Honestly, Batman's "Prepare for war" line, the new suit, and the AR tutorials should have all converged on Batman infiltrating an Arkham Knight base for the first time. Everything would've felt more logically and thematically-relevant and it would've been neat seeing Batman turning the tables, using his enemies' resources to his own advantage right under their noses.
Instead, Batman is dawdling around playing videogames while a hostage and his armed captors are mere feet away, somehow not hearing any of this.

it's because he didn't even finish the game lol like he LITERALLY had nothing else to complain and talk about because he probably didn't experience any of the game past Harley's theatre raid. seriously the best bet he had at a "gotcha moment" would be arkham knight bosses and some of the pacing, which even then I'd say those alone don't make it an objectively bad game. but he didn't get that far, hence the 10 minute suit up rant

Even with these topics of criticism, they are very nitpicky and minor infractions that doesn’t take much away from the overall experience. Yes Arkham knight could’ve made more improvements on those categories but he just says the most stupid things I’ve ever heard. My only criticism is there could’ve been better and more challenging boss fights. That deathstroke boss fight was the biggest blue balls of gaming history. Especially disarming all mines across the city, removing checkpoints and bases grinding another 4-6 hours only to get a cutscene was criminak

Are you really surprised that he has the same opinions as everyone else when they played the game when it came out. Some of them couldn’t even finish the game because of the huge emphasis on the Batmobile. That’s the biggest point he made in his videos. I don’t think you paid attention when playing the game
1. The suit up scene in knight and the reliance on the Batmobile is because the game clearly displays Batman going up against a militia with countless high end weaponry and vehicles and also the rest of his rogues gallery in Gotham. This is not an asylum or a small place like Arkham city. Do you seriously expect Batman to face this huge threat in spandex and just by gliding around?
2. The tanks such as cobra tanks don’t have a good field of vision because it’s supposed to give the player a chance to actually destroy them. It’s so weird to me that suddenly you wanna get technical and question why the tank has such dumb weaknesses when in doom eternal you can destroy rocket launching cannons with one precision bolt. Gee I wonder why these hell priests who can control large demons to walk them around in barges and bring back fallen knight sentinels as mauraders created such a weak weapon that can easily be destroyed with one shot of a gun.
3. I don’t know if we’re playing the same game because the combat in knight adds more enemy variants which force you as the player to use certain gadgets to fight them (I.e. electric energy enemies which require a grapple hook takedown or can be shot with the electric gun to dispel). The combat pushes you to use multiple gadgets and methods compared to Arkham city. This is not my opinion, the game literally adds all this. So I’m not sure how the combat is easy for you compared to city.
4. My brother in Christ it’s a VIDEO GAME. The vr tutorials are for the player to practice the stealth and combat with the new suit and get used to the new mechanics the game has implemented. It’s not that deep. Nearly every halo game has you looking up and down as a tutorial section. Far cry 5 has you flying a plane through hoops as a tutorial for flying in the game even though there’s a cult that is brainwashing and murdering people. Every video game has these tutorials to help the player get familiar with the game. This is not a movie where they’re just acting out a script. They are trying to help the player engage with the product comfortably. You cannot seriously have such a brain dead problem with a game having tutorials.
This has nothing to do with different opinions. This is about you being a hypocrite with your critiques. You spend multiple videos defending the maurader and how game journalists just don’t get it, but turn around and complain like those same people about the Batmobile in knight. You constantly talk about games needing to push a player out of their comfort zone in order to be fun but the Batmobile and the blue highlights (that are trying to show you alternate ways of fighting enemies) are now suddenly annoying and a negative. Worst of all, you don’t go into detail about your problems with the game and just make broad statements. You are a game reviewer. You need to make proper points and explain them. You can’t be surprised when you get called out for half- assing a video and then chalk it up to different opinions.
And lastly, you can’t not finish a game and then try to say it’s good or bad. If this was some incredibly long game like AC Valhalla then I would get it, but knight is nowhere near that long. You can’t expect people to take you seriously on a game if you don’t even finish it. It’s fine to not wanna waste your time on it if you don’t like it, but don’t be surprised when people don’t take your critique seriously or put it in high regard.
I genuinely don’t understand how someone can be so good at making high quality doom eternal videos, breaking down the great mechanics in detail and then be so terrible at reviewing other games.
I totally agree with you! There are video gamey reasons for stuff like the AR challenge. And i find the batmobile overuse for riddler stuff but a story standpoint makes sense why he would use it to fight tanks. And you i get what you are saying about the bad game thing. For example devil may cry 2 is a game i never finished. It is however a badly designed game. Overall the level design and stuff in knight isn’t bad . The story doesn’t flow smoothly alot but you get what is happening.

