I skipped the trimaran boat video a few times as I thought "this is not what I am looking for'' But then I watched it. very nice. It ad s a new dimension and a reminder that U-Tubes and the likes should not reduce our mind openings,
I have become hooked on these wonderful adventures. I lived in Alaska for many years and had many great adventures in my young manhood. These go over the top in a calm sort of fearlessness and celebration of life..
This was a fun, wild episode. Thank you for sharing this. Impressive how that little thing could fly over the water with some wind. You look like you really had fun out there. Cheers from Victoria 🇨🇦.
This one was great, as an American that has visited some European countries, including Iceland, I've really wanted to make a trip to Finland. Your sailing and camping adventure looks amazing, definitely would love to visit your country.
Oh my! Loving it! TorLly agree with you about how fun tgese littje boats can be! This brings back fun memories of sailing a hobbie cat in the summer months.. so so so much fun.
Winter hiking and skiing in Alaska is OK but it looks like Finland has a lot more to offer. We will see. My only sailing was with a Hobie Cat & it was an absolute blast. We learned to pitch-pole it & the power boaters would rush out to save us. If you didn't right it before the mast flooded it was a real pain. Hauskuus !
A quick tip for your drone landings: the drone will shut off immediately if you flip it upside down. That tends to be quicker and easier than using the controller to send a shutoff switch. So just grab it, and then flip it so it's completely upside down.
fun little trip. I know nothing of Finland, but now ready to book a vaca there. I had no idea it was made up off all those lakes. I think the Fins are keeping their place a secret. Glad you had descent weather for your little voyage.
Thanks Juho and Kuutti! Great drone footage over the Päijänne National Park. It did justice to the scenery. I used to sail there several summers with my family on a cruising boat. Good luck on your winter sailing season in Alaska.
I think your ride is a bit more exciting than vegabond, although we're all sad you don't have an indoor plants onboard. Thanks for sharing your odyssey. Looking forward to getting back into sailing soon.
Another great video Juho! It was so good to see you and Kuuhti (sorry if I spelled his name wrong) out sailing in Finland. Oh my goodness the scenery there is so amazing and on par with you footage of Norway and Alaska. When you get back to Finland I would be really interested in seeing more video footage from you native country. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your next video release.
Thanks Juho & Kuutti for this absolutely beautiful episode. The photography was truly breath taking and we enjoyed the Party as well. Best with the winter sailing in Alaska!
Hi Juho, great to see this camping trip. The light wind trim was almost correct 😅 Weight to the front is right but on a multihull you also try bring weight to the leeward side. I usually sail Catamarans of that size, on a Trimaran you will want one hull out of the water and the 2 other sterns out of the water so you hear no splashing. On my F18 Catamaran this trim feels quite strange as you dig in the leeward bow to half of it's height, even though the bows are quite high. When there are gusts you quickly have to get back to normal trim then but when you sail regatta this is the fastest... But don't capsize due to optimising low wind trim when there are gusts 😂 We once did some similar camping with our F18 but it was way more wet and less relaxed. So far we have not done it again... let's see 😂 Thank you for the great videos!
Thanks for your explanation of light wind trim. As a confirmed monohull dinghy and keelboat sailor the whole multihull thing is a fairly closed book to me, akin to a black art. That doesn’t stop me from being interested though, always something to learn and hey, you never know, one day I might just go over to the dark side. 😂 Cheers and thanks, R. 😎👍🍻
@@robm.4512 The dark side is usually pretty much fun 😀 Sailing faster than the wind in the speed-range of good Windsurfing amateurs (not professionals) can be quite a lot of fun. The well performing small Multihull without foils can reach the 30Knot-Region... but then you should know what you are doing as capsizing at that speed can hurt 😉
@@_plinse Yeah! Sounds like fun, mad, but fun. A friend of mine has a Dart and he’s been trying to persuade me to crew for him. Hmmm, maybe I’ll give it a try, I owe him since he stepped in to crew for me during our local regatta month last year. I thought that buying him beer was enough but I think he wants to return the pain as well. 🤣
@@robm.4512 Go for it, it's fun. The Dart 18 of a friend was the first Catamaran I sailed, later I got me an old Bimare A-Cat and later a Nacra F18. On the A-Cat and the F18 you can go faster than on the Dart but you can make more severe mistakes. The likeliness of mistakes is the highest on the A-Cat while the F18 is more forgiving when going the speed of the Dart but that changes when you are having Wind and when you are pushing the limits 😉 Have Fun!!
I did the R2AK on a Prindle 19. This reminds me of that trip. The best trick for sleeping well in a tent is ear plugs and an eye mask. It’s all the unusual sounds and the loud sleeping bag material that often wake you up. Give it a try next time you camp!
You could have collected pine or spruce sap from trees in the area, then rendered it down into tar in a tin can over a fire to seal that porthole. Pine tar has served well as a maritime sealant and preservative for a long time before dolphinite and sikaflex existed.
Loved this episode because it reminded my summer holiday 2 years ago in Joutsa. The Thousand Lakes region in Finland is amazing, especially for a summer holiday.
You are great !!!! Just great !!!! Go finland go !!!!! As usual your videos are inspireing, authentic, beautiful, interesting, entertaining, insightful & just plain awesome !!!! Thank you soooooooo much !!!!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've never seen the sun still up at like 9pm or midnight since I live in the southern hemisphere & I've only travelled as far as the equator. It must be difficult to fall asleep while there is so much light. Years ago when I was working 12 hour shifts from midnight to midday when I got home to sleep I had to always shut myself into a dark room to sleep. Even today when I take short 45 mins sleeps during the day in a bright room I need to set up a half tubular hood above the top half of my body to darken the area above my face enough for me to sleep.
Yes, I agree! For those who have never flipped a Sun Fish over I feel badly for you. I did that regularly for a few years. I was watching a TH-cam video of a guy who had his Yachter Masters licensing for near shore AND Blue water. He took a Laser out and turtled it (in New England speak). He had no clue as to how to right the thing.
That was a very inspiring video, maybe even I can afford a trimaran of that size! Looked like great fun! Trimarans certainly have an apparent particular dynamic advantage, thank you.
Weird to see you in a places I have been. I can't agree with you about the weather, though. I haven't used anything but shorts and t-shirt since beginning of june. Yesterday was the first time, since day temperature dropped below 10C. This is exceptionally warm autumn and sometimes we have first snow about this time. I also tend to stretch mental summer from both ends. Anyway, summers are quite warm unless there's cold or rainy days.

