GIRL!!!!! You wrote and promoted a whole ass book, are taking care of your Mom, learning about and keeping bees, presenting for “the tele”, and even more, and filming it all for TH-cam!!!! You are NOT behind. I always like to say: sometimes it just be like that. Take care boo bear!!! send ur Mom all of our love. ❤
To answer your question at the end: YES!!! I’m face down ass up in the yard any chance I get!!! because I thought I was going to have to move last year and I was doing a lot of traveling so I didn’t tend to my garden at all. Didn’t plant a single thing. So this year I’ve said I’m making up for lost time! 😂🐞🥰
Aww, thank you so much for your incredibly kind words and support! It means a lot to hear such encouragement. It can definitely feel like a whirlwind sometimes, but I'm grateful for all the experiences and the community I get to share them with. Mom sends her love right back! Take care too, and thanks again for brightening my day! 🐻💕
Your neighbors cat is very helpful. It’s fun to watch him enjoy your gardening. Your cats are probably watching from the window and being jealous. The flower pots are beautiful.
Catherine your pots look lovely in front of your window. To sit there just watching the flowers is wonderful. Where did you move the plant to that Toffee was eating?. Ha ha. Thank you Catherine.
Thank you so much, @lynnecleobury8183! ❤️ I'm delighted to hear that you find my gardening videos therapeutic. It's wonderful to know they bring some peace and joy to your day. Happy gardening! 🌼🌿
Absolutely! 🌿🌼 Gardens are always evolving, which is part of their beauty and charm. There's always something new to plant, adjust, or simply admire. Embracing the ongoing journey of gardening is what makes it so fulfilling. Here's to enjoying every stage of your garden's growth! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m from Dublin too and I think the bad weather so far this “summer” has ruined many gardens. So much wind and rain flattening everything but keep going girl, it’s great to get outside and be in your garden ❤
Hello @yvonnestobie-qt2ng! 🍀 It's nice to hear from another Dubliner! ☔️ I agree, the weather has been challenging for gardens this summer. Despite the wind and rain, being outside in the garden is still such a wonderful experience. Thank you for the encouragement-I'll keep at it! Here's to hoping for some sunny days ahead. Take care!
Oh Catherine you are not alone worrying about your neglected garden , I’m in North Cornwall and the rain has been relentless, apart from a few warm days occasionally it’s been grey cool and wet. But you are a little Ray off sunshine and inspire your followers whatever your doing ❤️
Your pots are beautiful and a nice welcome home for you when .you pull in your drive. Gardens are never complete and always evolving ,😊thanks for sharing your process and plans.
Gardening is never "done" . Weeds, deadheading, adding more plants 😊watering .. I love all your beautiful pots and planters ❤ and the floral rain jacket ! So cute ☔ Happy Gardening 👩🌾
I always love visiting with you. Catherine, you are an inspiration to all you know. Enjoy working in your garden. Try not to think of it as work, but that it gives you pleasure. From Florida, USA 🦩
Thank you so much, @sjerzgrl! Your kind words mean a lot to me. 😊 Gardening truly is a joy and a source of pleasure for me, and I'm glad to hear you enjoy visiting with me. Sending sunny greetings back to Florida! 🌞🦩
It is so nice to see someone else use containers! With my age and bad knees and back, planting in the ground has become so hard. Thank you for your wonderful ideas for next year!
