    I'm pregnant and been doing OMAD since the end of my 1st trimester, now I'm at the end of my pregnancy ( only 3 more weeks to go) and I had my gyn ppt yesterday, what can I say, everything with my baby and me is perfect and this last pregnancy was the easiest, healthiest and most enjoyable pregnancy that I have ever experienced. So I'm telling you guys : OMAD works even for pregnant women

      Manal Elmagrahi Interesting. I wouldn’t advise OMAD for pregnancy and breast feeding, but glad to hear it’s working well for you.

    Yes! I am a gigantic carb/sugarholic. Alcohol for me is also a sugar option, as when I drink, all I taste is the sugar. So, I started intermittent fasting about eighteen months ago and have recently started OMAD. It took a couple of months to adapt to it fully, but I'm comfortable with it now. Huge positive benefits! My blood pressure is lower, my joint pain is improving. Bottom line - be patient, your body doesn't turn on a dime. You will spend the first several weeks living for your daily meal. I have been eating at roughly 4-5:00pm, and for those first six weeks, the period between noon and feeding time was spent anticipating my daily meal. Now, it's not on my mind, as my body is comfortable and my mind free to focus on other things. Good stuff!

    Deanna, most importantly, I hope your Mom will be fine, I'll say a prayer for her. I believe that anyone can get cancer, some having a greater chance than others. Even Jordan Rubin had cancer a few years ago. He said "here I've been telling everyone else what to do to stay well,and then I get cancer." He prayed and prayed and did heal completely with natural health, to the chagrin and anger of his oncologist. Dr. Mark Hyman dealt with Lyme's disease recently for 5 months. We just never know. At this moment my husband is seeing a dermatologist for possible Lyme's disease (I hope not), or maybe skin cancer. I insisted he get seen stat since I know Lyme's, if diagnosed after two weeks, can be difficult to treat and with side effects. Anyway, Deanna, you'll have a big silver lining in all of this - God bless you all!

    I just recently switched to OMAD from 18/6. I am hoping to increase my health and longevity as well as lose some body fat.
    As another busy working mom, I can agree that OMAD is a real timesaver! I sure don't miss all the cooking and dish washing from the extra meals I was eating.

    Today is my O.M.A.D. day #405! I eat all of my calories within a 2 hour window. I have not cheat a single day. Not even a carrot stick! I've lost 56 pounds. I'm almost 71 years old. Male. I started at 216 pounds on March 24, 2021. I still eat.... potatoes, fruit, beef, dairy, poultry -- even cauliflower pizza! But everything in moderate portions and I rarely eat more than 1500 calories per O.M.A.D. -- I just finished it and my calories today are 1,395. I weigh my portions. I even count my olives! Let me tell you... this is the EASIEST "diet" (lifestyle change!) to do and I've been on several diets before. I still have 30 pounds to lose... one O.M.A.D. at a time.

  • @alphacause
    @alphacause 5 ปีที่แล้ว +44

    I lost 65 lbs (going from 230 lbs to 165 lbs) doing low carb, while eating the same number of meals as your typical American (3 meals accompanied by one or two snacks). After that my weight loss plateaued for nearly 8 months. It was only OMAD that allowed me to break that plateau, which resulted in me losing an additional 40 lbs ( going from 165 lbs to 125 lbs). I can't sing the praises of OMAD enough. While it is tough at first, it gets easier with time. Within a matter of a few weeks of practicing OMAD, you really lose the desire to even eat frequently. My recommendation, for those who want to do OMAD, is to make sure that you do a low carb diet first, for a several months, so as to get your body fat adapted. That makes the transition to OMAD much easier, because you mitigate or eliminate the blood glucose fluctuations that can make fasting hard for a high carb dieter.

You said you may even gain some weight back because you feel like you don't have enough "curves" where ppl think you should. Don't listen to the haters! I've been doing omad for 2-3 years now with a 2-3hr eating window. I have experienced similar results as to what you have said had happened in your body/brain. I'm 51 years old, ripped physique, and I feel better than I did in my 30's and 40's. Keep doing what makes you happy and feel good...! It's your God given right to do what's best for your body!

