This week I teamed up with 23 other furniture flipping TH-camrs to take the #100challenge. We challenged each other to flip a piece for under $100. I really appreciate you doing and showing all the prep work (thoroughly cleaning, gluing, filling, sanding, repairs); as far as I can tell, only a few of the people in this challenge did any of that. It looked like the majority just wiped the piece down (not everyone did even THAT much!!) and slapped on some paint and new hardware. Your work was very professional. 👍🏻

Awesome job Amber! Completely changed the look of the piece into something so much better! Love your suggestion on putting pads on your staging items. We do this on all of our furniture, but never thought to use them on staging items!

Great idea to remove that scalloped skirt, it almost looks like you could have "ripped it down" and reattached it? I didn't mind the simple little knobs, and I am sure that is what threw you over.
Thank you! I thought of cutting it but it would’ve been way too thin after. I kept the wood though to use on a future project!
@@UniqueUpcycles I see what you mean now, it would have been just a little furring strip, not study enough, sorry it is hard to tell. I have this same 'colonial detail" on something and it just is the only thing that makes it so dated. I do understand why they went to all that trouble, but for 'modern' style it just looks cheap, good call! I have almost ALL of these same button knobs in cabinets, but I think they are style-less, classic almost, so they don't bother me at all. Not tic-toc, but in 10 years, they will look fine.

How did you all decide who would be in the challenge?
Thank you! I did let them know that I’m getting a bunch of positive feedback on it so hopefully if they get enough custom orders for it they’ll bring it back on to the pallet. We just did word of mouth. Starting asking people we knew and they spread the word to others that they knew. It was pretty cool to literally have people from all over the world participating in it.

I don’t know. I believe it was you, working on a piece of furniture that was absolutely giving you trouble. What do you think of the polyvine vs other topcoats?
Polyvine is definitely one of my favorites. I’ve used it on a few pieces in my home and it’s holding up with no issues.
