The idea of accelerated limb growth is intriguing. One thing to consider would be the resource and energy demand on the body. I saw a short where a guy gives one super power to someone and it brought up that while they gave him instant regeneration, that left him in a coma while his body crashed since it took all the resources at one time. We would have to figure out a way to either externally provide the body with what it needs or also find the section of DNA that switches that capability on/off as needed. In a way, I could see the first few attempts resulting in a Deadpool type body as every cell is constant trying to repair over and over non-stop...
To each their own I personally thought the game was complete trash I mean come on everything is linear you basically walked on a straight line and all you gotta do to Dodge attacks is literally hold a direction and you can do this all freaking day. It's almost like a completely different team handled the graphics and a completely different team handled the combat
You raised a question I have in regards to regrowing limbs. Let's say we figure it out and even figure out how to accelerate the growth without accelerating the rest of the body's aging. Wouldn't it have a massive energy and resource use? Enough that it could lead to insufficient resources in other systems?
It’s possible the virus breaks down certain systems and organs that no longer have a purpose and can reallocate the matter and energy to fuel its transformation
I suppose it depends on your nutrient intake/usage ratio. I remember hearing Olympic athletes eat ridiculous amounts of food to keep their energy up, maybe it’s possible if you just amp up your diet to the extreme with protein and carbs?
If it can change your biochemistry to that of a toddler or an adolescent it might be viable. But things would need to be switched to one of those times a lot of things are firing at once when you are awake or asleep
Given the reflex action, like that of moving your hand away from a stovetop you didn’t realize was on, bypassing the brain and working only through the spinal cord, I would think that the idea of the spinal cord being more influential than just being a bridge would be obvious
Hopefully this franchise improves with DLC and sequels. By the way, the stegosaur second brain theory is highly outdated now, as it was just based on a gap within the pelvis one scientist thought was meant for a second brain.
22:05 Actually, the Stegosaurus second brain hypothesis has been disproved for some time now, Stegosaurus didn't have two brains, Only One, also no, there wasn't a "proto-brain" nor anything brain related on its tail.
What disproves it though? The only thing I’ve read saying that it doesn’t was that it has a weird gap in its hips and somehow birds help disprove it. The problem I have with that is that no one knows what glycogen bodies actually do. So perhaps it’s a pseudo brain in a way? I’m not an expert in this but I’m tired of the answer of no with explanations than “I said so”
@@theonewhouploadsnothing1704 So you have your answer already, if you wanna know more go read the paper that disproves it then, and no, there is nothing remotely close to a "second brain" in stegosaurus, i'm not a paleontologist to tell sources and stuff but is easy to find in the internet, anyway, a second option if you wanna know more about dino-related stuff go check a channel called "E.D.G.E." he's got videos about the stegosaurus topic if i'm not mistaken.
Children up to age 2 have been documented with the ability to regrow finger tips. Stem cells in the nail bed are still active at that age and even bone loss can get recovered if the nail bed remains partially intact. Humans are still very cool just being humans.

They stated in-game that a weaker version of the disease was released on Europa to test it and nobody turned into zombies there, they just gurgled and freaked out a bit before dropping dead. (The guy who rushes you in the prologue before you find your sister and take your mask off wasn’t turned he was just suffering and panicked) It might be that some parasite exposure is needed for someone to become infected (like how Bubonic plague needed a vector to spread and wasn’t automatically infectious unless in its Pneumonic form) as Danni had been exposed on two different colonies and didn’t become infected until she got attacked by the parasite, which was itself very very brief, likely why she took longer to start turning even before suppressants were administered.
The biggest problem we have for exploration of space is we human need a certain sound our planet makes or anxiety will take hold. This could be an impossible thing to do and could be why we don't see Aliens everywhere
at 22:05 you said the stego had 2 brain, 90% sure it was found to only have one. there was some scientist in the past that thought the body was to big to has such a small brain so he proposed the idea of the 2nd brain.

But Roanoke, wouldn't all this *rapid* tissue growth cause all of these creatures to poop everywhere, all the time as they blew through calories like Chester Cheetah on a bender?
