The thing about Iron Valiant's shiny is that in game, it's more of an off-white than a chrome. It gives GladOS vibes and I love it. Though I am partial to it cause it was the first shiny paradox I found
I think for a design standpoint, the new pokemon are great and some of my fav in recent gens. Shiny wise, a lot of them leave a LOT to be desired. Especially the Charcadet line
The best thing about Rellor's shiny is that instead of being a recolour like every other shiny, they actually put in the effort to retexture the ball, which is just amazing, I wasn't expecting them to do that for a completely normal and random Pokémon
I actually adore that all the Future Paradox forms have a lack of a paint job while their glowing effects remain unchanged. But TBH you really need the full set to fully appreciate them.
If Koraidon wasn't already my favourite box legendary then its shiny absolutely solidified it. Was Team Scarlet from the start and I was not stirred wrong!
(Not so) Fun Fact: Gimmighoul and Gholdengo do have shinies, Gimmighoul goes from light bluish silver to white. It probably wouldn't be half bad if Gimmighoul wasn't so small. Gholdengo has his eyes and the lines through his body change (from a sikver to a red iirc), and he's arguably worse than Gimmighoul, it sucks :P
The robot-looking Hydreigon is obviously a reference to Mecha Ghidorah, since they also made a Mecha Godzilla equivalent. (Hydreigon is based on Ghidorah, which is considered to be Godzilla's archnemesis.)
I don't think that's the intention. Hydreigon was never based off of Ghidorah; just because it has three heads doesn't mean that's what it's based on. It's based on the Yamata no Orochi, not Ghidorah. The multi-headed serpent from Japanese mythology. They apparently just stopped at three heads to stop it from looking weird. But this is why there's nothing else really to the Pokemon outside of the heads, including no legs. Supposedly its wings might have been inspired by the Orochi's extra heads, but I think that's more speculative...?
Maybe if they change the wing... turn its head gills to sone kind of parabolic thing... and its arm-head into cannon... its gonna looks awesome and keep its references
Gen 9 has BY FAR the most uneven "good vs bad" distribution in the franchise, some designs are stellar and some are abysmal, there's almost no inbetween, but the shinies are almost all super bad, they barely even change.
An idea to make the Violet Paradox Pokémon shinies more interesting without changing the chrome theme Make the glowing bits the color of their *other* typing as well as turning chrome Examples: Iron Valiant gets a light pink glow to represent its Fairy typing Iron Hands gets an orange glow to represent Fighting Iron Moth gets purple and chrome to represent Poison (which I think silver and purple looks sick if done in the right shades) and Iron Bundle gets that light teal-y blue for Ice typing Iron Jugulis doesn’t really work since the magenta and blue glow is based on the normal form’s colors which don’t fit Dark or Flying type, but I suppose a solid black and chrome Iron Jugulis would look cool Iron Thorns is good as is but if we followed the others the lights could turn yellow for Electric Miraidon I feel like does chrome the poorest, but you could swap the purple and yellow’s gradient in the colors I guess (so the chest is yellow and the outline of the chest is purple and etc.)
About Gimmighoul and Gholdengo's shiny, it actually IS released in the game files... and the only thing that changes is that Gimmighoul gets lighter and that the yellow lines on Gholdengo become a dark grey instead.
Palafin absolutely blew me away with what they could do with a dolphin Pokémon! I did not expect them to turn it into a superhero, but I am HERE for it!
I love wiglet and wugtrio for a few reasons. I do agree that they’re kinda dumb, but the fact they’re based on Conger Eels ( as least from looking at them) is so cute and also works as a good simple example of convergent evolution, a concept we have Irl. Even though Wiglet isn’t related to Diglet, the two took similar forms to eachother even though their environments aren’t strictly the same. Also this kinda puts firm the question as to if Diglet and Dugtrio are snakes at all or not
I like the convergent forms.. it's like convergent evolution in real life, and Pokémon has been trying to mimic aspects of evolution irl since the start.