Hi Catherine , its been a odd year for all of us. El Nino i say. Here in Ontario Canada it was a cold wet spring. Last week we had high humid temps 40 plus..record breaking then on Sunday it was 13 CHILLY. Crazy weather, so its hit or miss for gardening. My dahlias are coming along so they will have to be my color pop late summer. I wonder for your shady area if ferns would be beautiful and they will multiply and look foresty as they establish. Oh its fun trying new things . Wish you well. One step at a joyful time xo
Last month my garden wash lush and blooming beautifully. This month the heat came and cooked everything . Things are crispy and some are dying. We are working to get a few things from the garden. I have been making pickles. I have a few cantaloupe, egg plant, peppers and tomatoes coming on. That cheers me on. I'm praying for rain. I hope everyone is safe from the heat. 🌲🌺🌲
@irisstormo6913, I'm sorry to hear about the heat affecting your garden! It can be tough to see plants struggle in extreme weather. Your positive outlook with the pickles and the upcoming produce sounds wonderful. I hope you get some rain soon to revive your garden. Stay safe and take care! 🌿🍅🌞
Piece by piece in the garden works well, days of delightful job well done in the sunshine feels good! Your garden is a gardeners garden, something always needing to be done 🪴🌷🌻🌺🥀🌾☘
Thank you, @cheryleteale4902! 😊 Absolutely, piece by piece progress in the garden is so rewarding, especially on sunny days. It's true, a gardener's work is never truly done, but that's part of the joy of tending to a garden. Your kind words mean a lot! 🪴🌷🌻🌺🥀🌾☘
Some years are like that! Enjoy what you get done, and let the other go. You are in a busy season of life and must be good to yourself. Give yourself the Grace you would give a dear friend.
Thank you, @beckid5107! Your words are truly comforting and wise. It's important to prioritize and give ourselves grace, especially during busy seasons. I appreciate your reminder to enjoy what I can accomplish and to be kind to myself. Wishing you a wonderful day!
I’m killing it this year! That being said, I have a very small yard for gardening not much space to work. However, I’m planting up every inch available! ❤🌹
And for sure, gardening is never done, ever. You are making things lovely. Annuals mean next year you have to plant them again. I adore Bacopa. Such a cutie. And that cat, you are allowed to stroke his belly! Wowzers what a love.
You're not the only one late to the party Catherine I'm sure there are many of us lol. I'm not spending so much at the garden centres....my plan is to divide plants I have already to fill spaces around the garden once the flowers are finished. It's very hard not to feel overwhelmed but my thoughts are do litle and do it often.... above all ENJOY the garden journey. Your pots are beautiful 👍
Yes 1 corner that makes you smile. I had a perlagonium inside / shade like for a long time- the foliage always looks great,, but 1 week in the sun, then brought back in and she flowered! Yep lovely bright almost red, hot pink. It’s My favourite right now while some other pots aren’t so glorious.
That sounds wonderful! 🌸 I'm so happy to hear about your pelargonium's lovely transformation. It's amazing what a little sun can do! Those bright almost-red, hot pink blooms must be a stunning sight. Enjoy your favorite plant and its beautiful flowers! 🌞😊
You have a beautiful garden Catherine. Elevating pots are always good and provides depth and dimensions too. I do the same in small courtyard … lots of pots in mine too. The neighbors cat is just beautiful and loves your garden too. We all have days when we look at the garden and wonder how things got in such a state but clean up is always refreshing after it’s all done. Love your hair. Have a fab week my friend. ❤❤❤
❤ Hi there, I SO enjoyed your video tonight! I love how down home you are! What I do to keep slugs away…I crush up egg shells and place them around the perimeter of the plant…they won’t crawl over the shells… And I don’t imagine you would consider having a container with lots of water and salt in it…and go hunting for slugs each evening and put them into the container… I know lots of people won’t like this idea, but when the slugs do SO much damage to everything…I do what I have to do! The slugs love the rain, moisture and dampness! I have snails to deal with too! People do eat canned slugs and of course, snails! Not me!
You could literally tidy or do something every day in your garden, I sweep daily as the birdies root thru the bark chipping and scatter it everywhere, hope mum is doing ok and you too ❤
That’s life, things get out of hand and then I have to break the jobs down into small projects. Like you I’m behind with the pots and housework, house decorating jobs. Once each small job gets done it’s surprising how it all comes together.❤
I just love watching your videos. Listening to you talk and clean and plant, is just so soothing. You always bring a smile to my face. Hugs to you and the fur babies!!🐈⬛🐱
For pots put a sponge at the bottom to retain water. I got cheap ones from home bargains car sponge section. Nothing like looking at a beautiful section of the garden. Love your neighbours cat visiting you xxx
Containers are my joy! I love potting in them and even more diy'ing or finding lovely pots! Because of animals who ate so much of my edible garden last year I've potted everything in elevated containers in an area enclosed in tulle. It's working! I left the tulle off long enough for the pollinator bees to do their job. I even have watermelons growing on a pair of arches in slings made from tulle. Their amazing to watch grow. My friend who loves to garden but recently moved into a flat came to visit for 2 weeks and we gardened until we dropped. Everything got potted and most of the existing garden cleaned up. Since then I've been much to lazy and not finished the projects I had left to do. It just isn't a high energy year! It's been horribly hot here - to hot to be outside - which sucks. The mid summer heat started in spring. Thanks to auto watering everything is looking healthy but oh gosh, the heat.
