Hello Dr. Ekberg. I consider you a life saver. I was diagnosed with T2D on January 23rd 2022. I had an A1c of 11.7 . I immediately began searching g for answers and found your channel. I had already been doing HIIT training, but i added your nutrition idea’s and Intermittent Fasting to my routine. I was able to get off taking insulin after 2 weeks and stopped metformin after 1 month.
I just got my new A1C results on April 22nd and I now have an A1C of 5.1
Thank you again for all your work!

The thing I love most about OMAD is that it has opened my eyes to what an amazing piece of machinery that the human body is. My 🧠 and my body are finally communicating in ways that I didn't even know was possible. I almost never get "hungry" and if I do it's so mild that sometimes I almost miss it. I don't even consider it hunger it's more like, "oh my body getting ready to start cannibalizing, cool", and I just keep going about my day. I don't really consider it hunger anymore, it doesn't bother me, it doesn't make me panicked and run for a protein shake like it used to, it's just another signal that my body is sending me that my brain is now able to correctly processes now that I've cut out the drugs(processed food) and sugar. The way it feels different when you're running on fat vs sugar. The calmness that comes from it, that feeling like you never want to eat again because you feel so good 😊. 0-24 hours I feel fine but there's something about that 36-40 mark where I go from feeling "fine" to feeling REALLY GOOD. I think it's because I don't do keto so I switch between fat and sugar a lot. Sorry for rambling but I don't have anyone to talk to about this because they all think I'm crazy, or exaggerating how it feels, the control, the closeness to the natural state, the way it was supposed to be, the idea that food is simply the way we get energy into our bodies. They all just nod their heads and humor me but nobody really cares 😂. I tell em it'll be life altering but they don't believe me. I tell em it's not about will power, they definitely don't believe me 😂.
THANK YOU DR. EKBERG AND ALL OF YOU OUT THERE WHO TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE THESE VIDEOS. YOU ARE CHANGING LIVES.

I agree Calvin, it is hard to share this knowledge with people who are still addicted to gluten, sugar, etc. I was one of those addicts (and like everyone else didn't know it) until two years ago. Fasting is great. I feel that switching from fat to sugar burning is ok...and some types of carbs sometimes are fine; as I think of the ancient people and how they will have had inconsistent food sources (ie fasted, sometimes for long periods) and then feasted sometimes on lots of carbs, such as fruits, to put on some timber (fat) for the coming winter! I understand where you are coming from and suspect there are absolutely loads of us out there now...but it is hard when your family and friends are not amongst them! Sigh. Maybe one day!

People won’t change until they suffer. Let them suffer with chronic diseases in the first place. Worse, even after they got the disease they still do not want to change. They are pleasure addicts. They need the “feel good” drug every minute through consumption of refined carbs. You can’t help them.

I have listened to Dr. Ekburg for the past four months and I can’t say anything but thank you. I have completely emptied my refrigerator and all of my cabinets of all the foods that are proven to be dangerous that even our government will not tell you that they are. I started slowly with intermittent fasting and now I am finishing my first seven-day fast. I have gained back the discipline that I used to have years ago when I was in the Marine Corps. And in four months time I have lost 45 pounds and have not felt this good in years. The simple knowledge of how Food Works has done miracles for my health.

Fun tip for your suggestion at 6:16- take 2-3 whole eggs, and your favourite leafy green. Pinch of salt and pepper, blend it all together. You can tweak this recipe but basically use a bit of oil and pan fry a thin layer. Flip and brown on the other side. Take off the pan and you’ve got keto tortilla wraps

I just tried your fun tip and it was great! I used 2 eggs with a handful of chard leaves blended with an immersion blender. It made a large "tortilla" that I let cool first before filling and wrapping (pastrami, cheese and lettuce). It was pliable, easy to roll and it was delicious. It stuck to the pan a little, but I was very careful to loosen the entire bottom with a long spatula before trying to flip it. I think I'm going to buy a new nonstick skillet and dedicate it to wrap-making so that no one messes up the nonstick surface. Thanks for the tip!

