    Nice video but I think those coils are getting more compressed due to the large lower collar. I went with Westcott for that reason don't want too much compression on the coils probably make the ride a little more rough. Smooth suspension with the Westcott kit you should give it a try man.

      I wanted to go with the Westcott kit but it was going to be a long wait to order it. I'm planning on going full lift kit next year so this is just a band-aid fix to get rid of the tire rubbing until I can afford a full suspension lift. I'm thinking of going with Bilsteins. Thanks for tuning in bro and thanks for the tip!

    Hi we’re you still rubbing with stocks suspension and after you did the cmc? Because I’m planning to put 33in with stock suspension and do the cmc. The way you had it looks sick. I love the stance

      Hey romangsxr! No, the cmc definitely eliminated the rubbing caused by the combination of the 1.25” spacer and 33’s. You probably will have to do some cutting and remoulding part of the underbody covers (check out my video of it here youth.be/qKAcfN_WxsI ). I had to install a lift kit to get rid of the rubbing caused by the installation of my front bumper guard. Now my truck is 100% free from any rubbing! One more note to add, I am not sure if you have the TRD Pro, but there might be differences between trim types as far as clearance.

    I put 255/75/17 tires on zero offset Method wheels and had very minor rubbing in my 2020 Trd Pro at full flex while turning. The rub was so minimal, it didn’t even do it every hard flex.
    I switched back to the OEM Trd Pro wheels and added 285/75/16 tires, and unbelievably I have zero rub while full flex. None at all. I guess offset is the biggest culprit of rubbing on Tacomas.

      It could be the tire design and also, note that the TRD Pro wheels have a +4mm offset so that brings the tires in slightly which could be enough to cause the rubbing. If it's just minor, I'm sure it's just the wheel well covering so that can be solutioned pretty easily.

      I said switching back to the Trd Pro wheels made the rubbing stop and I’m using a larger tire than with the Methods.

    You mentioned you had tire rub after you installed your front bumper, was this with stock size wheels? I haven't lifted my truck yet and I'm wondering if the bumper is going to affect my stock set-up?

      Hey Blood Striper, no, I already had the 285s on when I installed the bumper guard & winch. As long as you don't slap on a wheel spacer, it will be fine with the 265s.

    Great video! I might consider doing the same for my 2021 trd pro.

    is it necessary to replace the needle bearing with clam shell whenever you lift the front?

    • @modXELA
      @modXELA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey revadan, I think that it will have to be replaced eventually whether your lifted or not. But if you're already lifting, might as well replace it. Are you getting any vibrations? I haven't noticed any vibrations or knocking sounds on mine but when I do the 3" lift, I will replace it then which I'm not planning on doing yet this year but will do it right away if any signs of vibrating start to happen.

      @@modXELA not yet i have a 2020 and planning to lift it maybe 2-3inches, a bit concerned about that bearing ..

    • @modXELA
      @modXELA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@revadan I would strongly suggest to get it done at the same time when you do you lift. It's not an expensive replacement and should only take an additional couple of hours to do.

    Do you have any vibtation when the vehicle is cold? I did that leveling kit. 1 week later it vibrates for the 1st 15 minutes of driving.

    • @modXELA
      @modXELA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joe, no mine is fine. Yours vibrate even when you're not moving? Do you mean vibrating instead of rattling? I doubt it's the lift kit. Could be air intake or spark plugs or it could be anything.

    • @joepatino6483

      @@modXELA It's definitely a vibration . I think its the drive shafts . I added the crossmember drop kit. I still have it. Weird thing is it goes away after 10 to 15 min of driving . My truck has 34k on it . Like I said it started 1 week after the leveling kit. If anybody else has a fix let me know.

      @@joepatino6483 I would crawl under at cold start to see if it can be pin pointed. I will keep a close eye on mine in the event that I get it as well. I'll definitely ask around and see if anybody has the same issue and hopefully has a solution for you.
