The Cut Content Of: SpongeBob SquarePants Battle for Bikini Bottom - TCCO

- This game is often thought of as being the very best SpongeBob game, because of its large amount of fun content. But, when making the game, Heavy Iron Studios planned some features that didn't quite make the cut, and were removed from the final game meaning you don't get to see them. Today we take a look at ideas that were left behind during the concept stages, such as a boss fight with a robot Squidward and a Glove World theme park level. These may be added to the remake, "SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated", which has been stated to include "Restored content that was cut from the original game like the Robo Squidward boss fight and more." Many are nostalgic towards this game and would love to see these cut ideas come to life in the future. So here's a video that will allow you to prepare for this to eventually happen!

Battle for Bikini Bottom is still one of the best games out there. Mostly it's Music, Graphics, and even Lip Syncing.
Every SpongeBob game from the PS2 is either ironically perfect or unironically perfect. No exceptions.
The whole game was voice acted! That's metal gear solid level awesomeness! Heck, the plot was almost as convoluted. XD
Only change that is ABSOLUTELY necessary is the addition of the TRUE Mr. Krabs VA in the remake.
And Mermaid Man.

I think they meant the NPC version, not the playable version
Sharlo Bun he means sandy in her suit in the hub world when your not playing as her

That episode is post the game’s original release. I doubt they will include it, as the FOP was not cannon at the time.

The movie game might as well have been an expansion pack with how identical it was, so I'm hoping that maybe they'll make it DLC for Rehydrated. A hopeful dream, yes, but it'd be cool. Also the only biggest problems with the movie game was the missions that felt like filler content, those can kiss my ass.

Night of 100 frights is a no brainer. Definitely in my top 10 PS2 games of all time.
This was my favorite Playstation 2 game during my childhood, I am so hyped for the remake
A bit of the unused content (textures, models, dialogue) is actually just difficult to come by or at least acknowledge its in game. Some of the cut content with concept art made its way into the GBA edition.
The remake has massive potential, just some of the levels and content won’t be recognizable because a lot of players probably never picked up the gameboy version.
Oh yeah, i remember i owned the GBA version a very long time ago (i don't have it anymore) and there were some things that definitely didn't appear on the console one, like for example, the robo Squidward boss.

I think I know what the anchor could've been used for. It could've been related to the anchor arms texture. So in the unused SpongeBob steelpants phase the anchor could've been used for spongebob to get the anchor arms.
The Mrs. Puff “unused” dialogue at 7:10 is used, just when talking to her at a different location than the first one. I think it’s in rock bottom but I don’t remember for sure.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure if you talk to Mrs.Puff as Sandy in rock bottom, you’ll bear her say the line “howdy mrs.Puff”
that unused Robo Spongebob animation is actually a default animation used to test if the model is skinned to the bones correctly. i’ve done a lot of 3D animation and see that animation a ton.
„Go SpongeBob it's your birthday!” And „Hard as a rock.” Are used in the rehydrated version.
Also „Wow i'm feeling bigger than normal.” probably would been used for the Sundane power-up.

Omg this game and the SpongeBob The Movie game were AMAZING
I've played the GBA version of BFBB and they have a Robot Squidward boss. He attacks by slamming his tentacles down to hit you when you're on the ground and shooting musical notes at you, and you defeat him by using Mystery to spit Temper bots at the head while using the tentacles as platforms.
Great video! This got me more excited for the remake! Can't wait to see all the cut content get revived. However, I got a question. Are you sure the dialogue for Spongebob when he says, _"Go, Spongebob! It's your birthday!"_ is unused? I'm pretty sure it's in the game. As far as I remember, he says that what he respawns by the last checkpoint. I don't think he laughs, though. Not from what I remember, at least.

The unused take of Mrs. Puff line ("Well, if it isn't Sandy Cheeks") sounds like Sandy caught her in the middle of a crime and is now about to brutally kill her

One thing many people don't know is that the "temp" texture is actually used widely throughout the game, it's just invisible :) It was mainly used as the texture for invisible walls, OOB death planes, and low-poly shapes used to represent the collision of otherwise highly-detailed models. They cut the laugh I think
The used version has no laugh and plays on respawn. The unused version was for besting a boss and has a laugh
The Mrs.Puff dialogue as well as Squidward and a couple others were used, but only in certain areas of the game

The “go spongebob! It’s your birthday!” Dialogue played when I died and respawned. I was on the PS2 version of the game. That was probably was a glitch tho.

As for new content I'd like to see in the remake,
Bronze and Silver Spatulas. How do they work? Think of them like socks.
There are many Bronze Spatulas in levels with a varying amount based on the size of the level. You can see how many you have with an icon next to the level collectable icon or where it would be if there isn't one. If you find them all, they combine (With a little animation that can be cancelled by pressing the jump button) into 4 Silver Spatulas, always. These all promptly fly away, the character you're playing as having a disappointed expression, and gameplay resumes. The Bronze Spatula icon turns into a Silver Spatula icon and you have to get them. There's one in each segment of a level, unless there's more or less than 4. These can be found in hard to reach areas or sock locations if you collected them. Get these, and they combine into an optional Golden Spatula. These are not required for 100% completion but getting all of these spatulas unlocks... something so it's not completely pointless. Probably Smelly Sundaes where Bronze Spatulas would be. I accept criticism.

It is one of the best SpongBob games out there if not the best it's also a really good platformer in general, same can't be said for Lights Camera Sponge which was also made by Heavy Iron Studios and was probably going to be the sequel to BfBB but what I think happened is that THQ or Nickelodeon stepped in and told them to base it off of the SpongBob SquarePants movie so they had to restart everything and reuse stuff from the cancelled sequel therefore making it rushed and just bad.