Certified dinosaur-fixated autistic here to gently correct that stegosaurus did not have an “extra brain” in its tail and it was just a misinterpretation of the anatomy by some guy a long time ago- it was a stretch to assume that even back then but it was somehow persisted in popular culture lol I think a better example would be an octopus with its arm-brains! Those are super cool!
I'm sure there's already a thousand comments of this already, but I'd like to point out that Stegosaurus didn't actually have two brains. It's a common misconception, and initial paleontologists only thought they had two brains due to how small the brain in its head was.
People should watch the growth of a living creature from a single cell, it's very freaky and cool to see it rapidly splice into dozens of other little cells and form into a living creature.
I would love to see you look into warhammer 40k. I think you would have a field day with all the weird science stuff and the diffrent species of life like the tyranids.
The best part of Callisto Protocol, other than Karen Fukuhara, is the implementation of photo mode because now you can get quality closeups to examine their physiology.
I hadn't even heard of this game until I saw someone playing it on live stream but I knew right away it was makers of Deadspace. It is in fact too much like it.
Wait, so Roanoke, if ALL the genes were activated all at once in every cell, wouldn’t that cause those infected to become super tumors with everything expressed leading to masses of bone, muscle, gut, nerve, eye, etc tissue? With each cell line being responsible for different responsibilities for the new organism. Or on the contrary, just a mass of dedifferentiated cells, though this option doesn’t make as much sense. Also I may have missed it in this video, but how do the infected know to not attack fellow infected with all of their brain damage, worsening vision, and hyper aggression?
you should take a look at the Movie "Trench 11" i think it has a really interesting premise it is similar to overlord, in that it has wartime experiment plot
That is something I'd like to learn more about, is your mind just in your brain or does your mind run throughout your whole body. I recall stories of people getting organ transplants and then taking on characteristics of their donor.
not sure where to request things, but i was rewatching the riddick films and realised, much to my dismay, youve never done one on the creatures from it. i think it would be a good idea but not so sure about demonitisation.

Children up to age 2 have been documented with the ability to regrow finger tips. Stem cells in the nail bed are still active at that age and even bone loss can get recovered if the nail bed remains partially intact. Humans are still very cool just being humans.
Another cool episode showing how bilogy works and i guess how real these kind of things can be well in terms of the body changes and reacts atleast not so much the viral mutation. Still really awesome though
They stated in-game that a weaker version of the disease was released on Europa to test it and nobody turned into zombies there, they just gurgled and freaked out a bit before dropping dead. (The guy who rushes you in the prologue before you find your sister and take your mask off wasn’t turned he was just suffering and panicked)
It might be that some parasite exposure is needed for someone to become infected (like how Bubonic plague needed a vector to spread and wasn’t automatically infectious unless in its Pneumonic form) as Danni had been exposed on two different colonies and didn’t become infected until she got attacked by the parasite, which was itself very very brief, likely why she took longer to start turning even before suppressants were administered.
God, this is such a good video. Why are you so good at this???
The biggest problem we have for exploration of space is we human need a certain sound our planet makes or anxiety will take hold. This could be an impossible thing to do and could be why we don't see Aliens everywhere
at 22:05 you said the stego had 2 brain, 90% sure it was found to only have one. there was some scientist in the past that thought the body was to big to has such a small brain so he proposed the idea of the 2nd brain.
Thanks for the info with sperms and egg. Had no idea. Great video
Superstition says you may only joke twice per electric boogaloo.
I'd love a Roanoke podcast
In the game they explain that a byproduct of their research of the phage was released on europa not the phage itself.
Oi, add another to the "Starting with the feet" counter. Now, because I am generous we can remove a few counters from your record if you consider doing a cross over with Max Derrat. Combine powers to escape the prison of meat and make us whole again.
I've been so interested in this game I haven't gotten it yet surprisingly but after watching these videos you have made it's gonna make it way more enjoyable when I finally play it knowing the science and lore(ish). You good sir keep it up! Also second comment on your videos lol.