I spent the last 2 days creating a new border.. Digging is so hard at the moment. I keep wishing for rain!😂.. I went to the garden centre on Saturday & brought plants in the sale.. I got some good bargains🎉🎉😊😊❤
Same as yourself, weather was shite in spring, so am late to the party, waiting for things to bloom lack of sun being the problem, but I keep going hoping for better weather 😊😊
I have had my worst year gardening so far. Not that it's extensive. I put it down to the wet, cold, winds of NW England . Although some of my 3 rd season plants have made up for it a little and for mother's day I treated myself to a David Austen Rose and it's my pride and joy. I've pressed the pause button on the veg because I'd say 80 % didn't take. Then I got sick and I just said to myself to sit and think or rethink. Now I have a list of moving everything in the Autumn and looking at spring bulbs. 😂a garden is never done my dear NEVER but it's so good for the soul. ❤
Love your lots and you seem to pick the same plants that we have in our garden, backups is a must in summer planting. Recent years I have bought cosmos, lovely bushy plants that need no special attention. The variety this year is a guess as the label not in the box when got home, but they are a very beautiful deep crimson and lilac pink. I also found fragrant petunias ,deep purple and white. We planted them in the border near to our back door ,only because weather changed and they needed to be planted, but so glad we did. First thing we see every morning and nice to sit and enjoy with morning coffee. Love to see what you do with the areas you want to tackle, like the front I am sure it will b e very welcoming ! Can't wait for next instalment ,hope to see you in thursday. My weekly treat. Love to you your mum and family xxx
I think the weather determines your drive to a certain extent. Here in eastern Canada, we had a mild winter, an early, dry spring, and early, sunny summer. The gardens have been crazy good here this year as a result!
Everything is looking beautiful Catherine. You have a lot going on so it’s good you could appreciate what you have done instead of what you haven’t. I always love seeing the kitties and it makes me smile how all your neighbors cats are drawn to you.❤️ PS. I am Obsessed with your rain coat! Is it new? I would love to but one for myself.
We have been getting a lot of rain and the weather has been all over the place. I haven’t weeded or deadheaded as much as I would like to but then I’ve also added so many more gardening spaces and nooks! You are so right about doing small sections of it which is what I have been trying to do as well and not overwhelm myself. Without my intervention too, things are blooming and looking great in one part or the other. The pots look amazing!! ❤
Looking at the progress and changes your garden has made is beautiful. I think we were so ready to start the garden season, but there was so much rain and cold that it literally put a damper on gardening. It didn't stop me from buying and starting more plants, lol, because a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.. So yes, I have plants waiting to go out too. : )
Those sneakers won’t stay white much longer! I only have a balcony, so pots are my thing. I love the display under the window. Say hello to the lovely neighbor’s cat. Thank you!❤
I love your Kitty Kids! I live alone also & wish I could have a cat, but a very strict rule "No Animals". Your babies are so fun to watch, even the neighbors cat!!! 😺
I don’t know Catherine about being late to the party, I don’t think I was invited! 😅 I don’t think you are alone in being behind , it’s been so wet there has not been any opportunity or desire to work in the garden, I have done some tidying where I can but there has only been random spells of dry weather. Love the staging of your pots, when they get settled in it will be a beautiful display. I do feed my pots but with feed pellets when I plant that dissolve over time so no need to keep feeding, one less job to do! Thinking of you and your loved one, Suze 🤗🐈🐈⬛🌺
It was nice to see Toffee in your garden. As I was watching I had two thoughts pop up. One being that it might be time to replace the tire planter with a nice big terra cota or a glazed white planter or one of the whiskey barrel planters. Another idea was to add a gate seperating your front door area from the ally leading to the back garden. Possibly giving a Secret Garden sorta vibe to the back yard. I loved your pot display and arrangement. 😍 The color choices are lovely.