I still don't understand why Bisharp got an evolution cuz like Pawniard evolved super late (and isn't a pseudo) and was super strong- but Kingambit still cool tho
I genuinely hate almost all of the new pokemon in terms of looks. Literally like 80% of them are either “just a real life animal but slightly stylized” “LITERALLY just a real life animal” or “just an already existing pokemon but slightly different, but not enough to matter” like its mostly just those 3 categories. I will say tho, some of them are REALLY good. Palafin without zero to hero is F tier for being literally just a dolphin, but hero form? Holy crap i FUCKING LOVE IT! And slither wing is actually really unique considering its a paradox pokemon, it actually looks super unique and different from volcarona, and it really works. But my only SS tier pick goes to the entire smoliv line, they really knocked it out of the park with that one! Every stage looks amazing, and i love it so much
Fun fact, lokix is based on Kamen Riders in general. I think it was Kamen Rider Black RX for the normal form and the shiny form has the colour palette of Kamen Rider Zero One
I don't care what people say, I love the Shiny future Paramons. To me they look like Beta, Prototypes, Unpainted finished products straight out of an assembly line. Btw you look completely different than I expected (Not saying this as a bad thing).
The reason that moushold's shiny form looks like that is because it swtiches from a blue to white kn the body, like a blue collar worker to a white collar worker
I think they're all robots because the original forms died off and went extinct, so they tried to recreate a better version of them and the best you can do to do that is make robots? But that's just a theory I've seen a lot of places
Ngl. You're right about one thing. Some Shinies are disappointing in Scarlet and Violet. Some Shinies are good. Game Freak kinda got lazy on the shinies for Gen 9...
Quaquaval is my favorite of the Paldea Starters! I love it's design, it's personality, it's animations, it's typing, and it's hidden ability. Easily my new favorite Water Starter.

If I came up with a design for a shiny for both Gimmighoul and Goldengho, I wouldn't change the chest because I don't know how to change it, and I'll change Gimmighoul's body from silver to gold and the coins to either silver (give it the lazy man's treatment of silver to gold and vice versa) or give the coins a more reddish-brown look (to either look like copper or even gold-oxide, to make the coins look like they've been in that chest for a long time).
i'm so happy to see you love a lot of the pokemon that i do, that i've found other people tend to dislike. it was nice to feel like i wasn't so alone in really enjoying them!
In my opinion, I think what could've made the future paradox shines work aside from adjusting the chrome was if they also changed that lighting on their body (can't remember the specifics but it's the part on their body that can go black when they sleep) to something of a different colour. I think the future paradox shines might've been better if they did that at least. Edit: Do you also think you'll do a video where you'll try and recreate all the gen 9 shines to how you'd make them?
I like these supplementary videos a lot. The original one was very nice, but some opinions were kept very short (which was funny mind you). But I feel like for this one, every mon got some good time dedicated to them.
If you're gonna do 'Biggest Problems with Scarlet and Violet', here are some suggestions. Shinies don't make a sound when they appear in the overworld like they did in PLA. This video actually rubs some salt in the wound considering how little most shinies change, giving me constant paranoeia that I'll miss a shiny. Now lots of people have wanted to be abl to do the Gyms in any order. And we can now. Buuuuut they'll remain at the same level no matter when you face them. This is an issue with the other two storylines, too. On the one hand, being pushed into fighting people by NPCs can be slow and annoying. But on the other, would be better if they didn't GUIDE you in that was. Like, maybe you can fight the others if you wanna prepare for them? Let me put that better... basically, the game could recommend an order for you, while still giving you the freedom to do it how you want. I have to turn to researching what level each Team Star Boss' Pokemon are just to know where to go next. When a Pokemon reaches its evolving level while in autobattle, it doesn't evolve. You have to resort to getting candy. Isn't the whole point of this mechanic to level up Pokemon? You can add more if you wish.