The reason for this decision was to stop sugar addiction, inflammation, memory issues as well as bone degeneration. I have not taken any pharmaceuticals for several years not and do what I can to educate myself about my bodily functions. Your videos were by far the best and most precise information I came across. I found that I have to add pecans, kimchi and other healthy carbs in order not to lose any more weight. I swim and run every day. Dr. Ekberg, your meals look delicious, but I was surprised how little calories you consume. Do you work out? If so, what is your workout? I have a big swim event in June (4.4 open water swim) and I was wondering if you can do a video on how to eat for a long distance event on keto and OMAD. My plan is to break my OMAD on the day of the race and eat a big breakfast. I did that once before and it worked out great (no cramping which is my problem).

A variation on fajitas- I made a breakfast fajita bowl recently. Chopped some bacon and fried it up. Without draining the grease, I added some leftover steak, peppers (both sweet and spicy), and onions. When that was done, I removed it from the pan but left some of the bacon grease. I fried eggs to put on top of the fajita mixture. Lastly, I added avocado. Super yummy.

Aracelis Pirela, please look into this tea for reducing any risk of recurring. Floressence Tea removes heavy metals and pesticides gently over 3 to 4 months or 4 to 6 boxes. Follow directions, but it works cold or hot. Floride in water wrecks it 40% and water in plastic wrecks it 60%. I brought glass jars to a water store until I lived with a well.
People doing 3 months yearly don't seem to have the cancer return. It has ended cancer on thousands of stage 4 people. One was my friend. Her oncologist had forbid her to use it. But she had already seen improvements in health , so used it and he was shocked when she did not die but recovered (after 4 months of use) because he swore at her about the tea she refused to tell him how she got well.
It reverses insomnia at 2 weeks on everyone, that is when they look like T-cells begin to be made correctly. Side effect: ending of anxiety and depression.
If you took a covi1.9 shot you are at risk from the king c o b r a and the c r a t e. Sn- ake ven.oms in it. Ive-rm-ect-in and others destroy it. The tea may also.

And now here you have a hamburger salad! I love it. When I first went gluten-free, I tried to substitute things for bread, and eventually I just gave up and created a whole new menu for myself. edit: after you make your hamburger, use a little water, and a tiny pinch of onion powder, to de-glaze the skillet. The fond on the skillet makes the best sauce I've ever tasted. Make your hamburger salad, and then add this sauce to everything, and you'll be in heaven.

Dr. Sten, doing OMAD (I moved gradually from 12,16,18,20 hours to a full day or two), changed my life 1000%, and it was YOUR ADVICE I followed. Now that my glucose is 80 compared to 130 a year ago. Life saver. My physical fitness had improved from FASTING alone (the first couple of months). Now I exercise a lot and thanks to OMAD (+low-carbs), let's say I feel unstoppable, I simply don't get tired no matter how hard I hit my exercise program :).
Thanks. The least I can say.

This video was very informative and helpful to me. I am 41 and I never had any health problems but in the last 3-4 years I put on 25kgs. Although my diet has been fairly healthy, I couldn't control my hunger - something I had never experienced before. My blood tests confirmed that insulin was the problem, so I stopped consuming carbs and sugar (except carbs naturally found in seafood, meat, and green vegetables), and my blood sugar stabilized within two days. That's all it took for me to start feeling GREAT - two days!
So now I only eat veggies, meat, cheese, seafood, nuts - basically all the nutritious and filling foods, and I feel great. My only problem is that I love coffee and prefer to have it with oat milk, which isn't the best low-carb option. Since I don't like soy milk, I use oat milk instead. Occasionally, for lack of a better term, I get a "craving" for some fruit, so I have strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries. However, the sugar levels spike up even after eating those, so I tend to avoid them whenever possible.
Although I don't have a medical background, I appreciate your ability to explain complicated topics in a manner that we can all understand. So THANK YOU so much for all the work that you do for this community. It is truly appreciated! 🙏🏻

Dr. Ekberg you are one of the best on YT. I share your content as often as possible. I’ve been doing OMAD consistently for about 3 months. I see very little results but I know my poor sleep habits have a lot to do with this. I’m a night nurse and I find it so difficult to sleep, once the kids are at school. I take naps for about 2 hrs at a time and then it’s back to the routine of pick up, homework, dinner and then back to work. My total sleep in a 24 hr period is about 5-6 hrs. I’m a former college athlete, so to have more than 40-50 lbs on my body is emotionally heartbreaking and physically exhausting. On my 2 days off, I try to sleep about 6 -7 hrs straight, most times I’ll get 5. Will OMAD, over time help? I now have HTN as well. No other health concerns. I absolutely love the information you provide and the clear and concise manner of your presentations. Thank you! Many blessings to you and yours.

