    Remember to take your SD Card out before popping the camera out. Great Tutorial and awesome product - HIGHLY recommend. The difference is more than stark. The installation is straight forward but takes gentle and patient hands. I had to take a moment to breathe when unscrewing the camera from the thread. The glue was also very difficult to remove and really affected my ability to turn the camera to focus. Overall, not this guys fault - just info for the next dude/ette that attempts. Thanks for the product and tut.

    Thank you. I have been using Wyze Cam v3 for recording bird nesting activities inside a nesting box. Besides pixelated videos due to low light, the focus was not crisp. After following your instructions I am now focused from 4”-7” and have a much better quality recording for my documentaries.

    I just tested this on the V4 and it does work. The steps are a little bit different, but it does work. One big difference was that there were no rubber plugs on top of the first set of 3 screws.

    Thanks for posting this video! I was able to adjust my camera for close focusing on a birdfeeder using it - thank you! Only additional tip I found helpful was that I was able to remove most of the glue sealing the lens barrel in position using a dremel with very fine tip rather than just cranking on it, making that step a bit easier.

    Just gonna say this. Received two of these in the mail yesterday. I installed one (Wyze cam v3) and wow game changer. If you need to see something close up and in focus this is the ticket! Thanks much def well worth it. The glue sucks though.

    I should have read the comments first. STEP 1: Remove SD card if installed. (I dislodged the tray from the circuit board.) If you happen to do this, make sure the SD tray is aligned with the SD slot on the bottom of the casing when putting everything back together. Thank you for the video! :)

    • @Outlaw_SEO

      Yes, step one is to check if you have a card in the slot and get it out.
      I destroyed the card slot in the first camera I tried installing the ring in.

    Cool...gave this a try....i couldn't grab the rubber plugs in the screw holes, and had to give up there. The plugs eventually got pushed the whole way in and no tweezers or pliars could reach them.
    Might retry later.

    • @fusedlinedesigns
      @fusedlinedesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do you have an air compressor or canned air? You might be able to give it a quick air-blast in the holes and it might pop out the plugs. You can also try to get a really small screw driver, unfold a paperclip, or some other long skinny object and try to pry them out and up. Good luck! At the least you can just pop the cover back on and you still have a functioning camera!

    May I suggest a modification to the instructions? Do not use a flat head screwdriver to remove the rubber plugs. Instead, use a needle to stab the rubber at an angle, 45 degrees or less. The plugs will stick to the needle and can then be pulled out easily. If a sewing needle is not available, I guess a hypodermic needle might work as well. I was tempted to use a push pin but the needle stolen from my wife's sewing box was much thinner and sharper, though.

    • @drkenb6097
      @drkenb6097 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I couldn't agree more. I tried using a flat blade screwdriver as in the video, and wound up with all three of the plugs dep inside. Getting them out took me, literally, more than an hour and a half. And there is no way to loosen the screw with that darn plug inside the cylinder. I wound up having to take a small awl, bending the tip into a hook, and then fishing around for a bit until I finally got a good enough grab to pull the plug. On my second cam, I wyzed up and used the tip of an eXacto knife to pry them out.

    Awesome Mod. Thank you for sharing.
    I was able to make the mod, but the image now has a tunnel view (or rounded black images in corners of the image).
    Do you have any suggestion on how prevent/get rid of the 'tunnel' affect?

    • @fusedlinedesigns
      @fusedlinedesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, glad you got it working!!
      The tunnel vision you are talking about is due to the focus ring being in view. You can slightly see it on my video too but it’s not that noticeable.
      First, I would ensure the focus ring is pressed all the way on. The best way to do this is to unscrew the lens with the focus ring a few turns so it sticks out further. Then press the focus ring all the way on. This will help reduce how much of it is in-view.
      The other thing you can do if it is still bothering you is to get the focus right where you want it, then carefully pull the focus ring off without twisting and accidentally changing the focus. Then there won’t be a tunnel view at all.
      Hope that helps!!!
      Nate
