    Ganito ang pag sizing ng mga aircon.
    Single phase 1.5Hp ,230v ACU is an HVAC category equipment with compressor and hermetically sealed. May FLC itong 10A ayon sa PEC 4.30.14.2 (2017 revision) Ang branch conductor size nito ay 125% x 10A=12.5A . Base sa PEC 3.10.2.6B(16)/75°C you can use 2.0mm2 TW or Thhn. Subalit ito ay motor at may kaakibat na may in rush current at ang 2.0mm2 ay pang ilaw lamang kayat susundin mo ang next higher size na 3.5mm2. Ang OCPD nito ay gumagamit ng (175%-225% derating factor) ayon sa PEC 4.40.3.2(a).Kayat ang ocpd ng 1.5hp acu ay 2.25%xFLC (10A) =22.5A. Ang tamang sizes ng 1.5hp acu ay 3.5mm2@20a cb.
    Rule of thumb sa pag calculate at size ng ocpd value. Ayon sa code hindi ka allowed na tumaas sa 22.5A na calculated value mo. Sa halip sa next lower standard ka na 20A cb. O kaya puedi kang mag pagawa ng customized na 22.5A cb instead.
    Kung nais mong gamitin ang 175% x 10A =17.5 A ang OCPD mo ayon sa code ng PEC 4.40.3.2(a) ay 15A kung hindi ito nag nuissance tripping ang breaker mo palagi at nagiinit ang wire size sa 2.0mm2@15A cb.
    A design engineer will have his best discretion to use 20A @3.5mm2 TTHHN instead of 15A@2.0mm2 THHN for 1.5hp ACU unit for safety purpose.

      Summimg up 3000+1218+2300
      =6518va ni label mo ng Total net computed load. Sa computation mo nmn nang Main circuit breaker and service entrance conductor same sa part ng ACU ginamit mo ang 250% full load current ng single phase motor. TANONG?ano ang connection sa pag compute ng net computed load 6518va kung Hindi nsma sa computation ng Main circuit breaker at service entrance conductor saan napunta un 6518va?Note pde n pla mag compute ng Main breaker ampacity at conductor size ng HINDI mag compute nang Total Net computed load.

    Sa presentation when you are sizing your wires and breaker always use PEC 3.10.2.6(b)(16)
    Since ang total computed load current mo ay 43A. Tumama ka naman dahil ang rated current sa table ay 55A at 14mm2.
    Rule of thumb ng pag gamit ng PEC 3.10.2.6(b)16 ay
    1. Kung 100A or less ang rated current mo default ka sa 60°C column.
    2. Kung 100A and above default ka sa 75°C column. Ang mga motor dito ay may exception. Kung ang motor mo ay less than 100A at hindi type BDC at may naka saad sa terminal temp na 60°C default ka sa 60°C column otherwise 75°C ang mga motor mo.
    3. Ang 90°C ay exclusively use for derating purposes only.

Bakit po sa mga industrial company sir ang electrical distribution panel or electrical power panel po nila, ang nka design nila na main breaker sa panel ay 80A at may more or less 15 branches breaker na may tig 20A na rating kada isa, ang tanung ko lng po sir ay hindi ba masyadung mababa yung 80A na main para sa 15 branches na may tig 20A na rating? gusto ko lng po maliwanagan panu po nila na compute yun o design na po talaga nila yan o may mga standard ba???

      Sir ang mga industrial company ay may malalaking 3 phase power load at mga single phase load Ang 80A mo sa main breaker ay mallit po yan para sa industrial power load. Mukhang sa commercial load po ata ang input data nyo. May mga standard equivalent ang sizing ng breaker at wires base sa PEC.Thanks po.

    Dito sa aming lugar residential area. Ang mga electrical meters nasa labas na ng bahay may sariling poste na nakakabit ang mga metro na mayroon circuit breaker na 30 Amperes lang bawat metro. Bale wala rin kung tataasan ko Main Breaker ko sa bahay kc 30A lang nkalagay sa metro

      Single-phase Motors
      Single phase motors are the electrical devices with output power around 1HP (Horse power). These are mostly single phase induction motors. It plays a vital role in domestic applications. Most of these domestic applications are fans, electric toys, blowers, centrifugal pumps, washing machines and so on.
      When supplying a single phase voltage to the stator of these machines, the stator will produce flux. This flux rotates and cuts the rotor conductors. Due to this an EMF is induced. As the rotor circuit is closed the current flows through the rotor conductor. This rotor current will cause rotor flux. These rotor fluxes also rotate in opposite direction as the stator flux. The interaction of these two fluxes leads to a resultant torque which rotates the motor. But, the two fluxes (stator and rotor fluxes) are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. Due to this the resultant torque cancels with each other. Therefore, the motor will not rotate. It is the reason the single phase motors do not self-start.
      To start these single phase motors auxiliary winding or starting winding is used additionally with normal running field winding. The auxiliary winding is placed with a phase shift of 90° to the running winding and physically connected in parallel to the running winding. There are various methods to start these machines. Based on the methods these are classified as split phase motors, shaded pole motors, and reluctance motors. The split phase motors are again classified as capacitor start motors, capacitor run motors, and capacitor start capacitor run motors.

    Gud day sir .. Nagtataka lang po ako kung bakit 250% ang ginamit, kasi alam ko po ginagamit lang yun kapag hahanapin ang breaker para lang sa ACU. 25% ang alam ko po multiplier nya kasi po total connected load + (25% of largest motor).. D ko lang din po sure baguhan lang din ako sa electrical :D opinion ko lang po to ;D

      250% is used as a multiplier for the biggest motor load. Sa computation kasi ng main, kinakailangan sufficient ang allowance mo para i sustain nya ang kuryente o boltahe na kinakailangan, especially kapag sabay sabay na ginamit ang mga appliances at iba pang kagamitan.

      Pagkaalam ko po tama po yung 250 percent para po yan sa gagamitin main breaker ng motor 125 percent nmn para sa wire n gagamitin. 250×(FLC) , 125×(FLA).

    Sir pakiliwanagan po ako sa bakit po may inverse time yung computation mo sa ACU breaker..mcb is up to 63 amp na wala pong inverse time..pede ba yung 175 to 225 percent

    Ask ko lang po sir, if may branches ako na (15A) sa Ilaw, (20A) sa CO, 3 (20A) sa acu at ref, nasa 1hp lang naman ang aircon sir, nacompute ko na base din sa video mo about ACU's, at lastly water pump na (20A).
    So total is 95Ax80%=76A (safety factor)
    So ang gagamitin ko na Main is 80A, tama sir diba?

    di po ba dapat mas mataas ang ampacity ng wire natin kesa sa breaker. example is 60mm2 THHN ampacity neto eh 170 amps, dapat ang breaker neto is about 150. kasi bago pa mareach ng wire ang peak load neto at bago pa ito malusaw o masunog eh mag tritrip na ating breaker? kasi ung sa graph na binigay niyo is ung 60mm na wire ang breaker na nakalagay is 175? lusaw na ang wire mo pero di pa nag tritrip breaker mo. Ask ko lang po. Ty Ty

      @@junauxtv thank u sir! Puede ko ba malaman kung ano ang magiging epekto kung maliit ang wire at mataas ang amperahe ng breaker. Puede rin po ba sir gumamit ng 1" na pvc pipe para sa underground service entrance, 60 cm ang lalim from the ground. Maraming salamat sir!

    Boss kinuha mo sa PEC hindi mo pa sinunod ang example ng main fuse or breaker. Sa example kapag fuse 60A at kapag breaker 50A. Dapat explain mo bakit.