Can you please do a video on what should be our target weight range. Doctors and dieticians seem to be trained to turn this questions back onto you and say it depends on what makes you “feel” comfortable. I am now 183 lbs, male, 58 years and 5’10” and I need to decide if 160-165 lbs is where I should stabilize my weight to for optimal health. I am 88 and I have been intermitent feeding for approximately three weeks. I eat two egs for breakfast then nothing until dinner at five pm. In this time I have lost sixteen pounds. I started because I was told I had type two diabetis. I have been watching Dr Ekberg's videos for a while which has really helped me although my old brain gets confused at times. Thank you Dr Ekberg.

Afer suffereing with hypoglycemia for years, I'm no where near ready for OMAD, however I am gradually expanding my fasting window and feeling so much better. I'm learning so much from your channel and appreciate the way you explain things.
btw - if you want to try that cauliflower pizza crust again... line a collendar with a thin towel before putting in cooked cauliflower, let cool enough to handle, then make sure you squeeze out all the water! Then proceed with adding spices, cheese, etc. before baking on parchment paper. I even flip mine over to brown both sides before topping and baking again.

I am trying hard to concentrate while my brother and Mum are busy talking about party food that I am going to avoid. I’m dysfunctional and stay away from parties because people feel offended when I don’t drink alcohol and refuse to eat typical party food 🤮

It’s odd when you think about it, how all social interactions revolve around bad food & alcohol. Makes it stressful if you want to maintain healthy habits.

Thank You pokeypickle3. It is unfortunate. If we know someone is a recovering alcoholic, we don't push alcohol on them, but if we are sugarholics who avoid junk food, everyone says - don't be so extreme, live a little, surely you can have just one.

Thank you so much Dr. Ekberg for this. I'm currently eating two meals a day spaced about 4-5 hours apart and IF for the rest of the time. But I have been giving serious consideration to switching to OMAD. This was so helpful for me to see what would be good meal ideas. I really appreciate the breakdown of fat/protein/carbs too. Could you share the brand of tortilla you use?

    • @judithowens8212
      @judithowens8212 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Did you notice in the video? No tortilla.
Just the contents, on a plate, without a tortilla. Thats the easiest.

      @judithowens8212 ปีที่แล้ว

Ah, yes, the tortilla base for the pizza.
I use a low carb wrap myself, but its an Australian made one, from Aldi, 0.5g carb per wrap, 90 cals, made from flaxseed/chia seed flour and other things. From the Low Carb Superfood Company.
I'm sure you can find something similar.... Good luck, its nice to still have pizza in your life!

i'm a 45 yo male now 8 Kg overweight and using OMAD IF low carb to reduce weight/body fat . When doing OMAD (from monday to thursday) i can't even eat 800 calories a meal. i get fish/chicken, vegetables, little bit of cheese and i'm done. the rest of the week i'm just on a keto style diet.
    my question is:
as long as my insulin stays low, am i still in trouble for listening to my hunger and undereat? i don't want to slow my metabolism, but i can't eat that much when having veggies and proteins. i'm just not hungry, even after going to the gym 🤔 as for the weight it's very slowly going down.. 😟

Protip for the fajitas or any other type of mexican food you'd want. Theres a brand called Egglife where they make tortillas out of egg whites. Keto friendly and only has 1-2 grams of carbs. The taste is very similar to an actual tortilla even if you can tell a slight difference

Funnily, for years now I just eat when I’m hungry and not otherwise. My weight never changes and I’m never left hungry usually. It often means I eat 1 meal per day, sometimes nothing for a day or two, and sometimes I indulge in lots if I’m feeling a little more hungry or greedy. Never eat breakfast as I just can’t stomach food first thing, and instead I tend to have food around 11am, often 2pm, or it may even get to dinner time around 5pm before I eat something. My mum always worries of it and says oooh you should eat 😅 but all I’m doing is listening to my body, and I feel great and healthy. It’s not psychological, it’s healthy and intuitive. Sometimes, around every full or new moon, I purposefully fast for a few days before until sunrise day after, to keep me in sync with the seasons and natural cycles. 😊

HUGE THANK YOU! for this video. I for one NEVER felt like I was doing the right combination to have the numbers work. FORGET understanding %! Which seeing this (and finally understanding) I was only doing things partial correct. The food was right, amounts were off, weight lose happened and then FRUSTRATION bc the process stalled. THIS WILL BE MY basis to get back on track again. I believe "changes" are on going bc we tend to fall into comfortable and stall our goal. AGAIN THANK YOU for your simple explanation for understanding.

