You two young folks are amazing. Sailing in some of the most remote waters on the planet in weather only an Eskimo could love and you never complain. Instead you love the adventure. I watch quite a few sailing channels with young people sailing in the warm waters of the Caribbean and listen to them complain if they get some rain or the price of a drink at one of the beach eateries is to high. It's so refreshing watching a channel with two young people who embrace the outdoors in some real adverse weather and you laugh and love the adventure. Stay safe and continue to enjoy nature and all it has to offer once you leave all the things that most people require to be happy. I really envy you and your simple perfect lifestyle.

Last year after anchoring in the Puget Sound I untied my dinghy and jumped in only to find no oars, no key on the outboard, and strong winds swiftly blowing me away from my boat. No radio or cellphone either! Sunset was an hour away. I had never paddled so swiftly using only my arms!
yeah, we usually carry a shore bag with a good amount of emergency equipment with us. One of the biggest dangers here I think is that you leave the dinghy and come back to find out that a bear has ripped it apart...

It's a good thing factories around the world make millions of 10 mm sockets every day. The gravitational pull on these sockets is huge, whether on land or sea. Also a good thing that (so far) no one pays a tax per socket on lost ones. If the authorities ever do, I'll be broke. 8^) Great to see you and Sohvi again, happy sailing!

Even though most of the video footage from the refitting process was lost, I would still love to see an episode where you talk through the stuff you did, and perhaps present it from the current perspective. You could comment on how the boat holds up in the environment you are in, what was made better and what you would do differently. How is the boat sailing and what makes it special?

Yes, I think a wood stove would be a fantastic source of heat not only for burning cardboard waste but there is so much driftwood on that area you would have an infinite supply of fuel!
Noticed your OB tank was quite full. You probably forgot to open the tank vent or it was frozen over and sealed creating a vacuum and preventing the fuel in your gravitational fuel feed system from flowing into the carb. Trust me - I've done it myself with that very motor. It happened to me on Catalina Island at night in the summer. I had no oars or radio and the wind was blowing me out of Two harbors toward LA when an accommodating young lady took me in tow back to the island, festivities and embarrassment.

When i was a sea scout we had a rule that all outboards have to be tied with a piece of rope on to the boat. That saved our outboard a few times when the tightening screws got loose.

What you did was great with the card board and wood waste and paper . I am retired for last 13 years … in Canada …. Just getting by … love a bit of sailing and like what you are doing in the winter , especially in the winter and far North . Been to Southern Norway in the 1970 . You are a specialist in maintaining your all your sail boats and will go a long ways in your journeys… l sorry I can’t donate any money to your videos,,, but I do wish you the best in your life journey that will bring joy to your happiness

I’ve been watching since you guys purchased the boat! I really like your humanity and being present. I wanted to reach out after hearing about the job situation. I know you can’t see it now, but some day you will look back at this and know it was all part of a master plan. 10 & 13mm sockets seem to be the most common thing the ocean likes to consume, glad I'm not alone!
Landcruisers eat 14mm sockets.

I think its safe to say in this situation that experience,common sense,and the ability to see topography can be a good thing when local knowledge is not available.

Nice back of the neck shot. Thats a good shot... the snow melts down the back. I thought I may have seen a culturally modified tree (CMT) but maybe that wasn't a cedar tree? Maybe a scar from bear scratching? The CMT is evident where native peoples have stripped the cedar bark and cambium for use as baskets, clothing, etc. No harm done to the tree if done in the traditional way. Enjoy and thank you.
