FX 45 2005 V8 just started being real hard to turn the steering wheel. The fluid is a little dirty but full, not seeming to be leaking. Is there a way to know if it’s the pump that’s the problem? What else could it be. (I’ll check fuses first off.)
Just did mine yesterday. No, you don't have to remove the pulley. You can go through it to get to the 3 bolts. I personally found it easier to just undue the the single bolt for the pump bracket and long bottom bolt that runs through the pump, then an impact to remove the remaining 2 bolts through the pulley.
spray degreaser on it and clean it off..they put a flashlight as its running to see if its leaking. You may need someone to turn the wheel tp build up pressure
I.C. Customs, Thank you so much for the video. One question please. Please tell me where the power steering pressure sensor is located? After replacing the alternator on my 2005 fx35 I now have a connector hanging down with no home
I'm having the damndest time trying to align that 14mm bolt to install the new pump, it seems like you were having a tough time as well, at least for a little while, then that part of the video was brief or skipped. I think you had the two bracket bolts off the pump when you aligned it, did that help? It fits in there so tightly.
I disagree, video was very straight forward and to the point, very self-explanatory. but you are also entitled to your wrongful opinion so :D whatever makes you sleep at night
Thanks for putting up the video need to change out the power steering pump on my dads 2006 Infiniti fx35
Why do you need to change it out?
Thanks I. C. Customs for the very helpful video.
Thank you! Good solid reliable info 💯
You welcome
Just the video I was looking for! thank you!!
If this pump is leaking and i keep adding fluid , does it affect the alternator fonction in FX35?? kindly advise
Yes if it's leaking on top of the alternator it can cause it to short or not charge properly.

If I replaced my power steering pump and it’s still stiff to turn what should I look at next?
Rack and pinion
I have a power steering leak on my 2010 FX35 but cant tell if its the Pump or the Hoses.

Did you change cause the pump went out? Mine make a whine nose when in park I wonder is it the pump or pulley?
It was hard to turn. If its whining it could be low got air in it..
I have a 2003 infiniti fx35 is my power steering pump in the same place as the 2005?
Should be