    IF (20:4)
Water fasting (24-48 hours every 1 or 2 weeks)
    and HFLC diet
    With no snacking...in the middle.
Works well for me....and the best thing it is very effortless. In fact, I don't even think of lunch and breakfast these days.

Gradually drop carbs 10% to ease into it? Nah, went all in day 1 and am loving the keto flu, anxiety and shaky feeling on day 5, haha. Will get through it though as I've done this before and lost 52lbs without trying. It's the first 21 days that's hard. I mentally pretend I'm in a POW camp and am so thankful to have such a delicious full plate of food once a day. Easy, peasy.

Great timing with this awesome video! I’ve been intermittent fasting for five months now working my way to 20/4. This week I am going to start attempting OMAD. My husband and I discovered a great recipe on TH-cam called keto fat head dough. It makes a wonderful pizza crust. The ingredients are just almond flour, an egg, baking powder, and mozzarella cheese. We use tomato paste as our sauce, then all our toppings and more cheese. It’s so delicious. I have never felt better than I have since intermittent fasting. I have had some weight loss and absolutely no cravings. Thank you Dr. Ekberg you have changed my life🥰

I don’t want to lose weight as I already lost 27kg. So even by eating twice a day I still keep losing it. For me those meals shown have way too little meat and butter. I am eating at least 500 g of fatty meat or even 800g sometimes. A lot of butter , eggs. Used to add cucumbers , olives and avocados but noticed that I feel better without them. Just fatty meat and butter what makes me feel great. Almost stopped using olive oil as I almost don’t eat veggies. For cooking I use butter or bacon grease cooked in morning to fry steaks in afternoon.
Used to do one meal a day, with 500g of 15% fat ground lamb pr ground beef. But I no longer want to lose weight. So I most likely will stop intermittent fasting completely and will start eating 3 times a day instead of eating twice in 6 hour window (or once a day).

I like to do OMAD, but can’t sustain it for more than a couple of days in a row...just can’t get enuf calories in my mouth in one meal. I maintain by IF at least 18 hours each day, and throw a 3 day fast in every few weeks. Went Keto in 2018, reversed a bunch of health problems and lost 70lbs. It’s a process, and gets easier the longer you do it. Best of luck to everyone working their way thru to better health!

Meals presented herein are good examples. If not doing OMAD, then cut in half and add a little more fiber, fat, and protein for satiety. Adjust portions if the food item isn't available, NTE 250 calories. Best section is near the end on Insulin.

Im in the same boat. From channels like this and Dr Fung I have reversed my type 2 diabetes and have lost 21 lb in about 2.5 months. Once you get off the bad food the hunger pains and cravings decrease. I eat in a 6 hour window mainly and its ok. I never thought I could ever eat like that but i was eating the high carb food. Now I sometimes do a 24 hour fast just to mix it up. Feeling better, brain fog gone and joints dont hurt anymore. Thank you Dr Stan : )

I did 3 days and that was all I could manage because I was only eating about 500 calories per day and I'm 51, fairly active, 128 lbs at 5'2". Not "too skinny" to do this every day by any means, but I have to triple what I was eating to make this work long term! Thank you so much, Dr. Ekberg! I was thinking OMAD just wasn't for me, but that isn't the case at all.

Thank you for this. I started on carnivore. I seem to be getting fatter! I do love meat and all the carnivore stuff, but I sort of keep wondering about all the other foods. I am sort of becoming scared of vegetables! I will keep with carnival for a few months - but I found this video really inspiring. Seems food can be fun, after all! And there is plenty of variety in what you present. Seems more balanced somehow than carnivore, but those advocates are very convincing to the confused and weak-minded!
