- Our original plan was to do a restoration on this Mid Century dresser. Things didn’t turn out as planned, so we did an amazing makeover! We recovered from the failure of the restoration and we think we still ended up with a beautiful dresser. Watch what happens that foils our plan for a restoration and how we come up with a plan “B” to save the dresser from going to a landfill and still end up with a great looking piece of furniture.

All "Buy me a coffee" funds are being set aside in a separate account and will be put toward our goal of purchasing a furniture refinishing kit. ($1500). This kit has a large amount of various products for restoring, repairing, and refinishing, as well as various tools. These products can be purchased separately if you just have a specific project, but since we are continuously working on many projects, it is more cost effective to purchase the kit. We are excited to show you all of the many ways you can restore furniture with these products and tools. Thank you for supporting our channel!

Thank you so much for watching!
I love how you two work together! This piece looks awesome!
Beautiful job. Quite the transformation.
Thanks Becky!
You did a lovely job. Thank you !
Thank you! 😊
I love the way this turned out. The hardware looks amazing with the stain and paint colors you chose. Some pieces just need to be painted. I’m glad you’ve refurbished and restyled this dresser. Instead of ending up in a landfill, it can continue its life as useful and attractive furniture for another 70 years.🌸
Thanks so much Deborah! 😊
Very nice, love the white stain and handles also! Great job!
Thanks so much!
Plan B was a winner! I love it❣️
Thank you LaVonne!
Thank you for showing you can "improvise and overcome." For we newbies, it's good to know there are multiple ways to get a piece to look amazing!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Maureen!
GREAT WORK...NICE RESULTS!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Its beautiful piece
Thanks Kathleen!
This video revealed dealing with an issue that most flippers are reluctant to reveal as it feels like a failure - sanding through veneer. I thank you very much for dealing with issue so frankly and so effectively. The results were absolutely lovely. And I love that you modified the base into something more sleek and modern. Great redo!! Love it!!
Thanks Mary Kay! We like to show the good and the unexpected!😊
Super plan B. You should try painting 1/2 of the dove tails the same color as the drawer. I think Mayfield Restorations did that in one of his vids.
Thanks for the tip!
Very nice!
Thanks!
Thanks Kay!
My dear warriors. This was a beautiful flip. You used the same green I used for my project this week. Lots of love a warrior from the heart!!!
Thanks Andy! Love your videos too!
Plan B was fabulous! Nice work, Jim and Cindy.
Thanks Tarnya! Sometimes you gotta go where the furniture takes you!😁
@@FurnitureWarriors absolutely right!
Really like the way you can adapt to situations. Beautiful work.
I agree with you, Laurel: their adaption skills are top notch!
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks Elaine!
It looks lovely, fresh and modern.
Thanks Nailah!
The dresser looks so nice!!
Thanks Caroline!
Really beautiful dresser, well done
Thank you so much 😊
simply gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you! 😊
Plan B turned out just wonderfully! I'm fond of saying that sometimes we don't just need a Plan B, we need a plan for every letter of the alphabet! ;-P
Thanks Joyce!
It looks great! Congratulations on a fabulous save!
Thank you so much!
soft green is gorgeous
Thank you Mary!
You 2 did a great job. So the restore wasn't in the cards for this piece. You adapted and it turned out lovely.
Thank you so much Vickie!
Beautiful!
Thanks Caty!
Really nice! Love the way you did the top and legs with the olive. Also, really enjoy it when you and your wife are bantering back and forth. You guys are cute together!
Thank you so much 😀
I enjoy the banter too. It’s positive and supportive.
Awesome work. Thank you for taking the time to explain how to use the hardware jig and the measuring.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Beautiful indeed!
Thanks Debbie!!!
Mmm, queso 🤣
You two are the best, love how you work together! That green is perfect for spring and the top is lightened up just right. Love it! I have a pickling white in the closet you're inspiring me to try.
Go for it!!! Thanks Jenn!
I like the way you trimmed the base, eliminating the curves on the base created a timeless appeal. The white stained top is fresh and current. The choice of this exact shade of green paint makes the hardware sparkle. This piece is now better than new. I doubt it will remain available for long.
Thanks so much!
Fabulous job! 👏🌹
Thank you! 😊
Oh it looks really lovely
Thanks Shirley!
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks great.
Thank you!!!
A beautiful transformation! I think somebody painted it first and damaged the veneer but you overcame and now a solid piece has a new life ahead. Lovely. 👍😊
Thank you so much!
Great job!
Thanks!
Love it!
Thanks!!
I think it came out beautiful also. You have a Keen Eye of to making up a new plan
Thanks Lorraine!
Very nice 💚
Thanks 😊
Very nice. Everyone is trimming out the apron and legs but in this case the curve matched the drawers and top.
Thanks Jill!
@@FurnitureWarriors I forgot to say that I really appreciate you fixing the drawer guide. So many flippers don’t.
Nice job!
Thanks!
All i use is Dixie Belle Silk. It is an amazing paint. Goes on like butter! Love your channel!
We like Dixie Belle Sillk too! Thanks Edythe!
Turned out amazing! I've done that a few times and boy does it suck! I hate when I blow through the veneer. It just turns your whole train of thought in another direction. Nice save! I love that color too. I've used it several times.
Thanks Lisette! It is a bummer when that happens, but there's always a solution!
Looks good. Because of the blow through, you’re only options were to re-veneer over or paint. I’m guessing based on cost you opted out of re-veneering. The only thing I would have done differently, and this is based solely on my personal taste, is use brushed nickel or stainless hardware versus gold. But other than that, I love the style of hardware. Overall it’s a nice piece.
Thank you!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks!!!
You two are a hoot. I'm gonna buy you a couple ☕ ☕ ❤
So when I used Howard's feed and wax on my dresser from the 1950's, it warped either the base or the drawers and now they don't fit properly anymore 🤔
Did you ever experience that?
Howard Feed and Wax shouldn't warp anything.....never had that happen. Thanks!
I sanded through veneer and had to paint and it looks better.
Hate it when that happens!😀 Thanks Lee!
Y'all did a beautiful job! I like your color combos. That shade of green that you used has been named by Sherwin Williams as the color for spring. Oh, each company calls it something different, but it is the same color. So, you ought not have a difficult time selling it. One lady sold her piece in 30 minutes! Good luck! 🙂👍☘️
Thanks Holly!!!
Ok so....🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Please invest in some decent brushes
When we are painting, we use Zibra brushes and they work very well for us. When we are applying a stain, we are going to wipe back with a cloth, so we use our cheaper brushes since it's only to get the stain on the surface, and not to provide a final finish.
New sub here, greetings from the U.K. great job, looks really elegant