The npcs are more optional you only fight them to get a certain reward at the pokemon center I kind of see both sides to this level scaling stuff where the other hand you feel you're in that pokemon world more when you experience a fight you can't beat either get stronger & beat it or come back later when you're strong enough I saw people saying it's what open world games should be like 🤷♂️
Good video, although I'm wondering if you've never seen green olives or a black pig as you seem to label the pink pigs and black olives as their "actual" color 😆they are fairly normal, specially in Spain, the country on which the region is based on. In fact I'm pretty certain they've choosen the black pig variant due to the Pata Negra pigs (Literally translating into "black leg"), which are quite famous due to their special acorn diet giving them the highest quality curated ham in the land 😁Source: I'm a spanniard

The thing about Iron Valiant's shiny is that in game, it's more of an off-white than a chrome. It gives GladOS vibes and I love it. Though I am partial to it cause it was the first shiny paradox I found
I always imagined iron valiant with a Glados voice
Same its my first shiny.
I think for a design standpoint, the new pokemon are great and some of my fav in recent gens. Shiny wise, a lot of them leave a LOT to be desired. Especially the Charcadet line
Imagine how cool it would be if armorougue and Ceruledge swapped color schemes for their shinies, that would honestly be so cool
I love the fact that I didn't even realise Flittle evolves into Espathra until watching this. I thought they were both completely separate Pokémon
Same
I was shocked I tell you, shocked! This cute little dumbo octopus evolving into a Lady Gaga ostrich isn't what I had in mind...
I love Meowscarada, gives me magician vibes.
Duh
The best thing about Rellor's shiny is that instead of being a recolour like every other shiny, they actually put in the effort to retexture the ball, which is just amazing, I wasn't expecting them to do that for a completely normal and random Pokémon
I actually adore that all the Future Paradox forms have a lack of a paint job while their glowing effects remain unchanged. But TBH you really need the full set to fully appreciate them.
I used to think Quaqaval was ugly but I've REALLY grown to love him. He and Meowscarada are my favorites.
What about skelderidge.

Iron Bundle: 32 buried. 0 found.
I love that someone else shares the love for Rabsca, Palafin, and Cetoddle. These three are amazing, and Iron Hands and Nacli
Shut up bot, also I agree rabsca is my favourite bug type now
I just realized he skipped glimmer and glimmora
(Hydreigon is based on Ghidorah, which is considered to be Godzilla's archnemesis.)
true, but hydreigon is also has some inspirations from the Hydra
@@bulborb8756 I only knew of the hydra reference.
If only they did more with the ghidorah inspiration instead of just throwing hydreigon into the n64 and calling it a day
I don't think that's the intention.
Aura guardian:We don't need a dolphin pokemon, it looks like other fish

The emotions in this video felt too intense for Alex.
You’ve made me appreciate the Tinkas shinies waaaay more: it’s genuinely hilarious what they did with it
Gen 9 has BY FAR the most uneven "good vs bad" distribution in the franchise, some designs are stellar and some are abysmal, there's almost no inbetween, but the shinies are almost all super bad, they barely even change.
I think Gholdengo is partially based on the Silver Surfer
Then why is it gold?
Golden surfer 😂
I thought of the Jamaican Cinnamon stick from Apple Jacks.
@@Saw78967 _Partially._
Or Subway surfers
When I first saw all the new shinies, I knew the DISAPPOINTED clip was going to get a lot of use for Aura's eventual review on them lmao
I've analysed Gholdengo's shiny and I *think* that its eyes are an *extremely slightly different* colour
It's lines are a different color too
It doesn't change much bcus it's already perfect 😎💯💯💯💯💯😎😎😎😎
It doesn't have a shiny as of yet, it's not even coded into the game yet. I think it should be a silver color for the concept of silver and gold
@@pokebreederrichard1200 thats is what it's shiny is at least it's eyes
@@Kaiji... It's Shiny is still garbage.
