Mr.Scubamoto I had took my 2007 chev silv to a local mechanic. Reason why, the truck was rough riding with the engine light and other service lights came on . This was Thursday. So that Thursday afternoon when I took the truck to the mechanic, the gave me a quote of $5500. The said it was transmission as well as the Joe blow rod. I didn’t know what they were talking about . All I heard was $5500 !!! And times are tough right now an I really need this truck for work. So I went to you tube an found your video. It was so well explained how to fix the problem. So I followed your every step. Only small problem I found was when that when it’s multiple ignition coils it’s a certain code for that . But the code reader that my brother lend me , pointed out it was the 1st and 2nd coils. So I bought the two coils , changed all the spark plugs and wires. And now it purrrs like it was new. I was about to give in to that mechanic an take it in on that Saturday but your video was so well explained. That I felt like I can do it. And I did. Thank you so much !!!
Primetime Tunes: Thanks for taking the time to share your story. I'm glad I was able to save you some big bucks. That's what it's all about. I'm also not big on waiting in lines and then in waiting rooms and then for rental cars. Now on to the coil codes. The iCarsoft reader in the video refers to coil 1 as "Ignition coil A" and coil 3 as "C", etc. But the fault codes are still numerical. If both were failed at the same time it would have listed both fault codes (P0351 and P0353). Now for the shop you took it to. Any shop would certainly have scanned the same codes that I would have. If they saw codes for two failed coils . . . well, it's hard to pay more than $200 for a full set of eight AC Delco brand coils. If they provided you with a written breakdown of the $5,500.00, perhaps you could share the basics of that estimate for the benefit of our viewers. Thanks again for taking the time to share and congratulations on a job well done fixing your vehicle!

I busted the window out of the church van in holt mi towing it with a boom truck , oops i payed to have it fixed , but i was pretty embarassed. My control stuck and i didnt catch it fast enough , it took my brain to long to process what was happening and how to stop it ..i was used to running a roll back , i was just a employee , but i stood up like a man and repaired my mistakes , its rare nowadays ..

I would like to thank you for posting this video. I was having the exact problem and I followed what you outlined in the video and was able to fix the issue. But my misfire was not caused by a faulty coil pack, but a wire chewed completely through due to fluffy the rat. Replaced the plug/connector and the traction control and stabilitrak messages went away. Thank you again for posting the video! God Bless You Sir!

@@ScubaMoto, fluffy was also in the process of building a nest or a bed(cause that what is what looking like, lol) right under the throttle body I saw it and didn't think much about it until I saw the chewed wire. Then I put two and two together. If I could find fluffy we'd go round and round. Again Thank You for posting video!
Man I had the same exact issue with stabilitrak off traction control off and engine light coming on and truck riding rough right when they came on so I replaced all the spark plugs bc they all looked pretty rough and replaced the wires too but i still have the problem what else should I look ? I’ve looked at the ignition coils they look fine I’ve switched some and they seem fine the only code that showed up in the first place is still showing up misfire on cylinder 6

I just did some maintenance on my recently purchased ‘08 Suburban 2500 a few days ago. She started running rough last night and the engine light popped on. Tonight the Stabilitrak and traction control service lights started dancing on the display and the engine light started flashing. In the morning after my shift my first stop is going to be orileys and see if this is the issue. Will update later. I got really scared it was a major issue that’d cost me an arm and a leg to fix. Excellent video. My 2009 Avalanche had a similar problem, but my cheap Chinese code reader showed nothing. Went to Autozone and used their more advanced tool. Showed low brake fluid. Sure enough, the reservoir was REALLY LOW. Filled it up, problem solved!!!!

If it were mine, I would pull all codes including the chassis codes. For chassis codes, you'll need a scanner advertised as able to read and clear ABS codes. It could be as simple as a wheel sensor or damaged wheel sensor wire, but the codes will likely get you started in the right direction.

Well done and right to the point. Now if you could only help me with this GMC Arcadia cam fault.
The AFM disabler fixed my misfire. My truck was using way too much oil. The oil was fouling plugs causing multiple random misfires. With the AFM disabled my 07 avalanche burns hardly any oil now.

