    Hey Nick, over 2 years ago as I was starting my channel I used to watch your channel regularly and I'd follow your streams. On one of them you even reviewed my channel. I want to tell you that with your help I was able to grow my channel substantially and your tips have been extremely helpful. When you reviewed me, I had around 1k subs, and when I asked what I could do to optimize you said I was doing as well as can be and just to be patient. That patience wore off and now I'm at almost 180k. Thank you again for the videos you've made. Cheers!

    I'm gonna add/contradict to your point about making something daily because if you share the thing to shorts (and other vertical platforms) you'll get additional data and feedback. By sitting on it, you get practice, but no data. You may also start to build an audience there too, so it's minimal risk.

    • @TraceBravo
      @TraceBravo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. This was my experience. Posted my practice videos as shorts. They have contributed to bringing views, and building my audience while developing my skills.

    Man this is one of the best videos I've seen as far as just giving practical, actionable things you can do EVERY DAY to help improve your channel. That's what has been missing for me. I keep feeling like I should do SOMETHING every day to help my channel grow and just understand it all better. I log on every day but I usually end up going down a rabbit hole full of "youtube guy videos" and spending a lot of time without learning a lot. This is an itemized list I can write down, post next to my desktop, log on and do every day. Thanks!

      @@TritonTv69420 I had 2.2+ million originally but got demonetized for reused content. I had old stuff on there like a video of a concert and a softball game. I had to blow my channel pretty much to the bare bones and start all over.

    Having just a couple of videos sitting at over 2000 views while all my other content struggles to get past 300 views has me scratching my head 🤔
    I know I am not really a content creator as such and most of my stuff is just music I make along with some DaVinci Resolve animations or flame fractals
    Maybe I should try something different... Instead of just uploading a video with animation, perhaps I should give my videos a personal touch and open up with an introduction explaining what is coming up

    I have been uploading videos on my channel for about 6 years consistently. Its fun but its very very hard! I upload 2 times a week and im still on a very difficult climb and my views and sub growth rate is pretty much non existant. I have no idea why, but for some reason all my videos have a shap drop in viewers in the first 30 seconds despite all efforts to grab attention. The worst thing to think about is if youre the problem and not the content (like thinking youre ugly or annoying) its super easy to gaslight yourself

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes its hardest when you have to look in the mirror so to speak when it comes to your own content. That first 30 seconds is like when you meet someone for the first time and you immediately form several first impressions about them. When someone starts to play the video, are they getting what they clicked for? Are they getting an impression that the video will deliver on the promise of the title and thumbnail?

    Great tips thanks...... Should I have my video titles on my thumbnails ? as I see lots of creators don't 🎉

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, the thumbnail should complement the title, not re-state it.

    When you are saying homepage, do you mean our own curated homepage on our accounts or a fresh page on a different browser that does not have an account logged in?

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your curated home page. The assumption would be that you're already watching some of your niche competition, so some of those videos should already be getting surfaced for you. An incognito window is just going to give you a selection of broad appeal content only.

    Hey Nick! We continue to watch some of your videos to help us grow and it has worked. I have a question? do you know if TH-cam stopped pushing out shorts for small content creators? I've noticed it's hard to go viral on shorts now and I'm not the only one that's complained about it? Also why is no one talking about how you can promote your own TH-cam videos through google ads to get more views on their videos?

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They didn’t stop showing them, you can see this by looking at your “impressions” for the short in analytics. You’ll see it got initial impressions but then fell off. What’s happening is the shorts shelf is getting increasingly more competitive making it harder to perform there.

       @NickNimmin That makes a lot of sense. It's definitely discouraging more than ever now but thank you for your feedback! All the best.

    Thank you so much for this insightful information, I have a quick question, so inside my TH-cam channel analytics it shows that most the views comes from Channel Page with almost 50% then secondly the External with 24% while I getting very low views on TH-cam search and suggested videos, what should I do to improve those two areas to get more views on it.

    I have 2 exact videos about the same and one gets 1000 , views while second ( next ) got 30 views. This is the most unexplained thing that happens. There is no consist about views. It really demotivates.

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No two videos are exactly the same. The topic, title and thumbnail go a long way to whether someone clicks or not.