    Have been keto for about a year- naturally fell into a 4-6hr IF window and was fine there.
    Initially OMAD was a turn off- the idea of "one meal" implied one sitting.
    Then I heard Deanna mention her protocol of a 2 hour window (which can change/adapt, wasn't rigid) and decided to give it a go.
    About a week in and am loving it. 22hr fast 2 hr feed [ish]
    It was a natural adjustment, coming from fat adapted keto/IF- and the results have been great so far.
    Thank you guys. The power of an idea to create change. Keep it up.

    OMAD helped to improve my relationship with food, I used to wake up have breakfast, then 4 hours later have lunch and then 5 -6 hours later have dinner not to mention the snacks in between. Since going to OMAD I realised that I was just eating as part of the society norm and was never eating because of hunger. I am never hungry during my 22-23hrs of not eating. I make my kids their breakfast and lunch and never feel the need to eat what they leave (which was never the case). Sometimes I have so much energy that I easily go 24-36 hrs without eating. Deanna is lean and healthy as she knows that bodyfat holds more toxins in the body and I can totally understand her logic especially with cancer history in her family. Yes, I make sure to get 10k steps in fasted every day (use lunch hour to walk around, clear my head) and weight lift every other day typically after my meal (mixing in some HIIT). Working on packing on some muscle and change my body composition while also giving my body time to adjust to this new normal. Nothing too intense yet, but getting in position so I can make a push to 15% body fat later this year.

    I adopted OMAD a year and half ago! Best shape in my life at 55, I workout after a 20 hours fast and then eat a plate full of vegetables and a pound of grilled turkey or fish, or ground grass fed beef and I am all set for next day! I do not prepare meals, I prefer to cook fresh, it only takes 20/25 minutes to grill the veggies and the meat!!

      @@lisad82 You have to get yourself adapted to it over time. If you just go and workout in a fasted state for first time you will feel dizzy and low energy. but, start slow, do short fasts, and go do short none intense workouts, have ready a sugary protein drink with you like AFTERSHOCK, and if you feel dizzy have a sip to get rid of the dizziness, as you feel you are adapting, and not feeling dizzy, progressively increase the length of your fast, and slightly the length and intensity of your workouts. It will take two to three months to fully adapt to a routine where you can fast for 24 hours, hit the gym, workout ofr an hour and a half, do a super intense workout and have no dip in energy whatsoever all the way to your last exercise. and your last rep! I have been doing this for over a year and a half now, I am 55 and going super strong! I will soon be publishing videos about that on my channel. I hope this helps. Let me know if it has worked for you when you try it! Peace!

      Do you OMAD every single day or 1 day a week do 16/8?
      How many coffees will you have throughout the day?
      What training do you do? I HIIT 30 minutes. How long after will you eat?
      How many calories roughly do you consume in that meal over 30 minutes?

    I started the Keto diet May 2018 because of Epilepsy. I saw Keto was used in 1920’s to try to help people with seizures. So having had brain surgery in 1990 I thought I would give it a go. I’m 62, also Coeliac, Insulin Resistant and the GF food was killing me as it is pure Carbohydrates, needless to say I put on a tonne of weight. So far I have lost at least 150lbs and feel fantastic, the clarity of mind is awesome. I used to be outa my tree because of medication, Lithium, Valium and anti-convulsants etc. This I believe is my next step, have been alternating between the two regimes Keto/ Carnivore for a while. For a few weeks now I have been doing Carnivore OMAD and feel amazing, I hope I can get half as good as your wife looks (have a 15 year old trapped inside). Hope I haven’t left it too late. Thanks for the video. I am few years older than Deana, moderately physically active and .. with a very good physique I must admit.. I have been experimenting with omad for around 6 years. Lately I do it 6 days a week, 2 meals usually only on Sunday when I go for a mountain hike. I find it completely sustainable as a lifetime eating plan although for me eating a huge amount of fats every day (probably 250-300g) is a key factor to feel good and satiated, not a lot of protein. I find the most ideal fats for me are lard, coconut oil and olive oil and they are easy available and of a good quality in a country where I live. Deanna, you are so inspiring! (Mike, you, too!) I've achieved a lot by going LCHF for a year and now thanks to you, I feel like I have MANY more tools available to try to improve my body composition and take things to the next level. I discovered you two recently on TH-cam and I'm taking your Flexible OMAD course. I only had a few pounds to lose (now 100 lbs. at 5'3") but would like to build muscle and lose a little more skin. Blood pressure is down dramatically and my husband and I are both hoping to get off the meds completely. I love your constant reminders NOT to copy you folks exactly, but rather to find what works for each of us individually. I'm constantly sharing info with friends who ask "What are you and your husband doing?!?!" My husband gets to be lazy and say "I just eat what Barb cooks", but I'm the nerd who gives out tips and links to all the neighbors now. There's no avoiding it--the results speak for themselves. We have both maintained our weight loss and reduced blood pressure, and feel great. The smaller incremental changes really work and make things sustainable. Nothing in the closet fits us, and now we have the confidence to buy a whole new wardrobe and know it will be our long-term size.
    Thanks for sharing that whole-body MRI. We plan to get to Vancouver to do this.

