Thanks for the video bro. My wife's car g35 started squealing bad at start up. I replaced both pulleys, alternator, fan housing with pulley, now only thing left is power steering with pulley
My daughter had the catalytic converter replaced this weekend in her 02 i35 and now it’s struggling to start every time . Smh but the power steering pump is next tomorrow.
Hey mils when I turn on my car let it run for about 2 to 3 mins when I drive off it makes a whirring noise at the power steering u think I need a new pump?
Does your PS work? It might be that one of the pulleys are going bad.. It could also be that the belt is going bad.. i recommend having someone start up the car for you while you can listen and watch what's going on in the bay
My 2006 M35X makes a long embarrassing SCREECHING sound. I change the serpentine belts and the screeching remains. I’m gonna try this next. Thanks guys
So I have an infinity g35 and I was driving on the highway and my steering wheel started feeling stiff there’s still fluid in the reservoir should I replace my power steering pump?
Not sure, there are a lot of variables involved. We have another episode you might want to watch to help diagnose the situation 👉 Hard To Turn Steering? [How to Diagnose Lower Universal Joint (U-Joint) // G35 Build] th-cam.com/video/_gSfEvCRRzM/w-d-xo.html
hey guys not sure if i need to replace my power steering pump or not but every time i start my car for 3-15 seconds i have a loud squeal like you guys said in the beginning is that what you guys were experiencing as well??
i didn't have any power steering at all, and went through all the cheapest possible routes to fix it.. It could be your serpentine belt. Here are some other videos that may help you: How to Change Engine Belts [Serpentine Belt] (w/Pro Tips): th-cam.com/video/_yinedYRU8g/w-d-xo.html Hard To Turn Steering?: th-cam.com/video/_gSfEvCRRzM/w-d-xo.html
Frriends.. a Lot of greetings yesterday i turned on the mazda and work well it is not long for me to pull fire.. 380hp. MANY GREETINGS AND WE MISS YOU👌👍👍👍
I saw when you took out the pump and the. Install the same one you wrote a note “installe New [REBUILT] PS pump “ what did you do if you rebuilt it ? And is it always possible to rebuilt if you can or buy a new one.
Yeah, i rebuilt the other one with a rebuild kit from RockAuto. If the pump has failed recently, it most likely just has a broken o-ring inside it, and so you can disassemble it, replace the rings, reassemble.. Sometimes the pumps can't be restored to work if the veins of the pump have been worn wider by metal shavings
how long did it take I have a m35 and the pump or something is leaking onto the alternator at night I have to stuff a towel in between,I think that's what fkd up the old alternator I just bought it from my neighbor her mechanic missed it and still charged her $700 that didn't solve the problem I found it when I took the alternator out it leaks about a ounce or 2 overnight, thanks I just started to watch clips because I've never dealt with power steering issues
I wonder if this is same as the 07 g35 sedan, just got my power steering pump leaking, its so hard to turn the steering! Currently on the process of buying the pump. I wonder if you have to take anything else below by the pump like alternator?
Hey buddy, interesting name. i was gonna name this G 'Carnage,' but then i looked up the dictionary meaning of carnage and decided to go with a Hayai reborn theme. The process should be exactly the same on the sedan... So i was going to take this G to get it inspected.. Turns out the ps pump isn't working how it should. It works just fine when i am in high rpm, but not when at low rpm. In my case, i will have to change the clock spring too [it has the angle sensor]. Yours is leaking, so i imagine that's exactly what's failing, but i just want you to know it can be caused by either the ps pump itself, or the clock spring too
@@milsgarage haha thanks! So that's exactly it! Low RPM is very difficult to turn while the car is moving it's normal as is, but with little bit of whining noise at the steering wheel. I just had my G checked out, and it turns out to be the pump thats leaking, little by little and not a whole lot though. Is your G consuming alot of oil? I wonder if the leak could cost some kind of oil consumption to the car. My gas bill is going for 120 in 2 weeks 15 miles every day. Crazy...
Hmmm well if the pump's front pulley seal is leaking, it might as well be rebuilt or replaced, but yeah, it might need the clock spring too. We have that how to episode here --> [ th-cam.com/video/899N0siOE0k/w-d-xo.html ]. Oil consumption? i'll have to let you know in a month or two.. well.. after i [finally] get it registered and drive it a lil. i don't think it should affect oil or gas consumption.. Have you tried changing your PCV valve yet? Those things cost like $4.23 from RockAuto and are the first thing i'd ever change out if i thought a car had an oil consumption problem
@@milsgarage I'll look it down again to see for anything else. So far the PS pump is the problem, I might have to put more ps fluid too. No I haven't change PCV valve yet, I'll do sometime next-next week. Thanks, I will check RockAuto!
Where do you guys think is the best place to buy g35 parts? like lower balljoints, oil pan gasket and all those small miscellaneous items. Thank you and great video.
Thanks Jorge! There's always a couple people waiting to tell me RockAuto is bad or something, but i get most of my standard OEM replacement parts and gaskets from them, and they've been really great to me so far. i just recently had to learn a whole lot about bolts and thread sizes, and i'm getting all of my bolts from Fastenal.. i get fastener tabs [the expensive way apparently] from Advanced Auto and the other local shops. Anything i can't find at those locations, i usually find a decent brand that will meet the needs
Mils Garage Thank you for the info, and for the plastic fasteners that are all over the car i always get them on ebay for about $5 for 100 pieces and they work great
hey with the banjo bolt copper washer what size mm are they i need to know ASAP thanks i have 06 infinti m35x trying to replace my pump...is it 24mm copper washer or 10mm?? NEW SUB ALSO
Welcome to the channel! i just went out and measured one.. They're 22mm overall diameter with a 4mm width. i've been getting them from the local pep boys, but it's super annoying how they only sell assortments [ con men ]. i'm still searching for a better source, but so far i can't seem to get the measurements correct on wholesale ordering forms 🤦♂️
Turn the wheel lock to lock by hand when the system is bleeding, and that will pump out the leftover fluid. When filling, i turned the steering wheel from lock to lock a whole bunch of times, then i turned at almost lock to lock a bunch more times until it stopped making a swishing sound for both sides. The whole time, i was topping off the reservoir
@TOTIYO TIJUANA Thanks! Just trying to get as clean as your Protege 👍👍. Ryan and i will be working on the WRX today. We're gonna start going crazy on the cars lol, and the G will be [hopefully] passing inspections on Monday :D
