In this case, we can argue they have a choice on which side to fight for. I believe it should be more weighted towards the Lion side, as it would be extremely funny for the lions to have Champions. Litleo, Pyroar, Shinx, Luxio, Luxray, Entei and Solgaleo would all have the choice of fighting for the Lions or for the Pokémon. Would Dusk Mane Necrozma technically be a lion?
"we're taking into account everything the pokemon has" *bases almost the entire tier list on hight and weight which is often times irrelevant to the Pokémon's actual strength*
fr, i can't beleive they even brought up height and weight, these aren't animals, these are superpowered pokemon. there is more power in the body of a machop than there is in 10 lions, it'd literally punch their bodies into red jelly.
Unlike in Pokémon Battles, Height and Weight actually matters in the real world and in a fight. There is a reason why boxers don't fight out of their weight class.
@@EvBinNZ Pokémon can survive attacks that are way worse than a weight and height of a lion, so no, it doesn't matter. Realistically, a lion shouldn't be able to hurt a Pokémon with what they can endure.

Gengar can hide in an opponents shadow and attack and curse them without being detected. It could literally remain entirely undetected to the lions the entire time.
It also levitates. Like, passively. As in it doesn't ever have to be in melee range. Could literally just spam ranged attacks and wipe the entire species out.
@@blahara yeah this is the argument i was gonna make. if you're a pokemon that learns Levitate as a passive ability and also learns ranged attacks there is no way the lions are beating you - like Magneton, just hover out of reach of the lions and take a nap whenever you need it while electrocuting the lions any other time, since Levitate is an ability presumably you still hover while you're resting
and lions are normal type, meaning that most of their 'attacks' like scratch, slash etc then it does not affect all, bite might work if we use gen 2 logic, but gen 1 logic no, never gengar wins@@liammccoy385
@@liammccoy385 I'm on the side of the Pokemon, it's clear that they win. But if a lion defender ever heard of (your) this argument, they'd just say "lion ladder" fully believing that the lions could do a literally scientifically and physically impossible thing.

Did you just realise that pokemon are fictional? This is all in theory and is never going to happen, I thought you realise that like... everyone? PS. Additionaly, if we want to be technical, lions would need to do some coding rather than using an erasers. Pokemon you are talking about are in a game, not on a drawing.
Technically nothing. Journeys Mew has existed since the dawn of Time Space and can freely transform into multiple Pokémon at once (Groudon and Kyogre) before fusing back together. Not to mention it can freely use any move in its base form, so it definitively clears a billion lions.
Nothing but then it's boring because you don't answer how Mew does. You slap a note on it telling the viewer to just copy what the strongest pokemon on the list does. It's more interesting to imagine what Mew does
Now hold on, bite was originally a normal type move, meaning the simple act of sinking teeth into flesh isn't what hurts ghosts, it's the dark type energy that's imbued into the bite technique.
The Dark type is basically just the embodiment of “evil” or “bad”. I think a lion with murderous intent qualifies in the Pokémon universe (also, you need to balance ghost types in one way or another)
@@CoolLlamaGD Balance ghost just to give Lions a shot lmao nah Bites from a lion are still normal, they don't have dark energy, they can be as evil as they want they aren't touching a damn ghost type lmao
@@TheDarkMewtwo996but if you say they don't have energy. They don't have Normal energy either. Normal moves still use PP. it's still channelling an energy to do those things. Struggle, a typeless, primal move, is the only move all species can use even if they have no special energy left. Meaning a Lion either is typeless, and can hit ghosts. Or they are Normal Type and thus possess the necessary Pokemon Energy that is required to use Bite as a dark move
Ok all these comments aside, people seem to forget Bite is a 60 BP move... Even a Crunch isn't guaranteed to oh'ko a Beefy Gengar, like I agree with the argument of Lions having Bite, but don't agree with the idea that it means they no diff all Ghost Types... Also you must use this logic both ways, if you say their Claws are considered Normal and thus can't hit Ghosts, then any Steel or Rock Type bigger than a Lion's Mouth can heavily resist any claw attack the Lion(s) put up against it... Then for the sake of argument do we want to say that makes all Lions Normal Type? Cause then they are EXTRA BONED against any Fighting Type, like Machamp's 1,000 Bullet like Punches are Super Effective nuking Lions for hundreds of miles.
Yeah, they're using height and especially weight a lot. Machop could throw 100 or so humans at once and physically is about as tall and weighs as much as a child.
Its because they didn't explain their criteria well enough, but it seems they don't count flamethrower from Charmander on the same level as a stronger fire type. So while yes its a strong move, they also require the pokemon to be strong for it to reach that level. They use the height and weights for those they consider to have weaker overall magical ability. So Strong pokemon is more important than a strong move, but it does play a part. Same how earthquake from Diglett would be no where as strong as earthquake from Groudon.
I think every Pokémon that can naturally poison draws by default, as it poisons one lion and that lion kills it and then dies. So Bulbasaur and other “lion food” poisoners could be moved up there at least, compared to a Rattata or Pidgey that gets killed in one swipe and does nothing. Fire types were also being highly undersold here. Not only does giving a lion an 3rd or 4th degree burn cause at least a draw, but even the weaker Fire mons are killing a few just with ranged fire attacks. At most charitable to the lions, a Charmander would melt one lion before getting instantly killed by another

