  • Our back patio area is getting a makeover, again! We are installing a small Intex above-ground pool and are planning to turn it into our budget summer oasis, which is on Molly's top prenatal care wishlist. In this video, we demo the old layout, prep the ground for the pool base and start setting up our new Intex Pool. Soon we will have an entire wood surround, concrete pavers, and an outdoor shower!

    The key to pool maintenance is Saltwater. Use a saltwater generator to chlorinate the pool. Sooooo much easier. Also a sand filter not that cartridge system. That size pool you would need about 80lbs of pool salt and the Intex Chlorine generator. Look into it, so much easier to keep clean and water crystal clear.

      Totally go with salt if you can. Hotels & resorts use salt so it does the job. Plus it doesn’t wreck your hair like chlorine can 🙂

    Easiest way to do that kind of staining is to buy a cheap pump up garden spayer - put the stain in - pump it up and Bob's your uncle. They're cheap enough to you don't even have to clean the up after you done. Just throw them away . . .

  • @flybywire5866
    @flybywire5866 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    We also have this kind of pool. We were thinking about getting a pool, and I first thought about something really solid, rather big, with stairs into the pool, with a roof on top. I found a website with a configurator and ended up with a price tag of 30000+€😑
    So we got this type of pool. Much cheaper, but does the job. If it lasts five years, then it really wasn't expensive. I got a pool cleaning robot, very convenient. The robot is just dropped in the pool, and runs for about an hour. If the battery is drained, it stops at a wall for easy pickup.

    Draining & Heating A Pool: I had an in-ground pool to empty out for repairs and paint, and later to heat up quickly for a child's 4th birthday party. I bought a submersible pump from Harbor Freight and ran garden hose from it out away from the house. After completing the repair and painting, I filled the pool and needed to heat it faster than just waiting on the Sun. I bought a roll of black plastic irrigation tubing. With the pump at the deep point of the pool and the tubing laid out around the concrete pool deck, I started the water recirculating five days before the party. That deep pool (9 feet at the deep end) was quite comfortably warm the morning of the party and all I had to do was remove the pump, coil up the tubing and put it all away. Total cost was under $75 in 2004.

  • @user-ni3me9dg3g
    @user-ni3me9dg3g 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Pure physics. 1) The depth of the pool isn't much so the pressure is low. 2) The hose is small diameter and long. Both cause resistance to flow. Combine low pressure with high resistance and you get a LONG time for the water to just trickle out.

    I have a silly question did you contact your water department with your meter reading and tell them you were filling a pool because usually they charge you for sewage as well as your water usage at the same time and they’ll deduct sewage from your water the total for the time that you’re filling your pool so it’s a discount at least most of the country does that I don’t know about your area but most of the country lol

      Yeah, intex makes one that hooked right up. It was about $150 a few years go. I found it on Amazon… so… affiliate link for you. 😂 I think they said it produces chlorine at about 1/6 the concentration of the chlorine that you would have by adding and balancing the chemicals. The machine handles all that and tells you if your salt level is right. It goes inline between the filter and the pool.
      Also congrats on the coming family.
      I’ve enjoyed your channel for some time. I think I got hooked on the CNC teardrop. Also, I love the style of your house, and you two have done amazing aesthetic improvements. You really have an eye for the vision and design.