I had the same issues.. Swapped #7 coil with the #1 and it followed #1.. Replaced the coil and changed all my spark plugs and wires because they were overdue both codes are gone.. abs and p0442.. Will update if anything changed but the vehicle feeling completely different now😃

Hey bud just saw your excellent video! I had the same issue with cylinder 1 BUT come to find out I'm not getting any spark on cylinders 1, 3, 5, 7. I checked the fuse box specifically for the injectors they are good. Would you know what else might be my culprit?
Pete Francois: So you say no spark. Do you mean lack of spark or lack of combustion (misfire)? The answer is important and also; is that based on a code you pulled from the IBD port and if so, please list what codes were stored before anyone cleared the fault codes. That information is very important to helping diagnose which of the many possibilities might be causing cylinders not to combust. When an entire cylinder bank goes out like this (cylinder bank 1 in your case) it usually relates to vacuum leaks, gasket failures (intake or head gaskets) or other faults that will affect the entire left cylinder bank. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the video. 2011, all 4 brakes locked up. Couldn't released, have to removed abs, prking, fuse to relase, what would cause it.
Too many possibilities for me to guess. I would start by pulling all "C" codes. For that you will need a code reader that is advertised as able to read and clear ABS codes. It should at least get you going in the right direction. A standard code reader will not give you ABS and wheel sensor codes. You may also want to inspect the wires going to wheel sensors and consider any work and/or damage done to the vehicle recently. I hope that helps.

It sounds very different than the video since you may not have an engine issue. There's a note at the bottom of the video description. To get started, you will need an ABS scanner to look for speed sensor or other drivetrain issues. A standard code reader won't see those codes.

Does this concept work on a 2009 Tahoe Hybrid? I just had the Oil Pressure Sensor replaced and upon picking up my Tahoe, the Service Stabilitrak light was now on. Any help would be much appreciated.
Wayne Bridgham: It's tough access to that pressure sensor. If you didn't have the dash warning until after the shop worked on it, then logic dictates that the warning has something to do with their work. Since it's immediately after, the shop will likely be willing to help you with it. Even if you don't have a flashing engine light, many things could cause the warning. They will likely start with pulling fault codes to get clues.
What if it’s none of the coils and I have 2 misfires and all the same problems you talked about rough idle traction lights check engine flashing and now it gets hot
Edgar Delasancha: That's also very common. I would start by pulling active and stored codes and go from there. If the only code is misfire, I would want to know what cylinder(s). I would then test plugs, wires, injectors, etc, by swapping in the same manner shown in the video to swap coils. The goal is to see which hardware swap causes the code to move from one cylinder to another. If the codes do not identify a cylinder and you cannot isolate which cylinder is misfiring, then we would be looking at other issues: fuel delivery, oil contamination from failed gaskets or valve guides, carbon build up. I hope that helps.

any one that can help with this ::: I have a 09 chevy Silverado and the while the stabilitrac is having issues and running rough . this time was the #7 coil pack which I have changes and those codes all left .. I have no oil registering in the pan on the dip stick.. last time this happened i added oil and wound up with 10 cts of oil in motor ... seems it is staying in the top end and you can hear a rod knock but let sit over night and oil back in pan.. this time not comming down after cooling?? any Ideas?? I feel like it has some thing to do with the switch from 4 cly to 8 cly cycle on this truck

If you don't have a flashing engine light like in the video then it sounds like a failing wheel sensor or a loose or damaged wire to a wheel sensor. Definitely have someone with an ABS sensor read the C-codes. Engine code readers can't do it. You'll need a scanner that can read ABS codes. Good luck with it.
My issue was one of the cylinders itself if you change coils and spark plugs and the problem still exists it’s most likely the cylinder heads need to come off

08 escalade had 1357 misfire and stabilitrac ground wire under power steering pump just behind on block cut terminals and crimped new ones to fix it.

FWIW you got me pretty excited. I went out and scanned my 2008 Yukon with these exact symptoms (including the rough idle and low rpm misfire) and lo and behold. I retrieved a P2272 O2 sensor lean code. Now I'm convinced there is a misfire due to the rough idle and lack of power down low, and confused whether I should pursue the O2 sensor instead. Any ideas?
It's pretty rare to see obvious symptoms like rough idle with nothing but a P2272 code but whatever the issue, it's on the bank 2 side only. So, here are some free and easy stuff to check:
1. I would check for Vacuum leaks using starter fluid. It could also be a bad injector or valve issue but cracked PCV or vacuum hose is easy to find.
2. Check thoroughly for exhaust leaks, exhaust manifold or flange leaks and or cracks up stream of the cat. It's less likely, but the vehicle's response to these leaks could cause an idle problem. If you don't have a smoke generator, I have another video showing a method I used to successfully find a leak in a Range Rover cat using a shop vac and an incense stick. That leak was causing plenty of havoc.
3. I would clear codes, then swap both post-cat sensors and see if the code stays bank 2 or follows the sensor to bank 1 thus proving a bad o2 sensor. If you can, you may want to swap them bank to bank as pairs since that's how they report. Then if the code follows to bank1, you replace both of those sensors.

