Being a TH-camr is very similar to running a business. You should upload thing people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. When the growth is real, you should consider hiring people with different skills (editors, script writers...) and continue to maintain a channel image that your viewers have in mind when they see your video. The most difficult part is starting and I have to say that if I hadn't found out about Famester, I would probably not be able to write this comment today.

If you just started a channel: Don't be discouraged by the initial challenges or slow growth. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is a successful TH-cam channel. Stay consistent, keep honing your craft, and believe in your idea - because with dedication and perseverance, you have the power to achieve greatness. Keep going, Champ!

Hey Shannon! Just to preface, I am still new to the TH-cam space and am definitely still in the R&D part of my TH-cam career.
Anyway, I hope you don't mind, but I did a quick look at your channel and I noticed your videos have good quality, but they aren't getting the traction I feel you deserve. You may want to try something like VidIQ or some other software to help you increase your SEO. I didn't see a lot of tags or keywords in your description that I think could help you get noticed by the algorithm. Also, I'm not getting paid to say this. This is just me being friendly with other channels so I can learn from this space with you guys! Stay blessed!
A quick tip- you can edit even after the video is uploaded on the phone thru the TH-cam creator studio app., it’s super easy to use.. like add hashtags description etc.
I've done more shorts than regular videos with having 5 kids, and hopefully can go full time someday so i can be around my kids all the time:)

Just a quick note if you only have a phone, if you upload and keep it private and then go into the TH-cam creator app you can then carry on the upload being able to choose tags/categories etc 😊

I’m still struggling a little with my subscribers but things are getting better. I do have one question though, how do I get my drafts shorts to my desktop to be edited? I just can't seem to find my shorts 'drafts' on the desktop, so I've been uploading the short as 'private' on my phone and then I can easily edit everything else and change the visibility to 'public'. Do you think this would have the same effect as making it a draft?
Hi Paige! Are you not able to see your shorts drafts in your channel content? Uploading a video as "unlisted" works well! Then changing it to public when you're ready for that! :)

I have a deep question that I have NEVER gotten a solid answer for and maybe you can help… I schedule many many Shorts in advance. I post them all at once, scheduled to go public once a day. I have noticed that some videos I uploaded a LONG time in advance (3-4 weeks) just don’t perform at all, like they have gone “stale” waiting to go public. Here’s the weird thing: if I private that underperforming video, then reupload it same-day, it’s a total success.
Here is my question: is there any merit to my idea of the algorithm ignoring a video that has sat there scheduled for a long time waiting to go public? I know time of day etc. matters, but these “stale” videos get pretty much zero impressions, but same video uploaded same-day gets tons of impressions. What’s going on there??

Liz and I are planning some longform videos this summer for TH-cam. In the meantime, all of our shorts are done without any talking. I basically show people how to cook something and then share the ingredients in the description. Do you think I’m losing out a lot on viewership or engagement by not speaking? I post longform videos, where I share mainly dessert recipes. I do not talk, also I don’t do asmr… I have some pleasant sounding music in the background and that’s it.
I feel like I’m losing viewership, but at the same time I’m so scared people are going to hate my voice 😥… Just do whatever feels comfortable. Maybe post a couple videos with some talking and see how they do. Good Luck 😊

Thank you so much Stevon! Also great question! SO I don't exactly know BUT I have a theory (so don't take this as fact), my theory is that TH-cam pushes Shorts out to a group of viewers at a time. So maybe it's first to 100 people, and if that Short hits a certain metric, then they'll push it out to 1,000 people. If the Short hits a certain metric again, it'll continue to be pushed to more and more people. But if it isn't hitting those "standards" that YT has set, they won't push it to the next grouping.
