    Yup. Just did this on my 2016 Silverado. Three of the screws were about to fall out. Thanks.
    Most of the noise seemed to come out of the top left of the dash, now 95% of the noise is gone. The dash panel does seem a bit creaky still tho...
    I appreciate you!

    So, had the same rattle in my 2016 LTZ. Found your video, had it fixed in 10 minutes. Removed knee bolster panel, found that 3 out of 4 dash bracket screws had all backed out at least 1/4". The captive washer on the screw "floats" a bit, and when not tight, is causing the clacking rattle. It should be noted that I drive alot on National Forest/WMA service roads - all dirt/gravel. Likely accelerated the backing out of screws. I see tightening them as a temp fix. On these dirt roads, I feel its a matter of time before they just back out again. A better locking fastener should go there.

    My 2016 Silverado has had a very slight rattle coming from somewhere. I usually can't hear it with the radio on. Today I took that cover piece off and all 4 screws were loose. Just tightened them up and put the cover piece back on and went for a drive. No more rattle!

    Thank you so much for making this. Mine is five years old, got sick of the rattle, found this. After a couple of minutes watching your video and finding out the bottom screws are torn T-15, I pulled off the panel to find one screw just fall out, one was backed it a quarter inch and the rest could use some tightening.

  • @michaelmcnamara6004
    @michaelmcnamara6004 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you, I was having difficulty pulling off the panel but I found that if I pulled from the top that it was a lot easier. The rattle has been plaguing me for years and I'm glad that it is finally gone. It ended up being that same lower screw on the right.

    1,000 kudos to the guy that made this video. My truck is nearly 4 years old and after driving down a gravel washboard road, my truck started making a rattling noise from under the steering wheel. Started to research TH-cam to determine how to remove the cover without mangling it up and came across this video. Not only did it show me how to remove the cover, but ended up being the solution to my problem as well. Hallelujah!!

    I’ve had a rattle in my 2014 for a few months. It had gotten progressively worse so I decided to look for options and found this video. I took the panel off and one of the four screws fell out. It had worked itself out completely. I put it back in and tightened the other three and no more rattle! Thanks!

    Same thing present in my 2014. I tightened them up 3 years ago and have not had another noise from that area. Mine were as loose as yours are in the video. In my mind, there has to be someone on the assembly line leaving these loose. Look at all of the comments mentioning the same issue.

    Man, thanks so much for this video! 2014 Silverado with 27k miles. The second I released one of the bottom clips, one of those bottom screws fell to the floorboard!