Charizard would easily make them go extinct. Since heights and weights are referenced so frequently, we can use real world logic. Charizard would fly into the air and shoot off a few flamethrowers, and the entirety of the battlefield would burn, since they're likely in the African savannah. In addition, according to its pokemon stadium dex entry, Charizard can quickly melt a glacier weighing 10,000 tons, and R/B say it accidentally causes forest fires regularly, so his fire is so hot it will spread and burn ANYTHING it touches.
@theamazingspooderman2697 Ash also holds cosmoem (2200 pounds) in his hand casually, and charizard definitely never hit ash with full force. Plus, ash literally HAD charizard use flamethrower to melt the battlefield when he battled Gary, so his flames were melting solid rock.
I would argue normal Mewtwo and Mew can beat a billion. There's nothing to suggest the lions could even touch Mewtwo. And Mew is not only capable of transforming into any Pokemon, they can split into TWO Pokemon at once (In Pokemon Journeys it turned into both Groudon and Kyogre). Literally from this list alone, Mew could turn into 2 Galarian Moltres or Machamp and steamroll everything.
its INSANE that the pre evos of the starters got put in lion food. what lion is surving an ember, much less a FLAMETHROWER?! i dont care how much charmander weights or how tall it is, IT SHOOTS FIRE YOU DINGUSES. charmeleon is also just that BUT STRONGER wartortle and squirtle could EASILY draw with lions, if not outright kill a few thanks to moves like withdraw and firing pumps of water guns from within their shells. these aren't real world turtles, these are super natural super powered pokemon, i dont think a lion's bite could even crack a squirtle shell, much less leave so much as a scratch on a blastoise shell. like, think about this for two seconds guys, if blastoise can shoot jets of water that puncture steel, and its attacks do almost nothing to another blastoise, or even a wartortle, what does that say for how durable those pokemon are?
and dont even get me started on the bulbasaur line getting punked that badly, poison powder ALONE bare minimum lets them always ensure a draw with lions. but VENUSAUR?! it's tanky enough to take any number of lions dogpiling it, and powerful enough to fire a FUCKING LASER BEAM OF ENERGY. it would literally kill thousands of lions with one solar beam, they'd be *vaporized* you think a hydro pump from blastoise churns through lions because it cuts steel? how about a literal ENERGY BLAST.
I'm 15 minutes in and I just wanna say alot of these "lion food" mons is "would draw" just because of status. Like yes if a charmander used flamethrower on a single lion the lion would kill the charmander before it dies but the lion would burn to death aswell therefore ending in a draw. Same goes for poison on the grass types and bugs (poison point weedle slays atleast one lion). Also Pidgeot got done dirty, I bet it could kill a pride of lions using Whirlwind sending them into the air or something but 1v1 against a lion its definetly winning. Why do i care so much about this? Idk.
Flamethrower doesn't always burn, also a 10 yr old can survive a Flamethrower (before you say "oh it means humans are more durable there" but no it means the fire ain't as strong and is inconsistent)

