    Happened to me in my 08 Yukon, took it to the mechanic and he replace spark plugs (double platinum from autozone) and problem got resolved, remember DOUBLE PLATINUM, those are the ones what your Yukon needs 👍

      saeed alshaikhi the real issue here is your plugs and air filter need changed!! As does your battery if it’s 3yrs or older. These vehicles no longer have distributors so they rely on good battery power to power the coils, bad spark and clogged filter cuases build up wich will short out your throadle body sensor, because the flap will be restricted of movement! Also always put very good fuel cleaner once in a while to keep fuel injector s in good shape! Good luck..

    Got a question. I have 378k miles on my 2007 yukon xl
    Just 2 weeks ago, i replaced the radiator, water pump, timing chain & oil pump & and pick-up tube. I've had the same indication coming across my dashboard in the past. I did the same thing by changing the brake pedal switch, throttle body, and throttle body sensor.
    In the past, mine did come on, and with the scan tool found out the #7 plug had oil on it and was filing out. Changed the plug and valve cover gaskets and the abs and traction light went off. Now mine has been on for a few months even before I changed all the parts I mentioned
    Did your check engine light come on, too?

    the BEST WAY to get to number 8 (5.3: sierra, yukon, silverado) is to get a 360 universal joint adapter for your 3/8 inch socket and then sprawl over the engine and get personal with your truck.. I mean who doesn't enjoy humping a gmc motor? I know mine runs a little better with this kind of love. No, seriously, I just did a complete spark plug and wire set and ignition coil replacement this very morning on a 2011 5.3 sierra. I don't understand this crap about removing the pax wheel and shroud to get to number 8. Was it hard? No. Did it take more time than the other 7, yes! How much more time than the other 7? about five minutes. It's all about having the right kind of tools...a simple universal joint 3/8 inch adapter and knowing how to get down with the left arm and wrist. (easy for the lefties). The trick is to thread your arm between some hoses and use your right hand to steady the adapter. (because it wants to flop around when you are removing the plug and reinstalling a plug. The coil pack was even easier with a short throw 1/4 drive ratchet and socket ....3/8 inch 360 universal adapter...$3.00 at harbor fright! don't be afraid to touch your motor people.

  • @huitron23

    An easier way to get to spark plugs # 5,6,7 is to use an 3 inch extension swivel ratchet 3/8 with the spark plug socket be sure to hook it up to the spark plug you are taking off then attach your ratchet for the #8 spark plug use 1 inch extension with the spark plug socket. remember to also attach the 1 inch ext and spark plug socket into the spark plug before connecting your swivel head to it

      Had the same issue on my 2007 Yukon xl. It was the lower control arm. Changed the control arm assembly and fixed. It. The pair (driver side & passenger side) runs about $230 to $330 depending where you purchase it. Of course Amazon or Ebay has it cheaper but read any and all reviews. Napa, O'Reilly and Advance Auto has the pair in the $300 range.

      jayb198083 replace plugs gap/torque to spec!!! Also replace air filter, dump 1 gallon of laquar thinner to ten gallons on gas in tank run till empty!! Also have battery checked , these cars need great source of power (battery) as they do it have distributors any more! Now take long skinny screw driver to fuel injectors listen to see if they are all ticking. No need to replace wire and coils as everyone seems to do!

    • @nicholasmcpherson3921
      @nicholasmcpherson3921 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coming from Lexus/Toyota vehicles but the point is still true but if the ecu picks up really ANY kind of fault code, it puts a "limp mode" algorithm to reduce engine and transmission problems. Even if it's a cylinder misfire from a bad plug, wire or coil pack in my case, GM vehicles will throw a stabilitrac code, check engine and ABS light just like my Lexus' when an o2 sensor went bad or when I put a turbo on my 2jzGE...limp mode.
      If vehicles didn't do this, 98% of people end up blowing up their turdbox!
      With higher compression and e85 compatibility, this light may be annoying but it's just another reason why this engine is legendary and all-out bulletproof! Basic maintenance goes a long ways..

      Opie Rebuilds my 2007 Tahoe has been causing my problems. Something keep triggering the traction to come on and it becomes hard to drive or accelerate and sometimes not move at all. And when I can’t move I have to tap on the brakes for it to move but the traction control stays on.. was this the problem you were having?? Im gonna try what you did here and see if it helps.
