  • This 4cyl 1.5t engine that Honda produced is fantastic for a commute to work or a fun day at the track. Being so diverse, we've noticed a lot of people wanting to upgrade their 10th Gen Honda Civic Si without having to commit to turbo upgrades, built motors, and other stresses that can take the driveability out of a daily driver.
    You guys said you wanted more 10th Gen Honda Civic Si content and we're bringing it. In this video, Daelen goes over the parts you need to get your Civic Si up to 290HP.

    If you guys are worreid about reliability. My old SI had a MAperformance Intake, Downpipe, Hasport Motor Mount Aquity Shoft adapter, bushings, spring. Tuned by pherable. no issues, and I had a Ktuner basemap tune since 11k miles. At 16k miles I changed to the MAP Tune, and then went to Pherable at about 30k miles until 62k miles where I sold it. I Didn't drive it hard normally, but would always do a pull or two per drive, and I did race it quite a bit all the way to redline. Oil changes every 3-5k miles, Tran Fluid replacement every 25k miles, Sparkplugs at 50k. Did everything myself, and it's definetly a great platform to start your car Journey. Have a type R currently, but will be trading it in for a Supra as soon as a manual option is available.

      My 10th gen has also been tuned for like 2 years now actually running e85, no issues at all. I don’t beat on it that much anymore, BUT…. When it was first tuned. Yeah I was doing pulls quite a bit. Now I do one yeah maybe once or twice every drive. Little pulls though nothing to redline these days. I don’t feel there is a need to hit red line

Just received the ACT clutch and once I feel like it having it installed. Currently with my bolt ons and the phearble tune it slips. My clutch be better soon once it installed and able to hold the 25 psi can’t wait to see how it does. 250 plus hp I be happy to see :) got all my items from you guys been a great journey. May even get the race tune from phearable once I have a clutch that can hold it. Gonna be a fun 2022

    I have a 2018 Si coupe that's full bolt on with Maperformance exhaust from the turbo back & Maperformance CAI. it has a Mishimoto intercooler + charge pipe. The tune is a +9 on hondata & was tuned by Alex Pagan from Humble performance in Tulsa. My car started out at 177hp at the wheels & 204lb ft of torque. After the tuning process its now sitting at 231hp & 266 torque @ the wheels. My power doesn't really flex its muscles until the midrange. Its safer that way. Easier on the stock internals. The LSD is at it's limits also. Starting to feel minor torque steer. Love the way my Maperformance exhaust sounds. Its a exhaust note symphony 🎶🎵🎼

    The factory intake is not that restrictive. The tiny turbo is restrictive.

    I want to mod my Civic Si so bad! Do you think an amateur can safely do all of the mentioned mods with just some tools and a jack? Thinking Intercooler w/ charge pipes, CAI, Tuner, Exhaust. Think I can do that with a few friends and tools and a flat driveway? When do you recommend paying the extra for a shop to do it?

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's certainly doable yourself, but don't do anything you're not comfortable doing! There is a HUGE 10th gen community that can answer all your questions about the process. It may not be easy or quick for you, but you will develop a relationship with the car more than if you just payed a shop to install your parts! I like to go by the saying, "You can do it yourself wrong 3 times before it's worth it to pay a shop."

      @@maperformance Thanks so much for the reply. You guys are awesome! I'm scared but I'm ready to dive in and take the risk. Do you think I should immediately pay a shop to install a clutch before I do everything else? Or just install and replace the clutch when needed? I've heard some people have better luck than others

    I've been in the market for a 2018 Honda Civic si and was wondering what type of fuel you put in it. I know the owner's manual states that the car should receive premium, but can it take regular? Furthermore, I think the car has a knock sensor that changes the ignition timing caused by the difference in the fuel quality. Still, I would like to eliminate knocking altogether to preserve the engine while still saving money.

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  ปีที่แล้ว

      We would not put anything other than factory-recommended fuel into the car (assuming it's stock). Paying the extra dollars at the pump is still cheaper than buying a whole new engine...

    Any idea how the aftermarket intercoolers hold colder temps on road courses for weekend track events?, I've heard in order to keep the heat soak out, you have to mod for an open front bumper even with a better intercooler so the radiator can do its job as well since the bigger intercooler ends up blocking the airflow

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It shouldn't be much of an issue for most people on the track, and not worth hacking up your bumper for potentially ineffective cooling.

    The thing is tho.. will the down pipe make me pass my emissions inspections? Idk. I hear even a catted version still has a chance to fail u
    I can't bother with the headache of swapping every time I have to do inspection

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emissions testing can vary greatly state to state, and even inspection site to inspection site. Generally as long as the downpipe is catted you should be fine, but there is no guarantee unfortunately.

      I installed PRL Gesi sport catted DP, it costs around $900 but so far at almost 2k miles no emissions light yet. Safe to say that it will pass emissions if required by your State.

    When i first got my 17 si i did a k tuner stage 2 it did ok then put a flashpro +9 , it felt faster with the hondata flash then put a cai with the race maf, when it got into 70s or colder clutch would slip... i stayed next to a g37 up 130, beat a type r from 40-50 up to about 120, destroyed a Audi S4 and numerous cars, only one car i could not catch one time was a bolt on v6 eclipse lol i was shocked....All races in Mexico ofcourse. Now i returned the car back to bone stock for daily and still fun to drive. Even gapped a rt charger in stock form. But yea first mod i recommend is the clutch!