It only needs to go into cyberspace to recharge it's moves and maybe hp, it can fly indefinitely too. It will take time but it can take on that many lions, it's main drawback it's it's power not being that high and it can be overwhelmed by millions of lions and spending too much time on cyberspace could be a draw since it's not engaging. Conclusion, definitely kills 30k lions, more it's up to Porygon 2 o Z.
Porygon-Z could solo 1 billion lions Also I think I would put Articuno in extinction too because lions arent adapted to Live in cold places. All Articuno needs to do is to take flight and it will start to snow, slowly killing them all.
I feel like weight doesn't really matter that much when the pokemon can literally do magic. Like I don't care how much stronger a lion is then a charmander, if the charmander just opens with a flamethrower in the general direction then it's going to burn a few of them. Slight argument in favor of the turtles: lions don't seem to have enough bite force to break normal turtle shells, and the Squirtle line is reinforced with metal. I think Squirtle retreats into its shell and then either dehydrates or starves, depending on whether it has an infinite source of water. That doesn't count as a draw, but it would waste a good bit of the lions' time.
@LordJanenmba In the games yes, but ditto can transform into anything including humans. Game logic doesn't equate perfectly to a real life battle scenario. Otherwise it would also be a turn based battle vs the lions which wouldn't happen realistically
ditto is shown needing an example to transform into, so since it's alone it could only transform into a lion or an object in the environment. However Mew, being able to transform into anything save for Arceus (we even see it being Groudon and Kyogre at the same time) would be boring. You can easily slap on a label as it is a 1:1 copy of the strongest mon on the list. It's much more interesting to imagine what it would do with it's own power
Lions also weigh more than humans yet lose to humans all the time because battle considers factors like capabilities and utility (aka guns/intelligence in the case of humans or moves/abilities in the case of pokemon)

Not really a big fan of lions using BITE on ghost types, there's a difference between the move bite and the act of biting. The move bite has elemental properties, lions are not capable of elemental properties. Think about it l, just because you give a pokemon food and it bites it, it doesn't mean it knows the move bite
I think the difference there would be that since Dark type is originally the Evil type, Bite gains its type from the malicious intent to wound with an underhanded and brutal tactic like biting
“Freely controls lightning bolts” dawg you know a single lightning bolt can kill like 5 lions close together, Zapdos is extinction at least and if we consider he can do however many he wants he might as well kill a 100000. I don’t think a billion because he will get tired, but the jump from 30k to a billion is a bit big without a tier in the middle
Nah I think Zapdos is straight up 1 billion tier. Zapdos will get tired of course however a lion biting or scatching Zapdos ain’t doing anything. Actually, a lion biting Zapdos will literally hurt itself more than it does to Zapdos. Considering how powerful Pokemon moves are, even a lion biting a Bulbasaur ain’t gonna do much. And we know legendaries being far more powerful are also far more durable. Even if Zapdos decides to sleep on the ground, multiple lions attempting to attack it at that point will literally hurt themselves rather than Zapdos. And once Zapdos gets back up after resting, bye bye rest of lions and rinse and repeat.
Just so the later ones come out better quality i think some people put a bit too much emphasis on weight. Some of the mons with small footprints could fire off long range attacks that would definitely obliterate a lion at least once. The mons from later regions even more so. Maybe everyone could have a move set page up like pokemondb or something next time so they can get a better idea quicker and reduce yap. And it seems a lot of really interesting pokemon to discuss are getting shoved into the NA tier. Love the concept and I know a lot of us really want to see more generations covered.