Yes to the gate at the front, I was actually thinking of that as I want to store my bins in the laneway and remove them from the back, so it gives me an area to hide them from view but still easily accessed.
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment! 😊 I'm excited too to see everything in full bloom-it's such a rewarding sight in the garden! Stay tuned for more updates.
Love what You did with the pots Catherine , so pretty, had a thought in my head how it would be cool to use those white pots IN Your shady garden at the back to add height and bright would look very pretty and also clear the walkway a bit , anyway thought I would share what popped in my head . Would be a quick fix. Don' beat Yourself up for being behind, You actually have done so much in Your Sweet Garden , also got the Kitties which are a gorgeous handful in themselves (snuggles to both) and going through Family health issues , which is a Highly stressful situation in itself . Sending love to You and Your Family xx from New Zealand
It's almost 100 F here in Florida. Hardy herbs, sunflowers, zinnias and cosmos are the only thing that seems to thrive in this sauna. Your home and garden are lovely. I sure do dream of living in a beautiful place like Ireland. 🌻
Your garden looks amazing. My winter garden is looking pretty good. I also feed wild birds, guinea fowls etc, the baby guinea fowl actually come right up to my front door looking for food. Have been putting fruit out for the fruit eating birds only to find that the bees are now enjoying the oranges as well. 😊
It’s taken me all of June to catch up on everything I neglected in May, plus we had here just north of New York City one horrible stretch of very hot weather 2 weeks ago when I just couldn’t be outside. Somehow, though, my perennials have been doing better this year than ever before in spite of my neglect, so there’s been lots to enjoy and distract me from the messy areas. Time now to relax a bit and wait for the tomatoes!
Amazing video Catherine,I am in the same position with pots,so thankyou for the advice..I've got pots that I haven't touched for 4 years 🤣 that have still been flowering but the soil is awfull😢. My most successful flowers are the wild flowers,I threw two boxes of seed on my raised bed they have gone mental 🤣🤣 . Why is it when I pay no attention to them ie neglect 🤣🤣 they grow beautiful. I finally have dahlias growing,I'm so excited. I did do two flower baskets so my mom is happy. My neighbour pulled down half of my fence because of ivy was pushing through the panels,I threw a tablecloth over it because it looked so ugly and I can't sort it out at the moment so I've left it,it will get done when it gets done 🤣🤣🤣 I'm too busy growing flowers. Your huge purple flowers look amazing, the front garden looks beautiful too,I have too watch this again cos I kept getting distracted by the beautiful flowers 🥰🥰🥰🤣🤣🤣. I hope you get some sunshine soon sending lots of love and gratitude for the advice...😘
weeds are waiting for me to pull them, I didn't add new flowers to the front garden this year, wow it was first time I didn't. I love your pot collection simply beautiful. My daughter had pots gathered at the end of her garage and it was so beautiful. I need to remember to do that next spring. Lovely day to you!
Thank you for your lovely comment! 🌸 It sounds like you have a busy gardening day ahead. I’m glad you enjoyed my pot collection and found some inspiration in your daughter's setup. Next spring will be the perfect time to add those beautiful touches to your garden! Wishing you a lovely day as well! 😊🌼🌿
After last week of me saying my garden was dire ,the little hot spot as done my garden the world of good a bit of tomato feed and sun and its now stunning 😅❤
It has just been so bloody hot here in St. Louis, Missouri. Upper 90's to 100 and the mosquitos have been horrendous. I think they have gotten about half a pint of blood from me so far. I still need to tackle all the weeds in the back, it is never ending.
Hello from Portland Oregon, USA. I finally finished the front garden bed (weeding). We spread weed repellant and then spread garden mulch. A dozen new perennials now planted. Carnations, Speedwell, Blackeyed Susan, Phlox. You are true inspiration Catherine, one step at a time. Making the most of the moments to get fresh air and taking care of yourself helps in so many ways.
