There's a trick with the r3s, they're actually kinda good at very close range. If you stick on someone's tail and shoot it right when the bandit starts to reverse a turn (or is flying straight), at about 600m-1km, it's most likely gonna hit. There's no time for the enemy to avoid it.

Or use the missile at above 3k altitude , the low air density helps the missile pull more Gs and draw larger distances
not really, the r3 is better used at 1.5km range, when they're close they will tend to pull little because of the propellant
One of the best days in my war thunder carrer was when I won a talisman for the Mig-19PT on a battle trophy, grinded the Soviet tree like a breeze after that.
The big issue with the MiG-19 is that I find myself asking why would I play this over a Su-7B which is at 9.3 and far more fun cause of its better speed
I find the MiG-19 has better manoeuvrability and bc it’s a higher BR, it suits its matchmaker better. Fighting supersonics is actually beneficial bc they’re generally heavier and you can turn with them better whereas subsonics just out turn you all day
the su 7 is a attacker if someone sees you coming they will just move
Su7b/mk preformence is truly incredible for 9.3 195m/s climb at 10,000 meters is unheard of
@@plazmaguy13yago9 didn't they move it up? I've faced quite a few in my a5c and theyre basically free kills since they got no flares and chaff, I do mostly see su25 now but I don't hate it because they are the only plane beside the a10 the gun can do decent in

the MiG17 is a nasty plane. Hard to fly at the speeds everyone goes, but hell yeah drakens are your average food. That fresco thing flies like a Ta152H.
I liked the mig 19 better when it was at top tier you could fly circles around f4es and they were much easier to hit than a g91 cancer rolling
I love when phantoms try to turn with you and full commit with airbrakes out. I feel like I’ve dealt with a deadly enemy.
Also out turning and energy trapping MiG-21s and mirages is extremely enjoyable
@@Spitflyer they turn you and they can on the first turn because their FM is fucking busted (like all US aircraft), all you need is hope that there's not much desync so that they don't hit you while you roll away. First turn is luck based, the next ones are just easy mode, it's tedious, but slow and sure. Expect third parties though.
How I hate the AV8... they only know this one absolute AIDS maneuver. Pop airbrakes, roll and then smash the keyboard violently to make the plane spazm all over the packet-lost server.
@@kingghidorah8106 Eh, its more of an issue of the MiG-19's wing design precluding high AOA relative to delta wing derived designs, in a sustained turnfight though.

I really love this plane but i find it very hard to play because of the compression at high speeds
I just unlocked this plane and started playing again after a 5 year break(grinded from the Mig-15bis) it's been so much fun learning supersonics with this. At first I was struggling to grasp what the playstyle is and ate many missles but as I get the hang of it it's an incredibly fun aircraft to play with especially when you get in these late game dogfights.
Man, mig 15 back in the day was the shit. Mig 19 is very good and fun to learn so get good at it and you'll always be able to go to it for a bit of fun

I’m an avid MiG-19S enjoyer and I have lost literally just a handful of 1v1s due to underestimating a high AoA planes air speed and ability to get guns on target but other than that it’s practically unkillable in a 1v1. Also if u drag pretty much any thing into a rate fight u win every time excluding maybe a good pilot in an F-5E in a custom or something. Altogether my favorite plane and also my best.

Hey spit, thanks for uploading a video about this jet, I've been having a really difficult time with this thing, specifically the MiG-19S in the German tree. But these videos help alot with giving the ideas of how to play it!
I wish, this would work, when i play my german Mig-19. Normally i'm just cannon fodder for all those up BR planes. And for some reason, Gaijin raised it's repair cost skyhigh.

I got the MIG-19s the other day and was honestly quite shocked at how good it was. Downtiers you slaughter and in uptiers you can still out-accelerate and dogfight some opponents and the triple 30mms hit like brick shithouses. I have the full air trees for Britain, Italy, Japan, Russia, Sweden, China and hopefully soon Germany. Despite all of the amazing planes in those trees the Mig-19s is somehow becoming one of my better K/D ratio planes.
I've scored 400 kills on it without killing a single subsonic except a couple swifts and a scimitar that were last on enemy team in a 1v1 situation, I try to never attack or energy trap anything less threatening than an F100D so I've never experienced that clubbiness of mig19
I loved spading the Mig19S. No missiles, no radar, but man what a power monster. My only gripe with it is the strange behavior of the rudder. So many times have I lost a kill because of it. Kinda had to learn to fly it like an infinite energy Ho229, then you kinda feel like a god. At least until some of the undertiered bullshit planes come knocking on your door with top tier missiles. I use it in ground RB now, quick burst into basically anything on the ground and it is in flames.
This plane for me idk why gets consistently uptiered. Like consistently facing F-5c