@@ScubaMoto Sincerest thanks for taking the time to lay this out. It's a used vehicle with plenty of miles on it. To be clear, I sensed the rough idle during the test drive on the highway. Also, the "power loss" I was talking about was down in the low revs. It would stand up if I hammered it up to around 4k, and then it felt unstable when it hit the high gears again. Otherwise, it's a beautiful machine. I will swap the sensors like you explained and I'll poke around the manifolds with a can of carb cleaner to see if anything turns up. Gimme a pre-2000 any day. This stuff is just aggravating. ;-) Thanks again for taking the time.
I have a 2011 Tahoe w/ 210k miles. I just started getting the stabilitrak off error, but no engine codes. Also have a rough idle and not shifting great and hesitating/surging when accelerating. I changed the plugs and wires a few months ago with no improvement. Tested the spark with a HEI spark tester. Any thoughts on how to diagnose next?

Doug Slater: I'll try to help get you started in the right direction. Of course this video is for a misfire, but the Stabilitrak and Traction systems will shut off for many other reasons. If you have a rough idle, I'm surprised if there are no engine fault codes stored. Either way, you will still have fault codes in the system, they just may not be engine related. It you're lucky, it could be a wheel speed sensor, a loose wire to a speed sensor or even as simple as a bad TPMS sensor. Since you are reporting shifting issues, there are other possibilities relating to the transmission and xfer case. You will need to start by pulling the fault codes and then go from there. You will need a code reader that can also read Chassis or "C" codes. Those readers are usually advertised as able to read and clear ABS codes. Good luck

Question I have, all the stuff mentioned above happened to my vehicle, but suddenly went away once I started driving again. What causes the flashing engine light/stabilitrack-off light, to suddenly go away?
Sometimes you lucky with a warning before a total fail. I would scan for fault codes. Even when the dash warning goes away, the fault should leave a memory or history code that you can scan. That should get you started in the right direction. Good luck with tit.

Andy Stitnicky: If you have a flashing engine light then it's an active failure causing the misfire. This would certainly generate one or more fault codes. If you haven't pulled codes I would start with that and go from there. If you did pull codes, I would want to know what those codes are before proceeding. It could be fuel delivery (bad injector(s)). It could be misfire caused by oil or coolant contaminating the cylinder combustion and fouling the spark plugs. This could be caused by a failing cylinder head gasket or failing valve guides or seals. The latter would likely cause the vehicle to smoke but not always. I hope that helps.
Hey when this happened to my truck last year it ended up being a stuck valve ! Pain in the ass ! Had to change the lifter , valve and resurface the head ! Wish it was just a damn coil

Hi thanks for your video . I have a 07 tahoe LTZ I changed all my spark plugs, all 8 coils and 8 fuel injectors codes has left for like 3 months but now I have code P0300 Can you please help me by telling me or guiding me on what to do to fix this Thank you
I'm glad the video helped. It's too bad you've got a new code and that the only code you're getting is the P0300. I'll try to help but a lone P0300 could be a lot of possibilities including fuel delivery (clogged filter or bad gas), low compression (warn valves, valve guides or head gasket issue) or even a vacuum leak (loose hose, cracked hose or head gasket or intake gasket issue). How many miles are on the truck and does it ever smoke (on cold start or pulling away from a stop light)? Any other work done on it recently? Does it require additional oil or coolant very often?
You said the engine light was not on or flashing after the fix, but what about the traction control and stabili trak?
Robert Morin: At the end of the video you'll notice that, even after the repair, the vehicle will continue to display a fixed (not flashing) engine light for a short time because the misfire and coil fault codes are still stored as history codes. If the vehicle does not see another misfire within a certain time, number of trip and mileage, the vehicle will automatically cancel the code and eliminate the engine light. I chose to simply clear the codes knowing that the issues were resolved. No codes returned. The Stabilitrak OFF and Traction OFF warnings were the vehicle's response to the misfire caused by the faulty coil. Those warnings immediately stopped once the repair was complete and the misfire was no longer active. If those two warnings came on at the same time as the flashing engine light (Misfire), then they should stop when the issue is resolved. The two systems will also be active again.
Does the engine light need to be blinking for the traction control issue to be a misfire?
Engine light came on yesterday. Today traction control and stabilitrac is off. I cleared the engine light by unplugging the battery (hoping to just reset everything). Still have the traction issues and the vehicle is running higher rpm’s and only going 40 mph, like it’s not shifting. I’m mechanically inclined just not with vehicles so I don’t know what to do from here.
Engine light on means there is an issue. When it's flashing, it indicates that the issue (misfire) is actively happening. When it happened, it left fault codes that will help you solve the issue as shown in the video. Even if the original codes had cleared, since you're still having issues, there are likely still active and history fault codes stored that will be very useful to answer questions about what's failing. If you have ever seen an ABS light on the dash there may also be faults beyond the engine. For the engine issues, you will probably find what you need with a free scan at the local auto parts store. If it was mine, I'd scan for both engine and chassis ("C") codes. You'll need a scanner that is advertised as able to read and clear ABS codes. That should get you started.

