sleepyheathen - I am just going through all Jessica's videos and I came across your comment. What you did/doing sending cards the older Lesbians is an awesome thing to do. Older lesbians tend to become isolated, lesbians in my age group do. I came out 50 years ago when I was 19 but it was all very underground then. So our age group find themselves lonely now. Also at our age health issues become a big problem. I have been disabled since I was 37 but my partner and I have been together for over 33 years. However she is battling secondary breast cancer that came back in her spine after 11 years. I am devastated but I can't let her see. It's awful. I hope you have carried on your cards. I'd like to think so. Enjoy your life and do things you want to do now, don't put it off. Live now. Hugs xxx

I have fibromyalgia. I'm only 17 and I've pretty much spent the last two years in bed. Last few months I've been in a consistently good mood, despite the fact things still aren't great.
You two are adorable. I do believe that I have found the love of my life only a few months ago, everyone says we're unbearably cute. Apparently we give them diabetes... 😂

i'm also 17 with fibro and i love my gf, i'm happy for you! but pls keep in mind that i (and loads of others) come to jessicas channel to escape from ppl judging our disabilities/illnesses so it's pretty disheartening to see people making diabetes into a joke, even here. you mean type 2 diabetes, that is caused by diet or lifestyle factors. type one is where u have a dead organ floating around inside you and have to inject urself so u dont die, not exactly funny or cute! not angry, just pls think before you say things like that

I just discovered your channel last week and I absolutely love it! You and Claudia are so lovely. I even finally decided to learn ASL after watching your videos. I would learn BSL or SSE but I live in Canada and apparently our common sign language is ASL. Which I'm quite disappointed about actually, since we are a Commonwealth country, but what can you do?
Me too! I have pulled some of my siblings into it, so they're useful if I have a cold and can't hear (my hearing gets worse when I get sick.)

I just recently found your channel when looking for sign language tutorials because I will be taking American Sign Language classes soon. Even though you sign with British sign language I couldn’t help but watch your videos. You’re so incredibly up beat and full of life even with all of your health issues you suffer with. It’s so inspiring.

Sorry that you are still feeling bad, I hope that things pick up soon and that you don't force yourself to do too much for vlogmas. As much as I really enjoy and look forward to your videos health is always number 1. I used to have really bad emetophobic so I greatly appreciate the vomit warnings, but also listening to you talk so matter of fact about it is actually really helping it to be not so scary and is helping me to cope with the nausea that I've recently been struggling with.

Hi Jessica! What dim sum could you eat seeing as you're avoiding onion and garlic? I was diagnosed with IBS and can't eat onion and garlic as they make me very ill so I've been avoiding dim sum but would love to be able to eat it again! I contacted Ping Pong a while ago and they wrote back saying I couldn't eat anything except the pudding which was so disappointing! Please let me know if you can :)

I agree, dim sum is the best thing ever. HOWEVER, considering the giant city in which l live (Chicago), finding a truly great dim sum place is surprisingly difficult.

I'm glad you were able to take a sick day and have a lie down! I know how unproductive and frustrating it can feel, I'm glad you had footage to put up and didn't have to stress!
Can anyone give me some advice? I've just been to the doctors today to talk about CFS, which I have almost been diagnosed with. I saw a different doctor this time and he treated me so badly, it seemed pretty obvious he doesn't think CFS exists. He was saying 'it doesn't matter if we give you that label, we can't give you a magic pill anyway'. I told him that I already knew there was no cure I would just like to know if I have it. I am already pretty sure I do. It's been 4 years now and it's only been within the last 6 months or so I've started to feel ok about being diagnosed with CFS. Before that, I didn't want the diagnosis because it scared me. I also asked him, and I said I think it's often related (which it is), if I could have it confirmed if I have POTS. I told him I already have it on record from a few years ago about my heart rate but I just left it and didn't push to find out if it's because I have POTS. He said he didn't know what POTS was, so I told him postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. He said well I don't know anything about that so I can't help you there. It was such a difficult appointment and I asked him if I could be referred to a specialist to find out if I do have CFS. He reluctantly said 'ok, I'll drop a note to rheumatology'. I asked why rheumatology, he said they deal with joint issues but also CFS. Is this the correct hospital department to be referred to? Should I go back, see a different GP and ask for a different referral? Can anyone who has already been through all of this give me any advice to help me get a diagnosis? Thank you for any comments. Jessica, if you read this, I would love your advice but I know you are not well and quite busy so you might not be able to. Best wishes to you if you read this! Amy

I do not think you could vegan really. the low fodmap diet is already restrictive enough taking out even just meat means you're left with mostly just salads. also lot of vegan/vegetarian relies on lentils which you can't have. I'm vegetarian and I live at home with my mum who has ibs. I almost never have the same meal as them and If i do its either a roast or I or my mum have an altered version.

I tried to go vegan, but it's very difficult and restrictive for going out to eat or going to someone's house (unless you live in LA), so now I am a plant-based pescatarian. I'm sure it would be even harder for Jessica to go vegan when she already has a restrictive diet.