I'd just gotten into the mig-19PT, haven't figured it out and sort of gave up on it, but you've prompted me to give it another shot.
theres a trick too with gun select you can pretty much double your cannon ammo by shooting 1 gun at a time

he do be. He cherry picks matches in which he bullies the hell out of a team of rookies in overtiered planes and calls himself the shit. He better upload a video of MiG19 at 10.0-10.7, it's there just to snap its wings or eat an aim9g while it's busy dogfighting a Mirage 7km away from the launchpoint. he's got literally 1 kill per battle on the mig19PT showing no discrimination between a Sabre and a Hunter. I've scored 400 kills in 600 battles without having killed a single subsonic except a swift in a last man 1v1, a scimitar that was bullying an La-15 and a Hunter F6. However I'd take the 19S over the PT; one gun more adds more chances to one shot people, since my RNG tells me every shot I land is just an unimportant critical hit that leads to that plane to kill my entire team by just abusing it's superior technology.
Your opinion on the mig19 is very interesting to me. I've played the German mig19s alot and 4v1s or big cluster fights have never been a problem for me. It is just able to control everything.
I find that especially in uptiers, the MiG-19 struggles to effectively deal with targets as opposed to something like the F8 crusader, F-100 or EEL even. The guns are best suited to low speed engagements where you have less trouble aiming shots and having the ability to stick behind your opponent with speed control (throttle and airbrakes) feeds into that.
That being said, it could simply be a product of my personal play style or the matches I find myself in, although from memory I’ve exceeded 400 kills in all MiG-19s.
@@Spitflyer I never try to stay on one enemy, since that would waste energy, just go around the battlefield and take quick shots here and there, so I agree with you, it is probably different play styles
@@sprotofka1317 I totally agree for a cluster but my play style is to isolate enemies so it makes more sense there. Either way it’s good that you’re able to make the MiG work in those engagements as I find myself unable to do so
@@Spitflyer i have a decent amount of experience in the bf109 G6 using three mk108s and that plays very similarly, don't shoot unless you know you hit and keeping the energy advantage above 2-5enemies is doable, maybe you could try it like that

Spit Flyer, the J6A is in a much favorable position alongside the 19S than the MiG19PT, because Germany and China often fly along USA and Britain, which have the strongest rank 6 aircraft of the game.
I find myself more often than not fighting alongside the Soviets just as much if not more than I do against them

That J35A at the end made every damn mistake you could make in that thing vs a Mig-19.
1. He pulled up draining all his speed when he doesn't accelerate from low too well
2. After making that mistake, he failed to capitalize on his aircrafts inherent strength of nose authority to maybe force a shot on you
When he should have done is stay low and fast where he has the speed and handling edge and patiently wait for the Mig-19 player to overcommit the fight and force a knife fight where he can use his AOA to force shots. Even if he can't hit said shots, it will be at least 8-10 seconds before the Mig-19 has a gun solution again (yes, IK he can force defensive with a missile shot, but I have not found that too effective).
Yeah the J35 threw pretty hard lol. I could kinda guess as soon as he pulled for me the first time so I was able to take that guess and make the engagement even more one sided lol

I’ve boosted the volume a bit in my mic settings and compared it directly with old audio on the same track so it should be good now. The SM7b requires double the dB boost that my old mic does

The stock grind is impossible without spending GE to get the modifications. I could get kills all day long in the MiG15BIS and the 17, but I can't get a kill to save my life in this garbage plane.