An idea to make the Violet Paradox Pokémon shinies more interesting without changing the chrome theme
Make the glowing bits the color of their *other* typing as well as turning chrome
Examples:
Iron Valiant gets a light pink glow to represent its Fairy typing
Iron Hands gets an orange glow to represent Fighting
Iron Moth gets purple and chrome to represent Poison (which I think silver and purple looks sick if done in the right shades)
and Iron Bundle gets that light teal-y blue for Ice typing
Iron Jugulis doesn’t really work since the magenta and blue glow is based on the normal form’s colors which don’t fit Dark or Flying type, but I suppose a solid black and chrome Iron Jugulis would look cool
Iron Thorns is good as is but if we followed the others the lights could turn yellow for Electric
Miraidon I feel like does chrome the poorest, but you could swap the purple and yellow’s gradient in the colors I guess (so the chest is yellow and the outline of the chest is purple and etc.)
Finally someone else who loves Quaquaval as much as me!
I do honestly like that the future paradox forms are just unpainted
Same
9:48 the purple one reminds me of the "Black Luster Soldier" from Yu-Gi-Oh
I think Ceruledge looks a lot more like Swordsoul of Mo Ye wearing a different armor.
About Gimmighoul and Gholdengo's shiny, it actually IS released in the game files... and the only thing that changes is that Gimmighoul gets lighter and that the yellow lines on Gholdengo become a dark grey instead.
Okay, no one else seems to have noticed this and it's driving me insane.
Shiny Spidops has Spider-Man colours.
Palafin absolutely blew me away with what they could do with a dolphin Pokémon! I did not expect them to turn it into a superhero, but I am HERE for it!
Gimmighoul's body changes to silver white when shiny. Ghouldengo's lining on its body and eyes changes to a reddish color when shiny.
The shinies seem like the devs were afraid of making them shinies, they either only changed a small part of the pokemon or only tinted them a bit
Also this kinda puts firm the question as to if Diglet and Dugtrio are snakes at all or not
Sorry, but nah. They are basically a worse looking dug trio.
@@olivercharles2930 you're entitled to be wrong lol
Dunsparce was always one of my favorite pokémon , I'm happy they make a evolution even if they just made him ten times bigger

"Everything is chrome in the future!"
It's true, at least the shinies.
Theory:
All the shiny robot Pokémon are chrome, because they’re prototypes, and are thus unpainted.
I like the convergent forms.. it's like convergent evolution in real life, and Pokémon has been trying to mimic aspects of evolution irl since the start.
No.
Every stage looks amazing, and i love it so much
Everyone after finding a violet paradox pokemon:
*ok, so this is a steel type*
Fun fact, lokix is based on Kamen Riders in general. I think it was Kamen Rider Black RX for the normal form and the shiny form has the colour palette of Kamen Rider Zero One
- I start watching
- I see Quaquaval being praised.
- I choke on objectively incorrect opinion
- I leave
I don't care what people say, I love the Shiny future Paramons.
To me they look like Beta, Prototypes, Unpainted finished products straight out of an assembly line.
Btw you look completely different than I expected (Not saying this as a bad thing).
A neat little detail from Scovillain, it's two heads resemble the Comedy and Tragedy masks, since it is a rampaging villain.
The reason that moushold's shiny form looks like that is because it swtiches from a blue to white kn the body, like a blue collar worker to a white collar worker
Still like the worse shiny ever.
Surely I wasn't the only one who wanted armorouge and ceruledge to swap colours for their shinies
"Everything is chrome in the future!"
"all future paradoxes don't have to be robots" all past paradoxes don't have to be dinosaurs
I think they're all robots because the original forms died off and went extinct, so they tried to recreate a better version of them and the best you can do to do that is make robots?
But that's just a theory I've seen a lot of places
Quaquaval is just fabulous dearie, I love the feathers.
11:37 That's not a shiny, game freak just left Quaquaval out in the sun for too long.
I remember seeing the shiny future paradox forms and thinking to myself "These are just robots without their factory paint"
We’ve been blessed with the DISAPPOINTING yell multiple times in this video 😂

As someone who lost interest in Pokemon after the third generation, I have SO many questions lmao
Annihalape honestly feels like something that could've been from a previous generation, it's so good.
