  • My review of the Benchmade Claymore. This was an unexpected surprise in that I didn’t expect to like this as much as I do. The action on this is amazing, and the combo blade is pretty useful on this one given the blade size.

    Morse code is FTE for "Front Toward Enemy" which is written on claymore landmines. A pretty cool little touch!

    I waited and bought the plain edge. First benchmade I've bought in awhile. I love it. Its a killer knife and the Grivory ended up being something I like about it.

    The Claymore definitely has a more erect spring and thankfully isn't so flaccid. 😂 The Claymore definitely has a cool tactical look to it. Hopefully they do end up releasing a non-serrated model. It's really cool how they put the "Front Towards Enemy" Morse Code on the front of the scales. Great video once again Triple E. TH-cam's notifications are messed up again so I am late on last 3 videos. I hadn't seen any notifications so I figured I would check the channel and there's 3 new videos that I didn't get any notifications for. Have a great day!

    Switchblade style blades bring me back to my misspent youth. Unfortunately, I feel like people stare at me when I carry any knife especially a OTF or OTS. Good review.

    Love combo edges, serrated edges gets the cut started more rapidly on materials like rope or belting materials. Would love to know the spring material and longevity of it if left compressed for long periods. What may be a strong open can become weak if the spring is not of great quality.

    • @KB-kw8ni
      @KB-kw8ni 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The compression and decompression cycling is what weakens a spring it has nothing to do with how long the spring stays compressed with the blade in the folded closed position

  • @gregkeeler645

    I really like it! I'm not offended by the materials, but I do wish they had a non serrated version.

    What I don't like about the new Benchmade Claymore Auto is the swell at the front of the handle. That handle swell is designed to prevent your hand from slipping up onto the blade while aggressively stabbing/shanking someone. But that handle swell is very annoying when you're trying to choke up on the blade to do more precise EDC type of cuts because you have to place your thumb over that raided point at the top of that handle swell. This new Benchmade Claymore is definitely more tactical than practical!!!

    I'm rot really into auto's, nor into combo-blades 😂, but having said that: for anyone who is this seems a solid option! Also, tried to find out what that morse code means and unless I'm mistaken what is says there is 'FTE' which could stand for 'full time equivalent' but since we're not in the realm of HR here probably stands for 'Full Time Employment'. Thanks for sharing! 👍

    OK value at $200, or less. My hands aren't particularly sensitive, but there are some mildly irritating sharp edges, easily felt between the scales. Paint on the blade is rough and grainy, but easily smoothed out with a scrubber pad. Opened 2 longnecks, and can already see the coating chipping off the spine. Used a sphericle dremel bit to relieve the inside edges of the scales, so it's much more comfortable in hand. Needs another 8-10mm of blade, but BM is now too woke to offer folders over 3.5". Submitted review on the BM site last week, but it has not been posted, and probably won't be :(

    $195.50 for CPM D2 and Grivory handles, is Benchmade out of their fucking mind!!!!! I know that Benchmade is an American knife company making all of their products in America, that being said Benchmade still needs to be more reasonable and at least somewhat competitive with their pricing!!!!

    The big draw back for me is the combo blade. I understand the advantages of a serrated edge. I own several combo edge knives (like maybe 4) they don't see much use. The next thing that keeps me from gravitating towards it is the Grivory handles. The sound it makes with the really nice action is not what I want to hear. It sounds hallow and cheap. If it was much less expressive I would consider it. But there are too many better knives out there at that price point.

  • @The6077
    @The6077 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The handle mskes it cheasy. I also think that the turret is superior

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree the turret is a better knife overall but it’s a completely different style of knife and in a different price range. It is also discontinued.
