    Pro tip don't order a cheaper kit on Amazon or ebay, ordered mine and it doesn't quite fit so it took 4 hours and some modification on top of swaybar removal to get one side done. Looks good once it's all on but man was it a pain. But this video is defiently great and shows everything you need to do to get the job done!

    This is one of the best DIY videos I've ever seen. I did front spacers on my 2020 4WD Tacoma this AM and it went just as you described.
    One note: If you go with a 2" front lift like I did the spacers blocks are about 1" thick (26.0mm actual) but the studs on the strut are 29.0mm long. The spacer won't seat against the bottom of the strut tower unless you take about 1/8" (4.0mm actual) off the studs.

    Hi Philip, first of all thanks for posting this video. I know it helps a lot of Taco owners who wants to do level/lift. Im thinking of installing just the 2” level kit for my 13 taco. My question is , with the 2” level kit for the front, do you think it will clear a 285 75 16 tire with the 16” OEM TRD OFF wheels i have right now.I asked a popular shop/garage in our area and the guy said that using oem wheels it will rub the UCA. Just want some opinion from knowledgeable person like you. Hope you can read this and share some of your ideas. Thanks for your time Philip !

    Hi Phillip, I bought a 2006 Taco 4D 2WD PreRunner Sport and it was lifted 2"-3" on all wheels. The truck drives very rough, stiff and bumpy. The previous owner said this condition is normal since the truck was lifted. I don't see any spacers on the front shock absorbers, and there is 2-3" spacer blocks on the rear differential. The front and rear shock absorbers appear to be the stock bleistein shock absorbers. What do you think is causing the stiff suspension? If I want to undo the lift, aside from removing the rear block spacers, how do I restore the flexibility of the front shocks? Thank you very much. Your video is very comprehensive and easy to follow. Keep posting videos.

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't had a issue with the rear shocks being too short with a 2 inch block, you can always lower the vehicle on the ground before you reconnect the shock to see how far the shock runs past from the mounting bracket on the bottom. That should give you an idea how far the shock can travel. Good luck! Plz be sure to subscribe, much appreciated!

      FixItPhillip how about the diff drop. Would you have to drop it in the front with small washer spacers. I just see so many leveling kits and some have them some don’t.

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ones I've done for toyota never came with the differential drop washers and longer bolts, its mostly if your front axles are at too much of an angle after the lift is installed, I've the axles are sitting at too much of an angle the CV joints may bind, I've only heard of people encountering that on the earlier Tacomas around 2005 to 2007ish range, never hurts to order a kit with the washers and bolts for the drop just in case you have binding issues, but I've never personally had that issue with a 2 or 3 inch lift.

    When I removed the U bolts and shocks and began to lower the axle the leaf pack moved with it as if it was seized or something any ideas on what I should do? It’s a 2019 Tacoma Trd Sport 2wd and also do you think I need to upgrade to longer shocks with a 2” block?

      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only thing holding the leaf springs to the rear did are the ubolts, there is a little center nipple that keeps the rear diff and the leaf spring centered, maybe its a little stuck there, should be able to separate the leaf springs and the diff by lowering the diff enough, if it's still stuck you can try prying in between a little. Good luck, my email is fixitphillip88@gmail.com if you have any questions, please be sure to subscribe! Much appreciated

      Also I haven't had an issue yet with stock shocks being too short with a 2 inch block.

    Hi Phillip, I have the same lift but Tacoma has a humming noise coming from the back, did multiple alignment and tire balance but it’s still there. Alignment say that the rear are 0.30 toe and -0.12 on the other side. Are my axle causing this issue? Thanks

    Is there wheel alignment required?

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you do it the this way i do it its not interfering with alignment adjustments.
      If you were to loosten the lower control arm camber bolts or a tie rod adjustment nut then youll throw it off and need one for sure.
      Its still always better to be on the safe side to get an alignment done so your tires last as long as possible, but ive never had the alignment thrown off much (if any) by doing this way on the video.

    Won't Using a leveling kit as a lift kit for the front and rear make the ride of the overall suspension shitty?🤔

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The rear blocks just sits in between the rear dif and leaf spring. Not adding stiffer rear leaf springs so it doesnt affect suspension. I wouldnt go more than 2 to 3 inches in the front if you still have stock front spindles. Anything more than that can affect suspension/stiffness/ride quality. So 2 - 3 inch spacers in front is ok and i havent experienced ride problems or customer complaints. Spacers sit on the outside of strut and spring so not much if any ride difference. Also if you put even higher blocks in the rear then you may need longer shocka as well. Thanks for asking, hope that answers your question.

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The local toyota dealership has been bringing their newer tacomas to do 2 to 3 inch spacer installs also. Then they put fancy bigger wheels and tires on, then sell the trucks. Probably for more money im sure lol.