My 2014 GMC Acadia is doing this exact thing.. the Stabilitrak and Traction Control off will flash for like 20 seconds along with the engine light... with my car feeling a little light and shaky. Then it all goes back to normal. I've changed a coil that had shown a misfire.. changed all spark plugs.. fixed a motor mount and changed the brake sensor. Was good for about 1.5 weeks and it did it again a few days ago. Since the engine light doesn't stay on, I'm told they don't know exactly what it is. Everything we changed was in hopes of solving the issue, which it didn't. Even the dealership said without the engine light triggering a code they don't know what it could be. This is stressing me out. Do you think these messages can lead to something major? Like breaking down on the side of the road?
Your Acadia is designed to store fault codes even when the fault has passed like in your case where there is an intermittent failure. These are sometimes referred to as history codes. In your case, those stored codes may be useful in diagnosing the issue. It sounds like it could be as simple as someone left one of the plug wires loose, but it could also be a gasket beginning to fail, and many other possibilities. I would start with checking what you can easily check visually (plug wires, vacuum hoses) and definitely see what the stored codes are to get started.
I have a 2014 suburban that’s doing this. I disconnect the battery and everything goes away until I hit a decent bump. Could this still cause my problem.
If you're getting a dash warning, the vehicle is storing fault codes. It could be a loose wire on a wheel speed sensor, it could be a lot of things. If it were mine, I would pull the Engine (P-codes) and Chassis codes (C-codes). For those you'll need a reader able to read ABS issues. Let us know what fault codes you find and we can go from there.
Would this have the same effect on 2.9 in a 2009 Colorado?
It might. a lot of things can cause it. You'll want to start by pulling the fault codes like I did in the video. That will give you a direction to start for repairs. If you don't have a code reader, you might be able to borrow one from a local auto parts store.
I’m having this issue with my 2012 GMC Yukon it will come and go at times by itself or at times along with a check engine light. Any advice?
It likes you and it's giving you clues but still getting you to your destinations. An engine light can go. but it leaves behind a fault code in your 2012 Yukon. It could be many things including a coil beginning to fail. It should be recorded in the history fault codes. They will give some direction. Although it's likely engine related, it could be a speed sensor or drive train issue. So I would scan for both engine codes and chassis codes. You will need a reader able to scan ABS codes. Good luck with it and let us know what fault codes you find for engine and chassis.

It you're lucky, it could be a wheel speed sensor, a loose wire to a sensor or even as simple as a bad TPMS sensor. There are other possibilities relating to transmission and xfer case. You still need to pull the fault codes and go from there. You will need a code reader that can read Chassis or "C" codes. They are usually advertised as able to read and clear ABS codes. Good luck.

J Santa: I don't think there's a standard scheduled dash light for stabilitrak. If it were mine, I'd start by pulling codes (P and C codes) and go from there.

