Everybody hates serrations!!! I believe they are a great extra tool to any knife blade for ripping stuff apart quickly. Yes, they are hard to sharpen, but from experience, if in an emergency situation (car crash for seatbelts, fast cutting flexcuffs, cutting stiff rope, etc) the serrations are your best friend. I have serrations on my Emerson CQC7 and wouldn’t have it any other way. Benchmade and Emerson both have the best serrations. Nice review!!!
I missed the premier !! Great looking knife !! I would definitely prefer this without the serrations , but it’s still very nice . One of my favorite colorways . Thanks for the video !! Take care Zach .
This is a nice knife. I think I am going to wait for a non serrated blade version. It seems like the action is going to be great. Thanks for sharing this with us my friend!
The blade profile and color scheme reminds me a lot of my boost 590sbk-1 federal exclusive, kind of like a auto upgrade. Looking at this knife at first I thought the grip contour was kind of weird but then it sort of reminded of the shape of the pull initiator of the M18A1 so that makes sense.
I really wish they’d show road workers hands on these things just bought my uncles one in straight and one in serrated my dad gutted a deer with one last year. I’m buying myself one
It’s crazy to hear a knife flew out of someone’s hand! It must have a really hard kick 😅 That knife totally reminds me of something from the late 80’s, or early 90’s, it has a very retro vibe (the serrations don’t help) it’s cool!
A friend of mine was demoing houses. He found a Springer leverlock and an old Susco picklock in the wall. He told me I could have the picklock if I could close it (of course) and when I opened it again I almost lost it. You don't get it as much with newer autos, the coil spring lacks the same punch as the handmade leaf, but the old ones would absolutely come out of your hand if you don't have a grip on them.
Trying to find the titanium screws for this, like they have for the Osborne and others. Have a all black one. Looking for blurple or red screws. Dying to know if they use the same screws in most of their knives
If it's a benchmade claymore, does it come with a benchmade rhoomba and a stuffed benchmade butterfly full of tannerite for when the alphabet boys no-knock your door at 3am?
I handled one today. The "plastic" handle was pretty solid. I was expecting it to have some flex in the middle. It's good, but for a knife this size, I would pick the Gerber 06 instead
You will have an inferior knife in my opinion, the mass produced Gerber line isn't comparable to Benchmade quality. Not to mention, the Gerber 06 Auto has an weaker spring, so the deployment of the knife opening if quite slow compared to something like my Pro-Tech TR-3 Swat. That being said, the Gerber 06 Auto has been carried by military and law enforcement, so regardless of what i say, it is a great work horse of a knife. The Gerber is a great tank of an auto, just wish they would of put a stronger spring in it. Last thing, i just don't like safety switches on a knife, just my opinion. There is a large percentage chance that the blade will not deploy in your pocket due to how far you have to push the button, and even if it did, there will be no injury, possibly just a small rip in the jeans if that.
@@bullridermusic2054 I hear you. I've had about a dozen automatic Benchmades and I love my Pro-Techs. But for my use, the 06 is hands down the best hard-use auto that I own (that's why I have 4). Benchmade button locks wear out and develop blade play, and the Pro-Tech blades just aren't big enough for my work. Gerber's heat treat has outdone all my other s30v blades, especially my Buck's. I don't use the safety when it's closed, but I will when I'm getting rough with it. That big button-lock is great for gloves, but it's also easier to push when you're in the middle of using it. It hasn't happened to me, but I'd rather not risk it. I agree, the spring is on the slow side, but it's always been reliable for me. I'd rather have that, than some hi-powered spring that might snap (that's only happened on my Fox Predator). It's tied with my Buck CSART-Pro and my Benchmade Contego for my toughest work knife.
I ordered online... hopefully they’ll approve due to not being current law enforcement/military. Will I have to go to a shop? We’ll see. I’m in la, la, land Los Angeles.
I have a mystery maybe you can help me solve. I was in a knife store and the guy said he had the new paramilitary 2 in S45VN. I immediately said wrap it up and purchased it as it was only 160 before my discount. He said he figured they were switching to S45VN because it wasn't a sprint run and it didn't cost more than the older s30v versions. I have looked everywhere and the only ones I have found in S45VN are a sprint run where the scales were a green color. This one has black g10, and I can't find any info on spyderco changing their base models to S45VN. Is this an error knife or am I missing something? A guy in a different comment section said he heard a rumor about this. I'm very curious if anyone knows anything else about the switch
I don’t know if they are switching, but a local shop had one in S45VN in stock. Black G10. I kinda hope they don’t make S45 there standard steel, I like S30.
@@jclebedev are you nuts? For the same price S45VN is at least 4 levels higher than S30V. My only concern is the inevitable price jump that will follow.
@@Old_School69 I must be. A more corrosion resistant S30V/S35VN doesn't particularly appeal to my uses. Personally I would have been more interested to see a stainless with better edge stability in thin, fine edges at higher hardness.
