It was an interesting quick review/diagnosis on a new car. Amazing cinematic capture. But a weird abrupt ending. Cheers to Chris Harris keeping the culture alive
Great review as always, Chris! The future does feel oddly fascinating and a bit unsettling at the same time. I'm not sure I fully understand it either, and I kind of don’t want to like it - but here we are, staring down the road of hybrids in the 911 lineup. It’s strange seeing such an iconic model embrace electrification, but your insights make it easier to appreciate the engineering behind it. Here's hoping it stays true to that legendary 911 spirit we all love!
Great video, Chris. As a Long time 911 fan and particular GTS lover, I was particularly interested to know how the tech would function especially as its Porsche. Great to see so much detail on the systems and even better to see its adding value when having to stray away from the ‘purity’ for emissions etc.
Chris, I love the way you interrogate the driving experience of a car. It is special gift, especially to those of us who are unlikely to be sat in that particular driving seat.

With this system you don’t need a wastegate, as the ‘overspeed’ of the turbo energy is harvested back to the battery for deployment in the gearbox e-motor. The e-motor is the starter, generator (alternator) and could be the reverse gear (as per McLaren W1)
So hang on, is the consequence of the Lambda 1 thing that the turbo has to be much larger running lower boost to keep cat temps down and the EAT is the workaround for the resultant lag? If so then the aftermarket should be able to pull a lot of power out of these. Edit: just got to the part where they said its like a truck turbo, nice!