The suit scene in arkham knight isn't just there to be awesome. It is important to the Story. As lucius explain, the suit gives batman the ability to move faster, put more force into his counters, pull himself up at greater speed and be able to eject himself out of the batmobile. Without this suit, batman would be hindered by the prior one, making him unable to perform at peak efficency.
Yeah. Batman got a new suit because things got serious. He is going all out.
One of the points of the new suit was to have the multi takedown to deal with the current hostiles. Just because you were offered the option of tutorials doesn't mean you have to. City let you roam and goof off despite Catwoman being a hostage. Additionally, if you did test the suit wouldn't that also be smart to make sure the suit functions properly so you don't accidentally die and get the hostage killed? It's not like the militia were keeping him on a timer.
Also who doesn't like the creators taking the time to be detailed and methodical. Bringing up the science behind the suit is much more engaging and grounded than giving batman a new suit and saying oh he's superman now. Under the mayo is complaining about people fan boying over batman when that is the entire point of superhero comics😂. All the Easter eggs about batman's world is just making the game better

Arkham Knight doesn't seem to care whether you engage or not with the combat, as the outcome is always the same if you never die or get severely punished for playing "bad". That is why the game is easy, because you can do whatever you want and still live.

The complaint of the cars being moronic doesn’t make sense. It’s a gameplay mechanic. Do you want intentionally annoying enemies that aren’t fun to fight just for the sake of realism?
The tank combat is laughably easy though. I've beaten the game on the hardest difficulty and it felt like I was sleeping my way through the combat.

@@danielgeronimo5538 I do think the car fights could have used more challenge, but the way he words that complaint is unfair and just plain inaccurate. The same complaint can be applied to any game. If the imps in Doom Eternal could stray from their basic movesets just because it would be more realistic strategy to throw fireballs more often, doesn’t mean it makes the game better.
I like how he doesn't apply the same logic to stealth like how can the enemies doesn't hear batman grappling across the entire room or why they doesn't hear anything when someone being choke out literally right next to them

I find it funny that everyone is complaining about criticism of the batmobile, as if the game hasn’t been slammed by everyone upon release and for years after because of it. I’m just gonna say this, the fact that people still play and come back to this game nearly a decade later and find new mechanics and secrets in the game. Or the simple fact, that it’s still talked about to this day! Shows that the developers did something right. Whenever you like Arkham Knight or not. You have to admit that they created a masterpiece. ( Btw in Arkham City, as soon as you put on your Batsuit, you can fight criminals and do some riddler side missions. While Catwoman is being a hostage by Two Face mind you)
Or maybe it has to do with the fact that it’s part of a series of an established series with much better games behind it.

I was able to figure out the basics of the arkham combat when i was eight dawg. The fact you struggle this hard with any game that isnt an fps tells me you shouldnt be reviewing games. I just cant comprehend how you can be so good with doom yet struggle with literally any other game.
@@Carrion0409 I don't struggle with Arkham combat. You can watch my videos on Arkham City and see me doing high combos in combat challenges. The footage you see here is a demonstration of how sloppy play is punished on hard difficulty very early in the game. It's an intentional recreation of a beginner experience, not how I actually play.

ur only actually valid criticism of the game is the lack of immersion with the batmobile. But it is quite literally just an inconvenient thing in the game. Almost 80% of the game is you as batman. I’d rather have more Batmobile then no Batmobile, it’s still content which I like even if it is a bit overused. Also considering we had 3 (4 if origins) games of no Batmobile I’d say the amount is fine.
Even the Batmobile argument isn’t a strong critique anymore. Fans wanted a Batmobile and they got it. It fits the map and the threat related to the story. Also adds a new variety of encounter, because going from combat to predator maps gets old really fast so adding Batmobile adds the immersion and another from of challenge.
6:08 the game is telling you the new features of the suit that weren't present in earlier entries, it was a tutorial. And we all know you would have complained like hell if the game didn't tell you about the new features
Dude, those things have little to no relevance to the game, you play as normal with or without the high tech batman, its basically a stat check that its not really a stat. There is literally no point to it. Any gameplay change after that seens disconected, you could have gameplay additions without it and it would still make sense.

I enjoyed the suit up in Knight, it explains why Batman could not do these things in City, such as his suit protecting him from a faster grappling hook , giving a hint of the Batmobile's eject, why fear takedowns can be performed now and showcase how his new suit is different. Yeah, its indulgent, but I thought it was fun. One small detail though, in City you also had access to VR training, to teach how to use the new mobility system using gliding and the grappling hook.
It's not about whether the VR training is there or not, it's about when and how it's presented, having barman literally dress up and play VR games as a tutorial RIGHT when there is a hostage situation on the same roof, takes away any sense of ergency and immersion