Now hold on, machop can take at least three, dude can shatter rocks with a single punch, can suplex opponents way in the air and can go decently fast, if it can duck and weave, and get a few low kicks in there may be a quite a few faceplanted and crippled lions
I can make an argument mew being in a billion tier; 1. mew use stone edge to trap the lions 2. mew spam draco meteor until all are dead 3. if mew gets tired then he just recover or refresh
Mew also has Transform, meaning it can turn into the Pokémon with the highest possible lion kill count. It is also capable of using EVERY move, meaning other Legendaries moves are on the table. Not to mention, Mew doesn’t need to be looking at the Pokémon to turn into it, as in Journeys, it became both a Groudon and a Kyogre AT THE SAME TIME! I cannot stress this enough, Journeys Mew has existed since the dawn of time space and can split itself into multiple Pokémon while battling. Mew clears a billion lions.
Bulbasaur (and most grass type pokemon) can cut trees with its leaf from range so it can maybe get 1 for 1 (assuming it out speeds a lion to get that 1 hit) while flame and other stuff like trying to freeze them will struggle with needing a long time to kill and will be a question is the extreme it is is it instant sub zero/insane levels of heat to kill before they get close
Bulbasaur easily defeats multiple lions on its own. A bite from a lion ain’t gonna do much to it when considering how powerful Pokemon attacks are. Oh and any offensive move Bulbasaur uses on a lion will one shot a lion. Pokemon moves are so powerful that something like a tackle from a caterpie would be like getting hit by a car.
A few complaints here Bulbasaur could just grab a lion with vine whip, it’s picked up much heavier things in the anime and I don’t see how a lion can do much about that. It would win a lone lion in a fight Ivysaur and Venusaur, it’s same thing but Venusaur could probably pick up a lion in each vinewhip and use those lions to hit other lions. Ivysaur could beat a few and Venusaur beat a pride. Charmander can just spray its flamethrower everywhere. A few lion. Its evolution is the same. Charizard can just breathe fire everywhere, it is physically stronger than a lion and it can fly. Lions can’t do shiz, it would make lions go extinct AT THE LEAST. and the rest of them I can’t be ask to talk about, point being the lions can’t SOLO a single Pokémon realistically. There is no lion food
I feel like this is gonna need a bit more time in the oven to get better. HOWEVER, it could be worse as a start. The main few problems I have are mentionned in some of the other comments so I won't be beating a dead horse however I'm sure you all will be able to improve for the next time
I think in cases like Diglett/Dugtrio where they can just avoid the lions altogether, we have to imagine the scenario is that the lions are coming to kill all humans and thus each Pokemon has to work together to kill the lions to save humankind. We have to imagine that the Pokemon are all being drafted into the military to stop the lions. So Diglett & Dugtrio aren't just gonna hide and do nothing & betray the humans.
Idk if this video is just an elaborate april fools joke, but if so then alright you got me. But otherwise, everyone's argument's for the pokemon losing or only being able to beat at least 1 is just such poor faith to where the video stopped being fun to watch. You guys would read out a description that outright sounds like it would body the lions (Ex. Charizard, Alakazam, Arcanine, Golem, Machamp) and would low ball it so hard and for some reason put so much stock into weight, as if it matters when most of these mons can shoot elemental beams, fly, or are outright invincible to the lions.