      Mary Perry such a great question Mary. I build my meals around protein (which I weigh on a kitchen scale). I begin my meal with protein and fat addition. I eat slowly and mindfully - to analyze my hunger and intuitively know when ive reaches 85% satiety. Often I’ll have a plate, wait 20 minutes, then eat again (usually a nutrient dense, low glycemic dessert with whey protein, activated nuts, raw cacao ect-) I’m definitely not eating ice berg lettuce . Everything is carefully planned, nutrient dense and the beauty of it all... is there is no room for processed foods (but I’ll have in moderation just because I’m human ☺️).

    You (wife) looks fantastic. But why does your face look soooooooo tight. Hopefully this is natural from all your hard work. Please don’t let it be Botox. I’ll never understand why woman use Botox they look so false. Loved the WHAT KETO, CARNIVORE & OMAD DID TO OUR ORGANS.

    Blessings to you Deanna, and I hope that you have many many good years with your family. It looks like you're doing pretty good on the body building end of things to me!👏😄 I lost my mom, dad, and older brother to cancer it's tough for sure. I do ADF and OMAD in hopes of not getting full blown cancer. I already have cancer cells in my blood that are being monitored, but currently, I'm good. :)

    Eating several small healthy nutritious meals throughout the day is also a very popular diet regimen.. What is interesting is 1000's of people swear losing weight and being healthy on it...just as OMAD people swear by their regimen.. bottom line we have no clue whatsoever about our bodies and metabolism and genetic effects.. OMAD seems depriving oneself of life's joys and pleasures..

    Question, how many calories would you eat on OMAD while on a weightloss journey. I IF with two meals and some days feel that one meal would be sufficient, but I never count calories. Should I just count my typical two meal calories and incorporate that for OMAD? Thank you in advance, you both are a wealth of knowledge!

    I’m confused if one meal a day isn’t for bodybuilding how did you develop your muscle Deann? I can definitely tell a difference in your body yes you are a lot more Lean than a few months ago but you are definitely ripped I know less body fat equals your muscles being more pronounce but you look like you have put on more muscle. Also if you feel better working out fasted after working out do you go home and have a meal or when would be your next meal after working out?

    Looking forward to buying Deanna's book when it comes out. I have done OMAD but went back to having 2 meals a day as I felt I wasn't as energetic as I should have been so my thinking was, I am lacking Nutrients. I have never counted macros and just went with what I thought was right for me. I have never checked to see if I had gotten into Ketosis by testing. Hoping the book is structured easily so I can just follow it. I also have kidney issues so I have to modify the Keto way of eating anyway so I don't have too much protein, too much potassium, too much Salt and too much phosphorus. It's a real balancing act, let me tell you. hahaha

      Dedrie O'Brien thanks for Sharing Dedrie! I didn’t use to count macros- but I’m starting to just until I can truly eyeball portions . However, eating intuitively is key eventually. No matter what the macros say, it needs to feel good and satiety is key- without over- eating (which is tough to know for all of us!)

    • @CreativeDee
      @CreativeDee 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deannamutzeldc6314 , Thank you Deanna for sharing that with me. It's nice to know I am not the only one working with Keto intuitively. It definitely depends on the exercise you do as to how much of what macros to consume along with height too. I watched a video where the woman says that to gauge what your plate should look like is 2 cups of vegetables, meat is to be the size & thickness of praying hands gauging from the knuckles to the tips of your fingers with 2 tablespoons of fat with each meal. I have basically been using that method but at times would have more vegetables. Keep us up to date as to when your book can be bought. I too, so want more clarity of mind. xx