I LOVE your container display in your entrance! Every year is different for me...this year I am killing it in one section of my garden...I've been dead heading, chelsea chopping etc....but you should see the state of the side yard ...a hot mess of weeds and dead foliage...and I'm leaving it...for the pollinators, right?!! hahaha
Thank you so much! It sounds like you have quite the garden adventure going on this year! Deadheading and Chelsea chopping can really make a section thrive, can't they? And leaving a wild side yard for the pollinators is a great idea-nature appreciates it! Enjoy the beautiful chaos of your garden! Best regards, Catherine
All your pots are pretty now. Nice display. Our big bag of dirt was no good also. Had to purchase compost and manure to add life to the mix. Enjoy your day. Send Texas some rain. 96F here 35C to you. It is so hot here. My garden has loads of tomatoes and that is it. Only one hanging basket I must water twice a day. So much for the shower curtain on the guest bed. Your cats are taking back the room. ha ha Thanks for the video. Have a great week.
@donnamullins2089 Thanks for the kind words! Sorry to hear about the dirt woes-sounds like your tomatoes are troopers though! I'll do my best to send some rain your way. 😅 And yes, the cats have claimed the guest bed as their kingdom. They definitely run the show around here! Have a fantastic week!
I feel like this year I haven't had much time available. The weather in Scotland has been so wet, I found myself weeding in the bog for the first few months. Then it came the midge, and now its raining again. I have put so much effort and time into doing some plants from seeds but lost to snails and slugs. There is so many corners that I don't want to even look at. Next week looks really wet so I will be probably doing half an hour of weeding and planting in between the rain. You have done a beautiful job at the front, hopefully this will motivate me to do my front as well.🥀🌻🏡
@kabr4616, I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with the weather and pests in Scotland. It sounds like you've been putting in a lot of effort despite the obstacles! Gardening can indeed be a test of patience and resilience. I'm glad to hear that my front garden has inspired you-it's always rewarding to see our efforts pay off. Wishing you better weather ahead and successful gardening sessions in between the rain showers! 🌧️🌱🌼
The bistro chairs are so cute. Love the colour of the pinky-peach one. Maybe the other one can be a sage-green !? Love how you don't give up on some plants and you try to grow them in better spots :) Hope you are having a great day!
Hey Catherine, thank you for the video. You are very artistic, I never think my pots look as pretty as other people’s☺️. Yours were all beautiful. Lots of love to you and your wee mam. ❤
Our garden is in full bloom now. They are all plants from last year or older. Almost all the new plants and small seedlings have been eaten by snails. I keep adding more, and go hunting for snails almost every evening. I wanted to turn a patch of grass into a flowerbed, but it's still a bit bare. Now I want to go to the garden centre like you 🌺🌻🌼🌱 What I love this year is that there are many small birds visiting are garden. I am always delighted to see theme having a bath🐦💦
Just the same here. I have been not just rained off but deluged this year. It feels like it has only just stopped and everything has been just so wet and claggy. Just shoved some pretty pots at the front of the patio and now seeing masses of cleavers and six foot nettles at the back.
The potted plants look so lovely!
Your pot collection is a lovely sight to behold! So pretty!
What a beautiful garden. Very cute raincoat! ❤❤❤

There’s always something to be done that’s for sure ❤️ thanks for stopping by Kandy xx
When you drive in, you have a beautiful ‘welcome home’ at the front of your house. The front is as important as the back yard. 🏡❤
So true, it really is that welcome home feeling x
Looks great 😍 I love the glazed ‘heritage’ pots. Be kind to yourself, you have a lot going on with your mum 🤗
Thank you, yes I got those pots during the pandemic, there quite popular in the garden centres here x
I always love visiting with you. Catherine, you are an inspiration to all you know. Enjoy working in your garden. Try not to think of it as work, but that it gives you pleasure. From Florida, USA 🦩

Yea Toffee loves a belly rub, but he draws the line at letting me pick him up and cuddle him x
Every place looks great. Your Mam must be a hella great lady to produce a wonderful daughter like you !
Wow, thanks for the kindness x
I have loads of pots on my own. So I know how much work it is, I really do. However, it is worth it, as we can see now. Well done, dear Catherine.
