- No one told us how much maintenance our 5 acres would be 😅, especially during the summer when our property becomes a jungle. This week we are searching for the best method to tackle taking care of the property faster and effectively with the Lane Shark on the front of the tractor and our new bush hog on the back! This property is about to get a major makeover!

Yes. Do the clean up series. It is satisfying to see it in progress and finished. Yay!
Strangely, watching one do yard work and seeing the before and after is relaxing. Some channels do only that.
Keep the clean up videos coming! Entertaining and informational! Great video, yall.
Keep the clean up videos coming. I love a your content! It gives me a thrill to see how excited Molly gets when the clearing is getting done and Dylan’s dry humor is addictive! God bless you both!
Yes I would like to see a series of cleaning up the property
Clean up videos are the best! It’s the before and after!!
Fyi, the bolt where the pto shaft connects to the gear box is called a shear bolt. It's there to protect the gear box on the brush hog. You are doing a great job with your cleanup. I love following along with all of your projects.
Thanks for the info!
It is satisfying to see it in progress and finished Def do a cleanup series
Love watching clean up videos! Definitely do a series!
Yes clean up series sounds amazing
Clean-up? Yes, please!
I really like clean up videos!
I wouldn't mind zying. Y'all get a limb mulcher and mulch up some of them. Electric limbs that you got laying around and you know kind of get you. A couple of those metal raised beds and put that in the bottom of them. I start your little garden with them with it. Because that'll be hold in the moisture. And then put your dirt on top of that. They're about 2 foot tall, so you just fill them half with that ground up tree limbs and then I fill the other half with dirt. The limbs that are composting at the bottom, taking holding the moisture, while the plants grow and the roots grow in it, and then they keep. Grown, you don't have to water as much.
I use pins with clips on the hooks but I only have one implement that I have to change it for. I cut 4" pine saplings and 2" hardwood saplings with my brush hog.
Yes! Let's see it all
Great job young man. Now bring that thing to my house and get to work.
I vote yes on the clean up videos. More importantly, please, please, please, do not stand anywhere near the brush cutter when in use. It can throw rocks, stumps, debris hundreds of feet and people have been killed. A chain type guard helps, but isn't a guarantee. And yes, they are very noisy as they do their thing. You both were spot on with your assessment of the first time being the longest/toughest. Once it is cleared, maintaining it will be much easier and faster. Maybe twice a year, late Fall and Spring will keep it maintained. The weeds a d brush will take off growing in the Summer but unless you are going for the manicured look, it will wait till the Autumn. Great job! Love the combo of those two attachments!
The flail mower blades are single point mount blades that are designed to hit an object and not damage the mower. Think of them as swinging blade.
Yes for clean up I love to see progress!
Good combination you are using and being careful about what you are running over helps too. Get some spare sheer pins and blades and oil for the brush cutter, so if you hit something and the pin breaks or blade gets bent it's a simple task. Will get easier after you've done the first cut through the unknown areas.
Love watching all what you two do. Keep it coming, you inspire me
Yes, do clean-up videos. Love the before and afters :-D
Time-Lapse videos of the clean up would be fantastic
Noted!
I’m in the any content is good content, but it is great watching you both tackle the everyday.
Love your videos, clean-up included! Yes, please!
We have a Quick hitch on our tractor, it does make things difficult at the start but once you get the implements set up for it it makes a lot easier. only one implement I have that will not work is the 8 inch auger which requires removing the top link as the frame mounts in its place.
Its not used that much. But you will come to find hook up is easier.
*Awesome attachments for the tractor to help you both, clean up your property. 🙂nz*
Yes please more tractor clean up .thank you God Bless
Yes! Show the cleanup.
I think you should fly a drone up (high enough) to take a photo of your property, so people can get an overall view of how much work needs to be done or have done.
great channel you two have so much love .. so nice to see .. can't wait for the pool
That's a great machine.
Would love to see a video on clearing
About to approach a similar project so I'd be ver interested in seeing the whole process.
I really like a good clean up video ❤
Looking great you guys are doing an amazing job. Keep up the great job
I like your big boy toys!!! Doing a great job!!
Thank you 🤗
Looking good
We have 5 1/2 acres and it is lots of work to maintain but I love it, even at 60, I still enjoy the hard work. Do the clean videos, there are lots of people who enjoy that content, it is what lead me to watching TH-cam videos when I was trying to decide on my tractor purchase, and Molly don't stand behind that brush hog
Good stuff guys!
Put the landshark on front in the side position and you'll mow twice as much
Yes on the property clean up! Would be enjoyable on our end watching. Not so much on your end doing all the work. Wish I could be there to help.
Keep it up you two. Lord Bless
Haha Thank you!
Cleanup videos are fun! Shows equipment capabilities and before/after progress! Please research proper PPE for a cab-less tractor! 👍👏❤😍🥰🚜
Good to see this, Will take a lot of work to take it from Brush to groom flat lawn look./
ya you do that we will watch and ya its a lot to cutting lot brush and grass and having a bush hog is good thing
keep it coming. looking goog.
Clean up video would be cool
Yes to cleanup content.
I will watch whatever you guys release and yes show the cleanup
❤️
Go for it.
You should look into Pats Quick attach hooks rather then the quick hitch you got
You will like the quick hitch, Cat 1 has a standard dimension which most implements use. The brush hog will have rating for the size of brush it is capable of cutting.
