. magkaiba talaga. Kc iba ung location ng panel nila. Ung s mga motor loads may part Ng cable route n nasa outside building.. ung s lp panel.. ung routing Ng feeder nya nasa loob lng ng building.kaya magkaiba ung derating factors nila.

    Engr. tungkol dun sa environmental condition, yung sa binanggit mo na max. and min. ambient temperature, ang max. temp sa sample mo Sir na environment ay 50, tapos may pinakita ka din Sir na table ng description ng cable kung paano ito ininstall tapos may corresponding na derating factor. Napansin ko Sir parang walang relation yung value ng max. ambient temperature dun sa table nagkataon lang na 50 deg C din kasi ang installation ng cable mo Sir ay exposed sa outside air.

      Sa PEC ba Sir may table din ng derating factor base sa description ng cable installation? Ang nakita ko lang na table dun Sir ay yung sa ambient temperature tapos column ng temperature rating ng conductor. Tama ba Sir? Mayron din ba Sir na derating factor ng grouping sa PEC?

      Ung min & max ambient temperature is base dto sa saudi. May relationship ung max temperature kc ang condition dto pag summer umaabot talaga Ng 50 deg. Kung napansin m, binangit ko n Kung San k nagppraktis, kailangan nating alamin ung min&max ambient temperature. Kc dun tyo magbase Ng derating factors natin.
