Miles, well done. Great to see a brother in this game. My 992 Carerra S spec is similar to this T (except mine is a manual) and after a year of ownership I couldn’t be more in love with the car.
I am a huge car enthusiast and watch way to many car reviews. Just found your channel and have to say you are incredible at what you do. I just subscribed to your channel...
I have owned a 911 T for almost a year now and literally have never turned the stereo on. Putting the manetino in Sport Plus opens up the exhaust, and with the sound deadening reduced, its a symphony that makes me smile no matter how long the trip. Coupled with the auto-throttle blip on downshifts, this car doesn't need a stereo system, IMHO.

Nice review Miles and thanks for the originality in your comments. At the age of 15 I was blown away by the look and the sound of the tangerine coloured 911 I saw in London when these cars were rare beasts. After a wait of 50 years (9 months to get an allocation and 49.25 years saving-up) I took delivery of mine last month but I'm still waiting for a sunny day to give it a proper blast. Love the photography in your piece - keep up the good work!
Great review, Miles. I love my T. One comment I have is the manual transmission really creates a different and wonderful experience (and you can't get the manual on the base Carrera, nor do you get the PTV and limited slip, both of which are standard on the T). You also save 70-80 lbs of weight. It creates the "slowest" 992 but you would never know it if you don't care about launch control or track speed. I don't have rear-axle-steer, and I can't imagine the car being any better handling than it is. Get BOSE for your sound system, the car is a nicer daily environment than you might initially think, and you will notice the sound system except under heavy back road driving when the engine is the main thing you care about.
My build freeze date is coming up and the rear axle steering is the one option I keep ticking on and off. I’m really on the fence about it. My reasons against it is that it’ll take away from the “pure” experience and feel artificial. But I’ve never driven a 911 so I don’t know if that’s true. Glad to see you love your T despite not having RAS.
I've owned multiple gt3 porsches and also cayman including gt4rs. The Carrera T is my favorite out if all of them. It's so simple and playful. Also, surprisingly fast.
Great video with some original and well-thought out observations. Nice to to hear something new other than the constantly recycled comments about not being able to see the two outermost gauges behind the steering wheel. New subscriber here with a 2023 Manual T, and enjoying going through some of your previous videos.
Hi Miles, This video you have done of the Carrera T is by far the best one on TH-cam. Thanks. My T that just arrived yesterday on the boat is almost identical to this one you tested.
Nice video! First I have seen from your channel. Nice production. I have a new 992 T in GT Silver with PDK. Agree with your evaluation and impressions. Very enjoyable.
As fate gray is the color of the wheels and side mirrors and badging. The ultra top stereo is a Burmeister not the Wilkins we garner. The main point of the T is that it does have a manual transmission - while the base 911 is PDK only.
Great review! 991.2 T owner here after owning a 997.2 C4S. Love the T! Two quick thoughts: 1) manual > PDK if maximizing on fun 2) yes the stereo blows but you should never have it on. Listen to the car and keep the stereo off at all times. Seriously.
GTS is much different than a T. The suspension on the GTS is made for the track, kind of uncomfortable on the road, unless it’s perfect. I have a 24 Carrera T, 7 speed. Super happy with the car.
Congrats! I also just bought a 2024 carrera T. It's actually my second order, my first order is also with 7-speed manaul transmission, but only after 30mins I decided to go with a pdk 🤣 since I might still use this car to commute few days a week. Lost some fun but still a pure drive machine
@@owenstang4665 @ericrichter7451 Congrats on getting your Ts. Close to pulling the trigger on a 24 T as well. Question for you - with the reduced sound deadening on the T, how is the road noise inside the car? I'm going to have my almost 3 yr old in the back during weekend joy rides, and just checking on making the right choice. Thanks again!
@@radans99 as far as I know GTS and T have the same reduced sound isolation, but both not that significantly noisier than a S or base from interior (and all 911 have considerable road noise) If you enjoy the engine sound as I do, T will be the right choice.
What really makes this the BEST bargain in a 911 (for the real driver that is) is that you can get a manual trans, lightweight package, and with a very affordable tune from APR, etc. It will have over 600 hp. So, MORE power than a GT3, lightweight, manual trans at a fraction of the price..
Porsche is criminal with their standard equipment. The speakers especially leave a bad taste. But they have the best engineers and people are willing to pay for that 😅
Which year might be the best for your money...a new one or older year? I have heard the price is going down and the company may be having money issues.
Miles, great video. I’m very undecided on the rear axle steering option. One of my main motivations of getting the T is to have a manual transmission in a purist 911. Do you think the RAS makes the handling more “artificial” or is it a must as far as options go?
I had a tough time deciding on RAS but very glad I got it - pros: low speed turning radius, powering out at high speeds (different from "longer wheel base" effect) , quicker steering ratio when not active between 30 to 50 mph (where most of my back road driving is done). cons: turn in can feel "assisted", 2k option, extra weight/complexity, another thing that can break. As I got more used to it, I'm simply amazed at how well it works. If you do HPDE or you are a highly skilled driver, I would spend seat time in RAS/non RAS back to back before deciding.
Great review (and review-er!). I have a 2023 Carrera T in GT Silver and I love everything about it... except the stereo. You're right, it's garbage. But... mated to a 7-spd manual I can untangle the stretches of highway 1 in my backyard, listening to the "Porsche Soundtrack," and well, be very very happy. Thanks again for a great video! P.S. Bose was not an available option on the 2023 model so it would have been nearly $6k to upgrade... not worth it to me. I would definitely go for the Bose!
Pure flat 6 ? If these were actually normally aspirated and not small turbos to meet emissions mandates then these would be more popular as a purist spec.