YES Do the clean up series
Love y'all and your relationship! So encouraging to see a young couple working together to make a future. I would recommend returning the quick hitch and getting a Pat's quick hitch. I saw it on this link from Tractor Mike( th-cam.com/video/6Rsdr-wz4f4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xzo53uDDU1AFFrWc ). The land pride quick hitch I got with my Kubota 5 years ago made the pto attachment difficult and crowded. The Pat's system is so much easier and versatile. I used the quick hitch on my landscape rake to add down weight!! Keep up the good work!!
Yes! my OCD would like to see it cleaned up. Thanks!
😊
Cleaner is always better… especially with lil man making his broadcast debut before too long… Want any potential sneaky critters to be much easier to spot out on the property! 🐍🐀🦊
Yes, bush hogs do make a racket sometimes but you'll get used to it. They can handle more than you think but having less blades and being larger blades, they like to complain. You can easily handle 2-4 inch saplings. Also, get an extra shear bolt for the PTO connection because, well, stuff happens. Wish my tractor had front hydraulics, I'd love to use a lane shark to clear wood line on my 20 acres!
For that three point quick hitch, can you use a pin with a cotter pin instead of the botls at the top? If you still had to move it, with the pins it would be easier.
Yay! Able to catch the premier 😍
Awesome! Thank You:)
Dylan: "I know where everything is"
Molly: That's a lie."
I choose to put the most salacious subtext possible on that exchange...
YUP do the cleanup
I'll watch the cleanup if you do it in your birthday suit 😂
By the way Brush hogs are noisy you will get used to the sounds and when it quits making sounds while cutting you most likely have sheared a pin. keep several for those times trust me if you cut long enough you will shear a pin. Only thing that stopped mine was running into a pile of steel which required a cutting torch to remove it, no damage to mower just a shear pin and back in business..
I would watch that 🤓
Molly NEVER stand behind the brushhog, it throws stuff out and could hit you. Might want to look into getting a chain guard for the back of the brush hog.
That’s why I switched to the drone☺️
@@Woodbrew Ok Just don't want anything happening to you or Dylan, life is a learning curve sometimes with severe consequences, just sharing from past experiences so you don't have to 😀
Just came across yalls videos and really enjoying them. Im from Fairhope and run a forestry mulcher in the area if yall ever need any help.
That’s awesome👍🏻 That would make quick work of things and a cool video!
Be sure to keep up with transmission oil and at least daily greasing. You had a great idea with land shark clearing obstructions and obstacles. This aggressive clearing will remove most of your sneaky snake's homes. 🐍
Just curious, how many of the poisonous snakes slither around your property? By keeping the brush down you can see them better and in my opinion a poisonous snake is only good if it is dead!! I feel for Molly being pregnant during these hot, very humid months! My wife and I moved to Northwest Arkansas to live with our daughter and her beautiful family in Springdale. I'm not a big fan of the humidity but it is nice seeing the sun more often than we had in the Puget Sound in Washington. I do miss our 5 acres of cedars, alder and doug fir and a whole lot of underbrush.!! Stay safe and enjoy the journey you are about to experience with the arrival of that little man! A friend from afar. D
00:17 This the first actual proof I have seen that Dylan has hair.
Do the series
Also, you should consider a flail mower. Either rent one or buy one. I think it’ll be a little more efficient for clearing
Do you need to maintain any habitat for wildlife?
I prefer a flail mower over the rotary cutters on the rear. My usual setup is flail mower on the back and laneshark on the front. Laneshark knocks things down and flail mower just chips everything up to 2 inches or something, although Ive gone larger than that. Thats just with a similar size tractor to yours. We have a larger tractor and flail that will do up to 3.5 inches.
that sounds like a great setup! We may go the flail mower route eventually too.
Are you allowed to have a burn pile to get rid of a lot of the brush piles?
Yes, but not until November😩We have a burn ban during the summer
Curious why you’re wearing a Totalboat shirt.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍👍👍👍👍🫵2🪨
The bush hog is made for brush turn up the rpms and go it don’t be a pancy
😅 It says max diameter 2" so trying not to break it on the first day. Generally it takes one day for me to disregard these warnings and then send it😅
Wait - Dylan makes his pregnant wife mow the lawn? Is chivalry dead? 😎
Makes😂 I Love cutting the grass and she gets mad if I don't let her do it😅
@@Woodbrew "If you don't let her" ?? Yikes!
It would be nice, but I can't afford our fixed prices. I'm on a fixed income disability and all that thank you anyway
The answer to "where should I be" is: not where you were! A bushhog can throw things at high speed for quite a distance. We're talking fatal. Yours seems to be open at the bottom back, so thats where it would come out and that's where you were standing. If you want to record bushhogging, use the drone.
lol it was 90% drone shots you saw.
@@Woodbrew GOOD! Safety first future mama!
@@WoodbrewThe editing and camera work is always top notch in your videos. It’s so enjoyable to watch you guys develop new ideas and methods as time goes by.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Eventually you're going to get to the point where you'll be maintaining it... instead of cleaning it up.
What do you do if you’re swallowed by an elephant? Run around until you’re pooped out.
I'm not familiar with your geography so I'm curious about why you feel you need to clear growth and cut trees so much? What we're seeing more and more where I live, rather than manicured sterile grass, is preservation of habitat for critters. Cut/maintained trails through the property would be awesome for walking, etc but clear cutting for the sake of clear cutting seems old school and a waste of a lot of things - fuel, time, habitat, wear and tear on machinery, etc. Just wondering, I'm sure you have your reasons.
They dont clear the grass at the campsites up the mountian, they are basically over run with mosquitoes and rats. There is no "clearing to clear" lets be real people.
Brah, fixing your own iPhone? Hope the DOJ doesn't see this video.
Yes, I'm being extremely nosey and probably rude. What do yall do? You're so young.
