    Thanks for this video....7 years later. Steve is the perfect person for this. No small talk, told you what you needed and that's that

    Great no nonsense video! I also like that there are no edits. So it's not like it took you guys 2 hours and you made it look like it only takes 5 minutes. Thank you!

    Thank you so much for thus video! This solved my problem I've been having for months now. You can hear it over the radio and everything. I fixed the dash yesterday and I turned the radio off on the way to work today just for the sheer fact that I had no rattle. It was so peaceful driving. Lol.

    I just bought a 2018 Silverado and been racking my brain to figure out what the damn noise it when going over snow/ice at slow speeds...Id bet its those damn cables you covered in foam. You're my HERO!

    The great ideas that people come up with that GM should have already thought about this. I drive a Yukon 07 and i'm always watching and learning new things on how to fix things myself. It's all about trying to save your hard earned money. It's amazing how in the 70's and the 80's cars and trucks didn't have nearly the problems they have now.

    For you idiots asking about specific fixes for your dash.... Ever taken your dash apart? Or any of your interior? Every single piece clips in like this.
    Put duct tape over ever clip you can. Problem solved.
    I LOVE you guys for opening my eyes to this. My entire dash shakes and I can pretty much hear it being these clips. Not sure how to explain that but I bet the guy who fixed it will know what I mean.
    Thank you! When I re install my dash after upgrading my head unit and speakers I will re install every clip in the entire dash with some duct tape.

    Had a rattle for MONTHS. Removed and taped the dash clips like people mentioned, removed the dash compartment under the steering wheel and the sunglasses compartment up top and nothing. Ended up being the screw for the battery bracket in the engine compartment that runs across the battery. Rattle kept coming from the windshield center area.

    I'll try it. 2 dealerships told us our new-to-us $44,000 Denali came with a "known issue" and GM fixed it on newer models....my wife is furious...wants to go to a better brand. I can't believe they did this...I'm not a GM guy....but I doubt I'd ever look at one again after this...seriously...GM let this go on for 6 -7 years? wow!

      It's a sacrifice for easy assembly. These model years have some of the easiest maintenance because of the simplicity you can take the whole dashboard out in under 10 minutes.

    Does the duct tape affect how securely the clips hold the panels together?

  • @b2ja03
    @b2ja03 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    This a common issue? I can only hear mine make a rattling noise on the highway and it sounds like it's coming from the driver and passenger sides. Up on dash by the windshield.

    My 04 does it when I accelerate only. I have a cold air intake on there so engine noise gets a little louder when accelerating at higher rpms, once it smoothens out, it disappears. Anybody know how to stop it ?

    I had a new noise start today in my Yukon, it's a ticking sound coming from behind the dash on the drivers side. It still does it with the vehicles engine turned off. Any ideas?

    what about a rattle that sounds like the emergency brake Assembly, it happens when on a bumpy road.

    • @TheRealBiggerAl
      @TheRealBiggerAl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Holland that’s probably the metal/plastic rattling where the parking brake release handle is. Get foam and place between the metal and plastic to stop that rattle.
