This DIY Mid Century Modern Dresser makeover is our entry into the $100 Challenge. Check out all 24 furniture flippers and furniture makeover artists and see if they can complete the $100 Challenge. The rules are simple: Find a piece of furniture and do a complete makeover for $100 or less. This includes the cost of the furniture and all of the materials used in the refinishing process, but not the cost of power tools or paint sprayers. The Bin Primer needs to be cleaned with ammonia. The critter sprayer only has the jar, tube, and a top piece that needs to be cleaned, so that's why we use the Critter sprayer for primer. It doesn't lay down quite as well as the HomeRight sprayer, but we sand our primer anyway. The HomeRight sprayer (although still easy), has more parts to clean and with the paint, we can just use water. Hope that makes sense...Thanks!

This looks amazing.
I started to paint small furniture pieces and donating them to the thrift stores that work with the Animal Shelters here on Long Island ny.
Well, I used a shellac based primer and it got tacky and dried as I was painting it. Any tips to avoid this.? Thank you. 😊

My guess is that the warm weather is causing it. That's one of the reasons you'll see us spray our primer. You could try using a spray primer in cans. A little more expensive, but saves a lot of time and trouble. Thanks!