Really, enjoying Lumi hope you make some great additions to an already great refit..
Finland looks awesome, like Minnesota in Europe
That is a comically small storage hatch!! 🤣🥲
14:53 "It is now midnight" God I love Finland

The joy of being a kid with a new toy. I didn't realize Finland has so many waterways. Thanks for sharing.
Dawg your username is goated
I don't think I've ever seen any pictures of Finland that didn't have snow in them. It's beautiful.
Many thanks, Juho, for all your efforts to make these videos become real!
A very nice and beautiful video from Finland. Good to see Sofvi again. Have fun and be safe.

I liked your lake adventure. The silly things young men do to make memories later in life turn out to be some of the best memories.
Tack!
That small tri-maran looks fun as hell to sail.
Love amazing humans, truly captivating, kind soul. The talent you posses is incredible . Top sailing channel. All time
Great video Juho. It was nice to see some of the beautiful Finnish scenery. We need to see more of Sovfie too. She’s so cute!
Hyvä Suomi pläjäys, hienoa meininkiä!
I was impressed by your appreciation of the little sailboat. Having such a great vessel as Lumi, I would think that you are spoiled. Thank you.

Nice video of Finland and friends! Back to Alaska for some ski adventures and good sailing! Thanks for your videos !
It was fun to see the film from Finland and I'm looking forward to the continuation of the Alaskan sailing👍 it will be exciting👍👏👏
Love the small boat sailing! Much more my style with the Hobie Tandem Island.... flying at over 10 knots!
Finland is great, you should make more videos from there.
This reminded me of a canou trip we did years ago on lake saima, one week from island to island.
Love the Finish nature.
Is Sohvi back on board after her time away…. Its so nice to see the both of you❤

Loved this - I was so startled when you said you were having pizza at 10pm! It looked like 1pm.
That was an awesome!! My partner said it brought back memories of his younger days with his mate. Love your videos 😃

trimaran. I'm looking forward to ski season in Lake Tahoe California myself..
Wow! , that little boat looks like a load of fun and it really gets along nicely!
That video brought back memories when I was young and spent summers on the lake with allot of hobie cats, very good memories, thank you for the video.

24:00 May I recommend a “Dark and Stormy”? Ginger beer and your favourite Rum. Seems appropriate for your content.
Thank you, Juho and Kuutti for broadening my view of Finland! Very fun for my mind! Always delightful to watch your videos.
Middle of the night and still so light.
9pm and it looks like its the middle of the day, great content loved the trip 💯💯💯
Chanel=canal.
You can loop a rope through the hanging ropes in the lock to avoid the slime.
Greetings from Elimäki! 😊

light wins on the lakes ------ so peaceful
If ever in the U.P. or northern Wisconsin it's similar. Our grandparents came from Finland, you may like it.
Epically cool! That little crafts moves....
6:44 they are a lot of fun with W I N D 🎉
This was fantastic, we loved it! We're looking forward to your winter sailing/skiing season, too. Keep up all the great videos.

I have also a Weta in Finland. It is surprisingly fast and nice experience to sail with it. Thank you for the good editing of the Video.
A cool video getting us all back to where a lot of us started. And I don’t mean Finnish lakes.

Thanks for a grelt video😊
Wonderful video thanks.
Really enjoyed your videos in Finland. Nice to see the Finns enjoying themselves
Interesting video. Bit different. Nice to see a New Zealand designed Trimaran and also the New Zealand bubbles at the end. Love that Lindauer!!
Seriously?? I never win anything!!!!.
@alluringarcticsailing.
At 19:17 what does the sign in the background say? NO CAMPING....BEARS WILL EAT YOU....😀
That seemed to be fun, a neat trip. Thanks for sharing, i was surprised to see you in shorts a T shirt.
17:00 Hard to tell if this is 4 am or 8 am in Finland. 😎
Looks like you had fun
Complimenti per tutti i tuoi video!! Non vedo l’ora di vederne altri! Buon vento da Venezia!! Enjoy!!
I liked the cheeky jab at SLV