@@sharingansoulreaper Yeah and I understand making some sort of case for the lions just for the sake of conversation, but it shouldn't go to the point where it branches into delusion
Just wanna say for future reference cause i have had this argument before, mimikyu can kill a billion lions because how do lions touch a ghost? And any lion that rips a mimikyu's cloak is dead anyways because mimikyus hunt down the ones who break their disguises. Plus just take off the mimikyu's disguise and all the lions are dead anyways. But this is such a smart idea for a video and it was so funny thanks for making it!
Going by the logic at 54:30 that Bite is a dark-type move and can therefore damage ghosts (which is completely fair, since we're using Pokemon logic), I'm thinking 69-420 tier is the most fair assessment. The thing is, Mimikyu will get killed after a few bites, though let's consider it reveals what's under the disguise before it dies. Even if it reveals its disguise, the Pokedex entries state that only the ones who SEE what's under the cloak are doomed for death. So, the disguise reveal would only curse the Lions who have Mimikyu in their line of sight. If the lions are positioned optimally (a big circle around Mimikyu, with around 5 rows of lions positioned so that they can all see between the gaps, with only a single lion in the center of the circle, attacking Mimikyu), and assuming each lion occupies around 2 meters of the lion circle's circumference (or roughly 0.4 meters, considering the 5 rows), then: (30,000 × 0.4) ÷ (2π × 1000) ≈ a 19km radius, aka, each lion would be 19km away from Mimikyu. If we increase the rows, scatter some lions within the circle, or give the lions the high ground, it seems viable that 30K lions would be able to see Mimikyu remove its disguise, and they would all be cursed and die. But now, let's consider the case for a billion lions. (1,000,000,000 × 0.4) ÷ (2π × 1000) ≈ 63,662km, which is around 5 times the diameter of the Earth. Realistically, it's just not possible to make a billion lions see Mimikyu remove its disguise before it gets chomped to death. And remember, I'm giving Mimikyu the edge by putting it in a situation with optimal conditions, where lots of lions are seeing it and only one is attacking it. If I'm being more fair, the situation would be that a mountain of lions is chomping down at Mimikyu, and only a few dozen, or at most a few hundred, would be able to see it when it removes the disguise-if it even gets the chance, that is. I rest my case for putting Mimikyu in the 69-420 tier.
Idk once it's disguise is removed its would be entirely visible and for the lions to chomp down on it I feel like they would have to see it to know where it is to chomp down on but fair point it's probably more of a tossup to be honest. Mimikyu also is only weak to ghost and steel and immune to dragon, fighting, and normal. The immunities don't really mean much here but thanks to fairy typing dark isn't super effective so I feel like it has a tiny bit better of a chance then you are giving it but still fair point all around.
This is probably the fifth time I’ve posted a similar comment, but here I go again; Lions aren’t Pokémon, they can’t use Pokémon Moves, they don’t have a Type. Since lions don’t have a Type, they are Typeless. Since lions can’t use Moves, their attacks are Typeless. Congrats. They can hit every Type of Pokémon. No Pokémon is immune to their attacks, simply because they don’t follow the logic of Pokémon.
@@NokoTheTaco Assuming all the lions attacks are typeless (like Struggle, in the games), then sure, this works. Though if this logic is applicable to lions, it should be applicable to any other animal, including humans. Then we get into a slippery slope when we consider that human interactions with ghost types in the anime don't follow this "typeless" logic at all, for the most part. There's really a lot of things open to interpretation in this lions vs Pokemon debate. So, I think it's better to present your assumptions and conclusions together, instead of claiming that your assumptions are always true and arguing based on that premise.
@NokoTheTaco I never said the immunity would help the mimikyu though 😀 plus again the lions would already be dead cause mimikyus physical appearance can kill but oki doki
I feel like people underestimate how many lions one billion lions are. That’s 100,000 lions per 1 pokemon. Basically every pokemon loses, the strongest normal ones probably take out a few thousand but like. 100,000 at once? Almost every pokemon loses.
And yeah absolutely not. There absolutely are Pokemon that solo planet Earth. And guess how many humans there are? 8 billion. So no 1 billion isn’t a lot.
An Argument for Abra: In Super Smash Bros, Abra's ability teleports the enemy to a random location off stage, so Abra can teleport the lions high up in the air and let gravity kill them. Even if you don't want to count Smash, Teleport can be used as a filed move and teleports the trainer to the last used Pokecenter. Abra can teleport others with him. So I'd put him in either a few lions or a pride of them. Technically every pokemon that learns teleport (and can hover/fly) can do this, but Abra uses it at his main technique.
99% of "lion food" tier has durability and strenght feats in the anime that would allow it to kill a lion like nothing and survive getting jumped no problem. what most people forget is that if you watch the first anime episode a single pidgey can make a tornado powerful enough to throw a person in the air and we have seen starly break trees with tackle, even the weakest route one fodder mon is basically exerting as much force as some of the strongest animals on earth (very animals can break fully grown trees) and the fact that the whole move pool counts is also crazy. the judge of how many lions a pokemon can hit is also stupidly arbitrary, a pokeman can use what the games deem as "single targetting move" to hit multiple opponents, we have seen it happen multiple times in the anime, "lion food" tier should not exist, it should be "would beat a few lions" and upwards since even the weakest pokemon out there can outperform lions by a good margin and has the power to beat 4 to 10 lions.
also for reference: charmander melted trought the shelling of a ship ember (anime) bulbassaur could cut trees with razor leaf (anime) squirtle with water gun could tore through rock (anime) metapod literally dex entries saying it is as hard as a slab o steel and we have seen it use moves in game and in the anime weedle can burry and use its venom to down lions catterpie can also just immobilize lions with string shot and aiming at face would suffocate them rattata can bithe throught metal and rock (and in a single bite, unlike irl rodents which need to wear it down over a couple of minutes), burry itself and managed to send people flying with tackle. so overall, the average pokemon is way too strong for a single lion.

