My family does any insane amount of lights too and my tip for making it look really good is to put twinkle lights further into the tree, around the trunk, and regular ones on the outside so you can have two layers of lights and have a wonderful sort of glimmer effect

Is that a common British tree stand, or from one of your families backgrounds? Anyone else in the US have one like that? I LOVE it, it’s so pretty compared to our green metal or plastic “cones”! Those ornaments are spectacular, & they definitely deserve a better title than “balls”...😆! Those are heirloom ornaments. The wreath is PERFECT on your door, what a beautiful gift. I have the same tree stand and I don't know how normal it is for the UK actually, my family have always had it as long as I remember and I can't think what sort of stand my grandparents and friends use for their trees

Finally compromised at 4 which was the biggest I was willing to go but the smallest he was willing to go.
