I love playing the MIG27M in RB. Firstly it's the least full consumption plane in the Flogger series, taking 20 minutes is more than enough, so it makes the MIG27 feels a lot more nimble. Secondly the auto swept wing is more responsive, which helps in fights. And thirdly, that GSh-6-30 cannon remains today the most powerful cannon in the game iirc. It has great balistics too.
Just something i wanna mention about their flight performance when max performing (on full real) The MLD is the only variant of the mig23 that can extend wings fully go flaps and manual SAS mode without its wings dumping mid turn which really helps in dogfights

It also much better than gsh-30-1 which mig-29/yak-141 has cause of its fire rate(for example, you literally can fly between the shells of gsh-30-1 cause it throws like 1 bullet in ages)😂
@@jojomaster7675 how so, berezin 20's are 12.7's bored to 20mm and they fire barely slower, the diff between the 4.000 rpm of gsh23 and barely 300 rounds per minute of the gsh30-1m is huge.
@@kingghidorah8106 The berenzin 20mm is a berenzin UB rechambered from 12.7x108mm to 20x99mm. That's it. The same basic mechanism, both only have a single barrel. The GSH-23 is a 23x115mm double barrel autocannon. It's rof is roughly 3400rpm. It was then rechambered for 30x165mm to create the Gsh-30-2 for the Su-25. It's rof went down to roughly 2500rpm due to the significantly larger rounds it now fired. And since the Gsh-23 was quickly becoming outdated, the soviets had to figure out a new cannon for their fighters. So they simply took the GSH-23-2 and basically cut it in half to save weight, creating the now single barrel Gsh-30-1 autocannon. Which, due to it having half the barrels, also resulted in a much lower rof. Which most definitely isn't 300, but 1800. Which was then for safety limited to 1500. The only place I imagine oyu might be getting 300 from is the GSH-30-2K, which had a variable rof (low being 300rpm, high being roughly 2500rpm). This cannon you can find on the Mi-24P attack helicopter, which was the main reason for it's variable rof.

This is a bug that was caused when they added fuel tanks to the MiG-23s, I think they added the attachable flares in the 23MF's loadout but forgot to remove the "built in" flares. I heard it got fixed although I havent been able to check to make sure. Regardless, theyre both supposed to have 12 flares.
Yeah you missed the boat on being able to smoke F-4J/F-4S players. But there are still a lot of planes that lack J-band detection, the American F5E and Kfir Canard for example
Seems like on controller the camera control is relative so when you move the stick it just moves the camera to that position instead of spinning it. So I tried autohotkey, that kinda worked but the movement wasnt smooth, then I realized I can control my mouse with my hotas and that worked for me Wt camera system is unbelivably scuffed fr
Manual drains a lot of energy in turns compared to auto. So for the most part flying around auto is better, but manual is definitely necessary for dogfighting.

Drives me insane that you have to choose between flares pod and drop tank on the centerline. The literal whole entire point of the centerline pylon's design was to combine the drop tank and flare capability into a single unit. It's not a flare pod like in the loadout the flares are in the fucking pylon and if you choose to put a drop tank on that exact same pylon the flares just vanish

Not sure if this has changed in the last 6mo but the Mig23ML (Premium) and Mig23MLA(Germany) only have the SPO-10 RWR. AFAICT only the Mig23MLD has the SPO-15. Upside, you can detect other Mig23s, downside in Simulation mode you CANNOT detect F-4 Phantom radars (has nothing to do with the band, some weird frequency thing, this has allegedly been confirmed "working as intended")
23MLD is a decent plane even at 12.3. It is tough, but you are still capable to fight 4th gens. By the way, in real life it could carry two R-73s under fuselage. I think MLD would become a serious threat if the snail adds them

They are both fantastic planes in great tech trees with different playstyles. F-4S has a better weapons kit, MiG-23ML has a better airframe. Personally I have more fun in the ML but that's subjective, they're my two favorite 11.3s. Do you like the F-15 or Su-27 more? That might influence your decision
MIG-27s has only ONE thing going for them in A-RB, they have the same engine as the MIG-23, but the electro-optical system is way loghter, so if you dump the ground pound as soon as possible you can, once done, you are thecnically using a lighter MIG-23 with thermal missiles
I dont know if anyone else noticed this but the mig 23 mld compresses more at high speeds, especially the roll rate over the other mig23s. Its not that bad but it feels janky swapping between the ML, MF and MLD since the others feel much snappier
Probably "narrow scan", most radars can narrow their search patterns to cover a small area which makes them update faster and makes selecting and locking targets easier. To help with the speed of the voiceovers I added subtitles to my most recent video and people seemed to like it, I think I'll keep doing that as long as it helps

in SRC mode your radar constantly searches for targets and shows you where they are, in ACM mode it focuses on a small area in front of you and locks the first thing it sees. So ACM mode is the easiest way to get a lock.
I love how people struggle to pronounce some Russian abbreviations. Not trying to be offensive, but it’s always sound really funny. Guide itself is very good tho, I’ve been thinking about getting ML during sales, so it’s good to know it’s strengths and weaknesses beforehand.
I usually just go with the "accepted" western pronunciation, even if I know it's wrong, because if I try to say it the russian way, it sounds forced and unnatural

I have noticed that the Mig-23MF can carry an additional 12 flares instead of a drop tank, but of course you still only get 12 pops
That's a bug, I believe it got fixed but I dont own the MF so I couldnt double check. Its supposed to have 12 like the 23M.

Bit of a quirk is that the 23's radar used to lack IFF in MTI, it's now fixed and has it, same as IRL, where it had IFF in MTI

Do you recommend running on manual sweep for the wings, or letting the game automatically control the sweep angle for you?
Auto is fine most of the time, but switch it to manual 0% sweep when youre about to start a fight (or if you get caught off guard)

MIG-27s has only ONE thing going for them in A-RB, they have the same engine as the MIG-23, but the electro-optical system is way loghter, so if you dump the ground pound as soon as possible you can, once done, you are thecnically using a lighter MIG-23 with thermal missiles

I dont know if anyone else noticed this but the mig 23 mld compresses more at high speeds, especially the roll rate over the other mig23s. Its not that bad but it feels janky swapping between the ML, MF and MLD since the others feel much snappier

Probably "narrow scan", most radars can narrow their search patterns to cover a small area which makes them update faster and makes selecting and locking targets easier.
To help with the speed of the voiceovers I added subtitles to my most recent video and people seemed to like it, I think I'll keep doing that as long as it helps

in SRC mode your radar constantly searches for targets and shows you where they are, in ACM mode it focuses on a small area in front of you and locks the first thing it sees. So ACM mode is the easiest way to get a lock.

I love how people struggle to pronounce some Russian abbreviations. Not trying to be offensive, but it’s always sound really funny. Guide itself is very good tho, I’ve been thinking about getting ML during sales, so it’s good to know it’s strengths and weaknesses beforehand.
I usually just go with the "accepted" western pronunciation, even if I know it's wrong, because if I try to say it the russian way, it sounds forced and unnatural
@@jaek_898 I know, don’t worry. In my book - people can pronounce it whatever they like, as long as it’s clear what they are talking about. IMO it gives someone’s speech more flavour, one of the reasons I love accents so much.
