It is , I have a sport hatch 2020 automatic and I get most of the power out of it in manual with the paddle shifters. When I just slowly press the gas in gear one the turbo kicks in strong by itself around those RPMs so now I just punch it right there. Best feeling ever.
on your pull off sounds like you are just letting go off your clutch hence the bogging down... also in first let your car gain momentum should be banging off the rev limiter then change gear....then you know your driving a honda!
it all depends on your grip and track conditions that day. There is no set launch RPM for every launch. You have to play with clutch, gas, and grip simultaneously.

I launched 2,000. I researched that closer to 2,500 is better and less bog. Maybe I should try that next.