1:33:50 when has Mega evolution has ever shown to be finite unless pokemon is fainted? Does anyone actually think a billion is even gonna come close to even scratching that thing?
@@longnameincoming1219 it's never been confirmed as to why, but you can as easily wildly speculate that it's because for most of them it requires connection with their trainer and is actively causing suffering.
This tierlist giving lions too much credit. A large majority of mons are makiing lions go extinct. Z moves, mega evolution and natural disaster attacks like earthquake, hurricane, sheercold, eruption, etc are all usable by a vast majority of mons. Greninja gets surf and has so much agility and speed that a lion couldn't catch him if they tried for example. Pokeverse is way more op than you realize and height and weight really does not matter when there is a slug that might be hotter than the sun or mew who can learn any move in existence and probably wipe out existence if it wanted not to bring in hoopa who can travel between dimensions. We have alsooo seen how much damage tyrannitar hyper beam could do through the anime and manga and pokemon are far more dangerous and viscious than we are led on to believe.
With what they showed Earthquakes aren't all able to destroy much neither are the hurricanes and such. Unless you consider the earthquake from like a diglett on the same level as an earthquake from groudon. So they said yes they are hurricanes and such but they need to be done by truly strong pokemon to actually cause natural disaster level attacks. Z moves also aren't even going to be counted since most pokemon aren't able to just wildy use z moves. Megas were also not considered as they need people to bond with to do so. You also named a bunch of pokemon who aren't in generation 1 which this video addresses. The problem with Mew really is just the stamina it will face, yes its a mystical pokemon but thats just because its the ancestor. Mew though has shown crazy feats in journeys, it can fucking turn into MULTIPLE LEGENDARIES so thats valid.
They also forget that these Pokémon survive attacks from the higher tier Pokémon, like Blastoise, for example. This means their durability would outscale what the lions could realistically produce. Not to mention, they can dodge light so they would be way faster than the lions as well.
Amazing video. Never had this fun hearing a discussion. I believe pidgeot would be able to take at least a pride of lion or more. It can fly at mach 2 speed, which is 2469.6km/h. It also gets hurricane. But even without using hurricane, if it suicide changes at mach 2 speed, it will create 27k kg m/s momentum. This alone should be able to wipe out a pride of lion. Another question should be, are lions going to try to make a lion ladder to try and hit flying type pokemon? 😂😂
My favorite Pokémon Samurott is going to be interesting B2W2: In the time it takes a foe to blink, it can draw and sheathe the seamitars attached to its front legs. Black: One swing of the sword incorporated in its armor can fell an opponent. A simple glare from one of them quiets everybody. He’s definitely gonna be in 69-420 or extinction
The problem is that pokemon weights are horribly not proportional. Wailord is the size of a blue wale (which is several thousand tonnes) and yet is only 400 pounds.
Literally any pokemon that can fly could at least kill a few, even if they’re base stages, purely because they could just fly up in the air and shoot at them from a distance with special attacking moves. Even Pidgey or Butterfree could at least kill a few, and ones like Charizard or Dragonite could probably kill them all.
I more than agree that **all** the Pokémon would absolutely body one billion lions, but to be fair to the lions (and after doing **so much** research) they could be bigger and stronger than even the example you were using! So if we wanted to make every lion the absolute *PEAK* of lion-ness for the battle, then they could weigh up to 827lbs, be 11ft 11.8in long, and stand at 1.3 meters (4.2ft) at the s̲h̲o̲u̲l̲d̲e̲r̲! (These are the absolute largest sizes that modern lions have been recorded at, though admittedly separate lions for each record, or so I believe.) • unless we were using the American Cave Lions from the Pleistocene Period, which were even bigger, weighing over a 1,100 pounds! But because they're extinct, I'm just using the largest measurements from lion species that still exist. The more you know! ✨ lol. (Also, just to clear up something, lions can *LEAP* around 40ft, they cant jump 36ft in the air. Their highest standing vertical is around 15ft. and just for giggles I'll add that they can infact reach speeds of around 55ishmph, but only for 400ish feet at *PEAK*, at less than their top speed they could run for around 1600ft.) • and as for that article about it taking 3 tranqs and 8 shots to take down the lion is true, but the 8 rounds were from a shotgun. The lion in the article was actually a pretty "average" size, and not completely bloodlusted like the ones in your example, so for the *PEAK* lions at full bloodlust I thinks it'd be safe to assume it would take more. • That article of how lions have a bite of 4,450 newtons/1,000 psi, is correct! however it should be noted that, that is still probably a low ball of even average lions, because it is incredibly difficult to record the actual **full** bite force of any animal, lion or not, because at a certain point the test animal deems it not worth it and wont continue to bite down harder. Meaning that an average lion very well could bite harder than that, and one of the *PEAK* lions could bite even harder than *THAT*. for example, the pride of lions that got trapped in the Okavango Delta, and then had to adapt to hunting almost exclusively Cape Buffalo, which lions normally avoid at all costs if there's any other option. But just to reiterate, all these feats of lion prowess that I am writing here, are their absolute recorded *PEAKS*. (and I'm editing this comment as I watch this, just so I can add to any information regarding lions.) I am wondering about the Pokémon though, do they have limited moves? because, like, in the games once their pp runs out, all the can use is struggle. I do want to make the personal argument that Magikarp could take out at least one lion! (I think the TerminalMontage Pokémon battle royal explains it best but) A) because it'd be funny, and B) Because Magikarp can jump higher than a mountain (even if not in water at the beginning), I think he reaches terminal velocity, and takes out one lion (maybe a few) like a comet before its K.O'd. And I think that's everything! (for now anyway) Great video! I really enjoyed it!