I don’t recommend the game and I respect your opinion but to be honest please if you haven’t already check out Signalis or Evil within 1 or 2 and Prey 2017 ❤ love you man just remember to be careful with your money but If you are gonna get it remember get the ps5 version I don’t particularly like the game but If you wanna get it I respect your purchase
I liked it. Try to get it on sale, though.
But Roanoke, wouldn't all this *rapid* tissue growth cause all of these creatures to poop everywhere, all the time as they blew through calories like Chester Cheetah on a bender?
you should do the alien biology of the buggers from Enders Game, that would be awesome.
Callisto Protocol, that one game you heard about being a letdown despite only hearing about it after release.
It was pretty hyped up for dead space and resident evil fans and the like. Probably
ALOT of people were hoping it would start reviving the horror genre, alas, no such luck
Certified dinosaur-fixated autistic here to gently correct that stegosaurus did not have an “extra brain” in its tail and it was just a misinterpretation of the anatomy by some guy a long time ago- it was a stretch to assume that even back then but it was somehow persisted in popular culture lol
I think a better example would be an octopus with its arm-brains! Those are super cool!
the thumbnail game is on point roanoke keep it up
I think I’ve seen 90% of Roanokes videos at the point.
The educational proficiency of his videos have entranced me lol
And I appreciate you watching!
Of course Roanoke I love learning about my enemies before I fight them and the not educational side of them.
I'm sure there's already a thousand comments of this already, but I'd like to point out that Stegosaurus didn't actually have two brains. It's a common misconception, and initial paleontologists only thought they had two brains due to how small the brain in its head was.
Hey Roanoke. Not sure if you know about the Prototype series, but do you think you could do any videos on those?
He definitely is the type and that would make an awesome video
Saweet, my online professor ! Now I can learn important biology stuffs
hope you enjoy!
"The pelvic area seems to be increasing in size"
*Slams hand on the table* GIVE ME THE VIRUS
I’m looking forward to Roanoke doing a breakdown of the creatures in the System Shock remake.
The most terrifying clip in this video was the Range Of Motion on that flat bench clip
Will you do a video on the new deadspace?
I love being on time for the videos!
thanks for watching bro!
would love to see you do a vid on Barbarian
you should take a look at the Movie "Trench 11" i think it has a really interesting premise
it is similar to overlord, in that it has wartime experiment plot
That is something I'd like to learn more about, is your mind just in your brain or does your mind run throughout your whole body. I recall stories of people getting organ transplants and then taking on characteristics of their donor.
This was a great retelling of Dead Space.
Wonder if they have a "callisto-20" style notation for the pathogen.
Dude is definitely special as he doesn’t get infected at all .
Yay finally
Also when you go back to being a full time scientist would u still post the odd video or would it be the end of Roanoke gaming?
not sure where to request things, but i was rewatching the riddick films and realised, much to my dismay, youve never done one on the creatures from it. i think it would be a good idea but not so sure about demonitisation.
22:40 Damn, it has been a while since I saw that animation for the first time.
>Roanoak surprised by the extent of human stupidity online
We haven't even reached the bottom of the barrel yet.
Raycon?! I'm listening to this through them!
They're very nice
It put me in mind of Star Trek and dead island and a threw other games that I can’t remember. Can you do some videos on Star Trek please.
Good thing I completed this game so no spoilers anywhere anymore for me :)
Didn't take you very long did it probably one sitting
the boogaloo joke is classified as a “running joke” and can thusly be used indefinitely. currently awaiting the bugaloo 2: bugaloo mixtape
Great video, man! I'd suggest checking out those camouflage biophages next (forgot what they're called), really interesting design and abilities
boys, we have the biology and morphology of these creatures ALONGSIDE the dead space rework, roanoke is gonna spike back up into views
Could you go over the skags in the Borderlands franchise?
potentially in the future!
@@RoanokeGaming awesome!
Hey longtime subscriber first time commenter; Can you do the headcrabs from half-life?