The 19S plays more like a vulture. Because youre guns only you need to pick low energy low speed targets or targets trying to reclimb.
You CAN try to energy fight but ive never had much success. You also could just be an off around the edge ground pounder going after arty and ai AAA. Grain of salt though, your results may not match mine.
@@garudalead it is literally *the best* energy fighter at this tier, if not in the entire game barring the J-7E. And it doesn’t even see top tier. If _any_ jet can energy fight, it’s this one

can you play the mig15bis? its one of the most powerful aircraft of its br and although it can face supersonic planes etc they are usually braindead and you can easily kill them

I'm using the mig19s to grind to the mig21 mf and f104g on the German tree. Fun plane but sooo hard to get points with. Miss a couple bursts and ur out of ammo. And the German one doesnt get missiles. Cant really ground pound for extra points cuz u dont have the ammo. Locks up a lot at high speed. You have to get up people's ass to kill them, which gives enemy team more time to come over and gank you. Amazing dogfighter but man if you wanna play this plane you really have to go full try hard every game. And even then you would probably get more points by just using a bomber and bombing a couple bases.
Mig19s is at a better spot then the j6a or mig19pt it is lighter and has one more gun (lacks both radars though important in sim) those 2 r3s's wont really get you kills

My expirience with this plane has been pain but agter i got top teir ussr and inoroved tons with missle dodging it is a joy to fly outspeeding phantoms in a climb energy trapping literally any plane i usually keep the afterburner on even though ot doesnt give much more speed at low to medium altetudes just to burn more fuel and be as light as the wind
Also you can 45 degree climb this shit with minimal speed loses uo to 6km
Technically you can actually climb at 90° and accelerate into the vertical, but only at lower speeds. The MiG-19 has a 1:1+ thrust/weight ratio
And they expect you to beat it in an F-100… lol
But yeah, once you get missile dodging down, this thing becomes basically invincible imo
@@collander7766 yea 1:1 at 10kph doesn't help much f100d is truely underpowered but so is the mig19 (to a lesser extent) harriers and f4c's control this airspace f4c got a bit worse climbrate more better missles and better aoa guns and you will always face them
@@collander7766 if you dodge missiles you snap your wings. AIM9Es pull little but are quick and track a hypotenuse between you and the launcher; tricky ones. R60s are easy, but aim9G are pure fucking cancer.

@@collander7766 since you never get a 9G launched at you you will never know. You can also just flare away any IR missile. The 9G is very dreadful, the more distance it gets, the more it pulls, even if it's still burning. Because you only play Western, you'll never find yourself getting a 9G launched at you without flares. I've been killed by AV8s from 3km above from top to down and still hit my ass even despite I did a 180 14G horizontal turn and a 13G Immelmann. It works with R60, J7E's 9G copies and R24T, but not Western missiles. The reason why 9G (and western missiles in general are so hard to dodge in a non flare aircraft) is because they draw the shortest path between the launcher and the target with a very leaded pursuit, while Soviet, Chinese and Swedish missiles draw a pure pursuit copying the target's every move. Hence horrible tracking logic because it's busted, surreal and unbalanced.
How do make large turns , or turns where you are not bleeding you speed? do you use a gamepad or something? or just mouse aiming?

I remember the German one has better t/w ratios an extra gun and better turn time that this and the Russian one. I wanna come back to wt and try the 19. So if I fly the German one, I use the same method of fight? Should be fine right? But without the missiles
The German MiG-19 (S variant) has a 1.06 T/W ratio from a standstill, while the Russian PT has 1.01

I play alot of this game 🎮..it is rare like very rare that my mig 19 pt goes up against 8.7 it few and far.. it's always an up teir and not fun just survival

Russian props are excellent beginner planes. By design they’re meant for people with a few weeks of actual training before being sent to the front lines. If you play Arcade Battles, Russian planes are great to learn off. American planes require patience. Also German planes are decent. Pick those 3 and work on them over time and savour each plane. Most of the fighters are pretty good

Dude, the MiG-21 is potent as hell. Get it spaded and run the R-60s when you get them and you will stomp the yard.

@@JohnSantosLS the F13 feels underwhelming after the 19PT until you figure out when you need to turn, and when you just need to keep burning straight. Mistakes in the MiG-21 are punished a lot more than mistakes in the 19PT.
@@OtterMusician turning isn't really the MiG-21's strong suit. It can pull a lot of AoA and bring that nose around quickly making it great for split second deflection shots but that delta wing burns a lot of energy in turns. As someone who flies both the 21 and the Phantoms, I always try to exploit that weakness as best I can when facing a MiG-21.
You have to play against f104's, and F4's it is not a good jet especially when those jets can turn faster and go faster and have better missiles and guns. This jet shouldnt be at 9.7.
