I really like the color palette in rehydrated more than the original, nothing against the originals visuals, but I feel like the original felt bright but at the same time dull.
I think those duller colors better matched the show's aesthetics
MaxPaynefan1 maybe classic sponge bob, but for modern spongebob I think a brighter color palette fits better.
Yup, vibrant colors will always beat dull colors. Something the devs of Super Mario 64 DS should've known

I hope that they add a spinning animation when you hit a jellyfish instead of it just exploding.
10:15 dead robot in the grass. Very very nice detail, hope to see more of those throughout the game.
Right? If they want to take some creative liberties like that, I don't mind at all! We already see the occasional missile or tar-tar sauce bottle in the ground, so this is a cool detail too!
The new sound effect for collecting shiny objects was actually cut from the original

I REALLY hope that once this game comes out and it sells really well the developers will decide to remake the 2004 movie game called:
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Videogame: ReGoobered!
Also it would be cool if we had Patchy and Potty in more Videogames
The spongebob movie game and battle for bikini bottom were the first 2 videogames i ever played i was 4 when i got em as a bundle i love both of the games and wish the movie game was either ported remastered or remade and put on switch ps4 xbox one and pc

Enemies chase you much more slowly then the original game, either a temporary thing, or unnecessary nerf.
The shower curtains not blowing in the wind at the boss level kinda bothered me but I’m sure they’ll change that before the game is out.
I just hope they make the bosses a bit tougher and give u the option before u start the game to lower difficulty.
I'm surpised no one has mentioned the fact that you can now ground-pound robots while jumping in the air and pressing B. Something you couldn't do in the original and it gives a bit of relevance to the move as it was quite useless in the orignal game in terms of combat (aside from destroying the G-Love robots). It was the first change I noticed while watching the demo.
A pretty interesting design change nonetheless. Hopefully they bring in super bounce as well.

I still don't like how bright and saturated the colors are, kinda hurts my eyes and is too different to the original artstyle that resembled the show more.
It'll either change with time or i'll get used to it.
Also, is it me or hitting the little robots doesn't launch them as far as it used to? It was really satisfying to hit them and make them fall from the plataform.
It’s not that bad
Small detail i really miss is that tikis and robots have bits and pieces that bounce around for a few seconds after being destroyed in the original. In this version they kinda just explode into a cloud of dust.

over all I think the game is pretty good. One thing that I don't like is related to Spongebob himself. His body is almost a perfect square whereas in the original game his lower body was more narrow than the top of his body and that makes this one look more like a toddler than he normally does. I'm sure I'll get over it eventually but that is the one big thing that caught my attention

For #10, I think the reason why some platforms dont have grass like you said is because of "sunlight" just like in real life, if an area doesnt have enough sunlight, nothing will grow there. That's why many flatforms on the sides of the map dont have grass. Even the raising platforms wouldnt have it because they're originally under the goo, and most likely sunlight cant pass through the goo. Or maybe I'm just overthinking

I don’t like how the camera pans throughout the cutscene. When the cutscene pans through jellyfish fields... the original definitely has more character to it. It’s the same when the camera goes to a characters face when talking, the original goes back and forth with character faces which was cool imo
The fodder was a little bigger in the original than spongebob
again they missed the opportunity to add water coming down from the showerhead during the king jellyfish boss battle, ik small details are easy to miss but it would make sense since there is sound indicating that he was indeed taking a shower..
another spongebob animation detail - his double jump, it currently makes him look less lively and too stiff. anyone with me here?
The Demo was in Pre-alpha, so they'll probably add more changes later on during development.

I can confirm with 99% certainty that King Jellyfish *DOES* spawn more Jellyfish in the original game. I'm absolutely *certain* I've seen it happen before. Though it might require not always hitting him on the first opportunity you have to do so (I can't remember).
I can second this. I played the original two years ago and it does happen after you hit him.
I have some details you missed. Like the floating tiki as a bubble under it keeping it afloat which in the original they had a random ball underneath them so a bubble works. Also, the Duplicatotron is shooting out cans and not buckets. And also!! Keep up the good work. X3
One thing I noticed was that after SpongeBob hits an enemy with his ground slam attack (forgot the name), the robots would lie on the ground for a second before spawning out, simulating that they'd just been crushed by something. This is opposed to the original which just had them break into pieces.
Once they’re like 2/4 or maybe like 3/4 finished with the game they should remake the original trailer that came out
I think it’s difficult to analyze something like this in comparison to the final game when what was shown was Pre-Alpha gameplay. That means literally everything could get more polish. Textures, animations, and sound effects could all change by the time the game is in our hands, so the things in this video may not be final. That’s the significance of it being Pre-Alpha footage.
Personally, a change I hope they make is making some of the bosses (especially near endgame) more difficult to beat. As memorable as they all are, the majority of them are very easy.

Hopefully this isn’t the case, but there was a lot of stuff missing from the game when you watch demo footage. Like at least from my recollection there were two major areas missing and I hope that won’t be the case in the full game. I want to see Patrick working his way through the Jellyfish Cave in full HD
You missed that the Boss Hud is also get hit when the king jellyfish get hit

Speaking of spongebob squarepants movie game I wonder if this updated version of the game gets popular then the 🍿 version of spongebob that came out on Xbox and GameCube, then for my opinion the update version of the 🍿 game might come out in somewhere in 2021 or 2022.

I don't understand why they feel like adding Shiny Objects to reveal hidden secrets. o3o the whole point of a hidden secret is the fact it's hidden. It's not like old 2d zelda where a bunch of the bombable walls had no show and there wasn't anything unique about the area to tell you where the walls where. 3d games very much can make areas look suspicious just by being away from what's the intended way to go.

When I was at gamescom, I've seen a clear version of Monsoon (2:42), I took a pic and posted a meme from it on reddit r/bfbb. Ngl, the new design gives me odd feelings about the new Monsoon.

During conversations they had close up of the characters who were talking in the original game but they don't in the remake

i can't quite put my finger on it, but there is just something I don't like about his new design. The animations just don't look fluid in my opinion. They're just too stiff. Besides Squidward, his nose is the best part of the game.

It's a remaster, but *technically* it's a remake. Remasters just take the original game and replace the assets. This one's being rebuilt from scratch.

I love the way the game is coming along. However, I do t like how float spongebob is and how when you jump in a certain direction you can't change direction without jumping again. Also, the ground pound looks a bit to slow and the animation is meh. I hope these things get fixed