You are such an inspiration ❤! Thank you for sharing! I know you work hard in your garden, home and for your channel. Blessings to you

You always
bring a smile to my face. Hugs to you and the fur babies!!🐈⬛🐱
The front looks so lovely. We're the same in South wales rain rain and more rain. Your hair is beautiful so pretty. 🏴
Hopefully some sunshine time for you too now 😍☀️ thanks for stopping by xx
The grouping in the front looks great. What a nice thing to see when you look out your windows.
Thank you, Im excited to see the roses grow in front of the window x
For pots put a sponge at the bottom to retain water. I got cheap ones from home bargains car sponge section. Nothing like looking at a beautiful section of the garden. Love your neighbours cat visiting you xxx
I'm smiling into myselfe, I do have the same rule about buying plants, but I'm ceating over and over again 😅
It’s too tempting 😍😍
You have a way with grouping your pots and the plants you choose. I realize now I need more height in my planters. They are lovely Catherine.
My oh my!!! I don’t know what’s prettier…your flowers or your eyes ❤
Thank you so much for the sweet compliment! 🌸💕 Your kind words made me smile. I'm glad you enjoy both x
I am
Obsessed with your rain coat! Is it new? I would love to but one for myself.
Your garden is lovely. The pots that say Vintage Garden Pottery are fantastic. I got a late start too. ❤
I’ve been away for two days and the garden grew exponentially. I watered today but I can see it all needs a good trim. Your display looks lovely. ❤
Glad you got some sun! We finally got a bit of rain in southeast Pennsylvania US.
I’m glad you finally got some rain! Nothing worse than a long dry spell!
Thank you for inspiring me!!
Your cats are sooo cute !!!
Catherine, your hair looks fabulous and your pots are looking good too. Can't wait to see them with everything in full bloom!!
I am actually starting my garden this year after moving in a year ago. So much fun. You are an inspiration to me 🙂
Best of luck on your new garden journey x
Great job with the pots👌👌👌the 🐱🐱are to cute❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
After last week of me saying my garden was dire ,the little hot spot as done my garden the world of good a bit of tomato feed and sun and its now stunning 😅❤
I'm so glad to hear the little hot spot worked wonders for your garden! Amazing what a bit of tomato feed and sunshine can do. Now it’s stunning! 😅❤
Lovely
Sew some night scented stock, where you have evening sun, it's smells amazing and it's quick to grow, as for my garden 😂, weeds are taller than me.❤
Pots look great
I love your gardens!! And I too am so far behind!!
Best regards,
Catherine
All your pots are pretty now. Nice display. Our big bag of dirt was no good also. Had to purchase compost and manure to add life to the mix. Enjoy your day. Send Texas some rain. 96F here 35C to you. It is so hot here. My garden has loads of tomatoes and that is it. Only one hanging basket I must water twice a day.
So much for the shower curtain on the guest bed. Your cats are taking back the room. ha ha
Thanks for the video.
Ok, I'm insoired💕💕💕
The bistro chairs are so cute. Love the colour of the pinky-peach one. Maybe the other one can be a sage-green !? Love how you don't give up on some plants and you try to grow them in better spots :) Hope you are having a great day!
Catherine The front garden looks nice so far what you have done.👍👍❤❤
Thank you kindly x
Hey Catherine, thank you for the video.
You are very artistic, I never think my pots look as pretty as other people’s☺️. Yours were all beautiful.
Lots of love to you and your wee mam. ❤
I’m living in the Phoenix Arizona area and I’m really envying your beautiful garden. You do an amazing job. I have 3 very sad pots☹️. Maybe next year.
Your gardens are so quaint💐❣️
Thank you so much! I'm delighted to hear you find my gardens quaint. 💐❣ Your kind words mean a lot to me!
Great clean up. Thanks for sharing this with us.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Just the same here. I have been not just rained off but deluged this year. It feels like it has only just stopped and everything has been just so wet and claggy. Just shoved some pretty pots at the front of the patio and now seeing masses of cleavers and six foot nettles at the back.
19:01 lol naughty kitty
I have a very shady area , I look forward to see how you tackle yours and pinch your ideas 😂 xx