The one thing about mew is that it can freely transform to any pokemon. What's stopping it from becoming dialga or palkia and nuking the lions.
Technically nothing. Journeys Mew has existed since the dawn of Time Space and can freely transform into multiple Pokémon at once (Groudon and Kyogre) before fusing back together. Not to mention it can freely use any move in its base form, so it definitively clears a billion lions.

Now hold on, bite was originally a normal type move, meaning the simple act of sinking teeth into flesh isn't what hurts ghosts, it's the dark type energy that's imbued into the bite technique.
The Dark type is basically just the embodiment of “evil” or “bad”. I think a lion with murderous intent qualifies in the Pokémon universe (also, you need to balance ghost types in one way or another)
@@CoolLlamaGD Balance ghost just to give Lions a shot lmao

STOP LOOKING AT THE HEIGHT AND WEIGHT SO MUCH! THE POKEMON CAN USE ELEMENTAL POWERS TO BODY NEARLY EVERY SINGLE LION!
Yeah, they're using height and especially weight a lot. Machop could throw 100 or so humans at once and physically is about as tall and weighs as much as a child.
Imagine looking at an anime character's height and weight and going, "Oh yeah, that Vegeta guy is short. The lions win, no question."
Lions win bcz of cosmology
I know. They rating this like its an MMA fight. Next they gonna be talking about reach
I'd make the argument Porygon should go in extinction tier.
It can't get tired since it's just code.

@@longnameincoming1219No, no.
I would like to argue all the poisonous pokemon should draw bare minimum due to killing them post mortem due to the toxins in their body.
Every Pokemon can easily beat a lion 1v1 considering how powerful Pokemon moves are. A lion will do less damage to Bulbasaur than Bulbasaur does back to the lion.
With the exception of this video every other time i see this debate it always devolves into "How much do you need to nerf the pokemon for the lions to win?"

Assuming Ditto/Mew wouldn't transform into a poweful ally in a battle for their life instead of a lion is wild

@LordJanenmba In the games yes, but ditto can transform into anything including humans. Game logic doesn't equate perfectly to a real life battle scenario. Otherwise it would also be a turn based battle vs the lions which wouldn't happen realistically
Can’t Ditto target an ally with Transform in a Double Battle?
ditto is shown needing an example to transform into, so since it's alone it could only transform into a lion or an object in the environment. However Mew, being able to transform into anything save for Arceus (we even see it being Groudon and Kyogre at the same time) would be boring. Not really a big fan of lions using BITE on ghost types, there's a difference between the move bite and the act of biting. The move bite has elemental properties, lions are not capable of elemental properties. Think about it l, just because you give a pokemon food and it bites it, it doesn't mean it knows the move bite
Lions don’t have a Type and can’t use Moves, so when attacking a Pokémon, their attacks register as Typeless.
I can make an argument mew being in a billion tier;
1. mew use stone edge to trap the lions
2. mew spam draco meteor until all are dead
3. if mew gets tired then he just recover or refresh
Sure do love your one friend who looks at just the weight of Pokemon and decides Lions win. That's not an annoying take at all.
Bulbasaur (and most grass type pokemon) can cut trees with its leaf from range so it can maybe get 1 for 1 (assuming it out speeds a lion to get that 1 hit)
while flame and other stuff like trying to freeze them will struggle with needing a long time to kill and will be a question is the extreme it is is it instant sub zero/insane levels of heat to kill before they get close
A few complaints here
Bulbasaur could just grab a lion with vine whip, it’s picked up much heavier things in the anime and I don’t see how a lion can do much about that. It would win a lone lion in a fight
Ivysaur and Venusaur, it’s same thing but Venusaur could probably pick up a lion in each vinewhip and use those lions to hit other lions.
THANK YOU. Like why are they underestimating the pokemon so much. Especially when they literally stated they would be judging them at their peaks. Most dex entries when taken into account make some pokemon catastrophic events. And the earthquake argument? Like what was that?

If the lions are positioned optimally (a big circle around Mimikyu, with around 5 rows of lions positioned so that they can all see between the gaps, with only a single lion in the center of the circle, attacking Mimikyu), and assuming each lion occupies around 2 meters of the lion circle's circumference (or roughly 0.4 meters, considering the 5 rows), then:
(30,000 × 0.4) ÷ (2π × 1000) ≈ a 19km radius, aka, each lion would be 19km away from Mimikyu.