If I came up with a design for a shiny for both Gimmighoul and Goldengho, I wouldn't change the chest because I don't know how to change it, and I'll change Gimmighoul's body from silver to gold and the coins to either silver (give it the lazy man's treatment of silver to gold and vice versa) or give the coins a more reddish-brown look (to either look like copper or even gold-oxide, to make the coins look like they've been in that chest for a long time).
what I would have done with sprigatitos shiny is keep purple flower and purple eyes and make it orange and yellow.
The « disappooooointiiiiing » screams in those videos will always get me 😂
Is it just me or did he miss Glimmet and Glimmora
And Varoom and Revaroom
i'm so happy to see you love a lot of the pokemon that i do, that i've found other people tend to dislike. it was nice to feel like i wasn't so alone in really enjoying them!
That moment when Gimmighoul and Gholdengo’s shinies are so bad that Alex can’t even tell the difference…
Fun fact: Fidough was my first shiny in the game.
I admit that would be cooler but the whole reason why they are chrome is because they aren't painted so the lights changing color wouldn't make sense.
I like these supplementary videos a lot. The original one was very nice, but some opinions were kept very short (which was funny mind you). But I feel like for this one, every mon got some good time dedicated to them.
Brumbleghast can be in some way related to Dhelmise? Not just the typing but his eyes and being a ghost attached to a plant
I honestly dont see why so many people dislike houndstone's shiny it looks like it came out of a patch of dead grass in the best way possible
You can add more if you wish.
the third is kinda wrong the point of autobattle is to get tm materials not level up pokemon
@@david_lynch_gaming Ah, ok.
The npcs are more optional you only fight them to get a certain reward at the pokemon center
I kind of see both sides to this level scaling stuff where the other hand you feel you're in that pokemon world more when you experience a fight you can't beat either get stronger & beat it or come back later when you're strong enough I saw people saying it's what open world games should be like 🤷♂️
For the shiny future forms, we need that clip of SpongeBob saying “Everything is chrome in the future!”
Don't wanna be a downer but you forgot about glimmet and glimmora
Iron Bundle is my favorite paradox. Mostly because of TerminalMontage.
Charcadet's Shiny should have been Ceruledge's palette.
I agree.
I don’t know why people hate on scovillian he’s such a good Pokémon!
Good video, although I'm wondering if you've never seen green olives or a black pig as you seem to label the pink pigs and black olives as their "actual" color 😆they are fairly normal, specially in Spain, the country on which the region is based on. In fact I'm pretty certain they've choosen the black pig variant due to the Pata Negra pigs (Literally translating into "black leg"), which are quite famous due to their special acorn diet giving them the highest quality curated ham in the land 😁Source: I'm a spanniard
thankyou for saying Scovillain is awesome. it good to hear my favorite poketuber think same as me. so thankyou again.
Bro dunked on 97% of Shinys
One of the designers watched that episode of Spongebob where he says “Everything’s chrome in the future!” And decided to take that literally
Well I mean it makes sense. What people aren't realizing about the Future Paradox Pokémon is that they are very very far in the future possibly millions of years just like how the Past forms are from millions of years in the past. So it makes sense why they look the way they do. The Pokémon had to be cybernetically modified or even went extinct and had to be remade as robots to survive in the time there from.
If you want to take it one step further there all chrome in there shiny forms because they aren't painted.
It’s most likely due to the future theme, but I love Violet’s Paradox pokemon a LOT better than Scarlet’s. I like the mecha-aspect and it reminds me a lot of Eggman’s original premise: capturing animals and turning them into machines. It also speaks volumes on the potential next stage of Human evolution: A.I.
Also Ceruledge is my new favourite pokemon and Iron Valliant is straight up the best Paradox pokemon, detaching it’s elbow blades and converting them into a double-sabre is just so awesome
Wow Gholdengo's shiny is so bad that you didn't even realise it's been shown off.