99% of "lion food" tier has durability and strenght feats in the anime that would allow it to kill a lion like nothing and survive getting jumped no problem.
what most people forget is that if you watch the first anime episode a single pidgey can make a tornado powerful enough to throw a person in the air and we have seen starly break trees with tackle, even the weakest route one fodder mon is basically exerting as much force as some of the strongest animals on earth (very animals can break fully grown trees) and the fact that the whole move pool counts is also crazy.
the judge of how many lions a pokemon can hit is also stupidly arbitrary, a pokeman can use what the games deem as "single targetting move" to hit multiple opponents, we have seen it happen multiple times in the anime, "lion food" tier should not exist, it should be "would beat a few lions" and upwards since even the weakest pokemon out there can outperform lions by a good margin and has the power to beat 4 to 10 lions.
also for reference: charmander melted trought the shelling of a ship ember (anime)
bulbassaur could cut trees with razor leaf (anime)
squirtle with water gun could tore through rock (anime)
metapod literally dex entries saying it is as hard as a slab o steel and we have seen it use moves in game and in the anime
weedle can burry and use its venom to down lions
catterpie can also just immobilize lions with string shot and aiming at face would suffocate them
rattata can bithe throught metal and rock (and in a single bite, unlike irl rodents which need to wear it down over a couple of minutes), burry itself and managed to send people flying with tackle.
so overall, the average pokemon is way too strong for a single lion.

I don't get it, they try to make it realistic but also try to scale how effective an attack would be based on stats.
Not to mention, they can dodge light so they would be way faster than the lions as well.
i feel like sleeping moves out-scale tranqs because they work on both wailord and the non corporeal ghost types
Amazing video. Never had this fun hearing a discussion.

But even without using hurricane, if it suicide changes at mach 2 speed, it will create 27k kg m/s momentum. This alone should be able to wipe out a pride of lion.
Another question should be, are lions going to try to make a lion ladder to try and hit flying type pokemon? 😂😂
Answers like this are why I want to see Lockstin and Terminal Montage take on this question.
who would win:
a coordinated attack involving millions of lions piling up on top of eachother
or
moving 5 feet to the left
@@DeathDoesThings I guess 5 feet to left. The piling up will topple and die. Although they may take out opponents, who are on the ground. 🤣🤣
My favorite Pokémon Samurott is going to be interesting
B2W2: In the time it takes a foe to blink, it can draw and sheathe the seamitars attached to its front legs.
Black: One swing of the sword incorporated in its armor can fell an opponent. A simple glare from one of them quiets everybody.
He’s definitely gonna be in 69-420 or extinction
The problem is that pokemon weights are horribly not proportional. Wailord is the size of a blue wale (which is several thousand tonnes) and yet is only 400 pounds.
and Dialga made of steel and not as heavy as you would assume
Wailord is a bad example because it’s based on a blimp, but I get your point
(These are the absolute largest sizes that modern lions have been recorded at, though admittedly separate lions for each record, or so I believe.)
• unless we were using the American Cave Lions from the Pleistocene Period, which were even bigger, weighing over a 1,100 pounds! But because they're extinct, I'm just using the largest measurements from lion species that still exist.
The more you know! ✨
lol.
(Also, just to clear up something, lions can *LEAP* around 40ft, they cant jump 36ft in the air. Their highest standing vertical is around 15ft. and just for giggles I'll add that they can infact reach speeds of around 55ishmph, but only for 400ish feet at *PEAK*, at less than their top speed they could run for around 1600ft.)
• and as for that article about it taking 3 tranqs and 8 shots to take down the lion is true, but the 8 rounds were from a shotgun.
(and I'm editing this comment as I watch this, just so I can add to any information regarding lions.)
I am wondering about the Pokémon though, do they have limited moves? because, like, in the games once their pp runs out, all the can use is struggle.
I know this video is Gen 1 only but I love how in the general debate it feels like nobody mentions how Victini is basically a win condition just by being there
0:08 Why is there a video about Jaiden allegations in the search of Pokémon vs lions.
I noticed that too
she was on the video cuz she coloabed with jshallt and made a video on the same topic
@@athulannarashimman5872 I’m talking about the thumbnail saying the Jaiden animations situation is sad.
@kirbystar7474
I would think they mean that, because Jaiden has collabed on a pokemon v lions video, people have searched "pokemon v lions jaidenanimations" so much that the algorithm now thinks that things relating to jaiden are relevant to any "pokemon v lions" search query.
because jaiden in a video with shlatt talking about the lion vs pokémon topic she made a joke about jesus and that's why she got in trouble with the internet idk