A cylinder misfiring can be pretty rough, even worse under acceleration.
Got same problem ,but no coil code...just random misfire code. Cylinder 4 is definitely showing the most misfire. Ive replaced plugs and wires multiple times and the coil to #4 just in case. Still have missfires?? Scratching my head...thinking ecm is bad??
MrRobertpappas: Good job replacing the plugs and wires and eliminating those as issues. What sign or symptom originally made you focus on cylinder 4 and is that symptom still present? Does the vehicle smoke? Was any work done preceding the misfire code? If you can access a handheld focused temperature sensor (they're quite inexpensive), you could check exhaust manifold temperature at each cylinder while the vehicle is running to help determine which cylinder(s) may be misfiring. If it is cylinder specific, it could also be a failing injector(s) or valve issues. If it turns out not to be cylinder specific, it could be general fuel delivery (fuel pump/filter) or even a Throttle Body/Mas Air issue causing the misfire code.
@@ScubaMoto my obd scanner shows #4 misfires a lot and #3 has a couple misfires too...but not as much as 4. I cleaned the throttle body out and put in a new mass flow sensor too. Truck never smoked until the misfires. This happened last year...new plugs and wires fixed it , until now. I did replace the oil pressure sensor just before this round of misfire.
MrRobertpappas: Good job eliminating MAFS and throttle body as issues. "Truck never smoked until the misfires." That one is still a chicken/egg symptom issue - either one could explain the other but it is likely a clue. Unless oil is getting into a combustion chamber, it won't necessarily generate smoke simply because it is not firing. But oil entering a combustion chamber (via valve seals/guides or failing head gasket) can quickly foul a spark plug to the point of causing misfire. I forgot to ask the vehicle and odometer mileage.
EDIT (and this is important) You said plugs and wires helped for a while. That combined with smoking further supports the likelihood that oil is getting into the combustion chamber and the spark plugs are eventually fouling out as a result. FWIW, the wires were probably fine but the plugs were fouling. You could test this by clearing codes, swapping plugs from the cylinders that are coding as misfiring (3 and 4) and see if the misfire code follows the plugs. If mine, I would proceed with the temp check diagnosis to try to identify cylinders and then move on to next steps including possible valve, injector/fuel related issues I mentioned above and perhaps even compression testing to further identify suspect cylinders. I hope that helps.

Doesn't sound like it. Any other warnings like ABS? Time to pull all the fault codes and go from there. Same here i got both lights on from the tcs and senbility no check engine ligth and one code i say emission related engine dtcs.what can be the problem i has a vibration sound when i drive just some times

What’s the difference between p 0353 and p0303 codes? Is one the coil and one the spark plug!?
Tee Rich: The P0353 is a coil fault and the P0303 is misfire caused by the faulty coil. Both identified as cylinder number 3. The process in the video actually confirmed that it was NOT the spark plug or the plug wire.
What if you have P0304 code as the only code and your stabilitrak, TC light comes on when rough idle…. 07 Tahoe 5.3L
Nola Mason: Same as the video but with a misfire in cylinder 4. P0304 means that your number 4 cylinder has failed to ignite enough times to generate the fault code. That is also causing your rough idle and probably greatly reduced power and fuel economy. I'll assume that the vehicle has over 150K miles, likely even more. The number 4 cylinder is the second one back on the right (passenger) side of the engine. Like in the video, you can check the plug wire to see if it is loose. It's probably a spark plug or a wire but I will list other possibilities with remedies. This misfire (failure to ignite) could be caused by:
1- Fowled combustion chamber that results from a failed valve seal, intake gasket or head gasket that is allowing oil and or coolant to enter the cylinder. - the vehicle would likely also smoke. - replace failed gaskets/seals.
2- Failed (Fowled) spark plug that could be related to number 1 above or just time - replace all 8 plugs
3- Failed spark plug wire. If it is factory original, then a 15 year life is better than expected - replace all 8 wires
4- it could still be a coil even though you may not be getting a coil code - replace failed coil
5- Failed fuel injector - Fuel injectors and coils usually generate their own fault codes but it is still possible. - you could replace a single failed injector but many would recommend a full set.
6-Some would say clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump but those would generate random misfire codes and possibly other codes. Your issue appears specific to cylinder number 4.
Step One: To confirm or rule out 2, 3 and 4 above; you can swap the components one at a time to an adjacent cylinder like I show with the coils in the video. Clear the code and re-start the vehicle. Again, one component at a time. If the cylinder code doesn't follow the swapped component, then that was not the problem.
Step Two: If you have ruled out 2,3 and 4 above then you can swap injectors to rule out number 5. Swapping injectors is a bit of work as you must detach the fuel rail.
Step Three: If you have ruled out 2 through 5, and if the vehicle smokes and only started smoking recently, then number one may be the issue. If your vehicle smokes; is it white (coolant in cylinder) or is it dark (oil in cylinder)? Is your coolant or oil level often low? You might see some oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. Dip a white paper towel into your coolant bottle and look for oil residue. Look inside your oil filler cap or at the dip stick for signs of coolant (milky brown oil). I hope this helps.

Is a 2008 chevy silverado,175,000 miles. It was giving me a cylinder 5 missfire, the stabilitrack off and traction controll and the engine light was flashing, while driving the triangle light for the stabilitrac would come off and if i stop on a light it would come back on, i changed spark plugs, wires ,coil, and still same problem. While in idle the rpm goes up and down just a little rough idle. Thanks for the fast reply
Joe Hernandez: So is the cylinder 5 misfire also the only fault code currently displayed or was it only one before the coil, wires and plugs. It helps to know exactly what fault codes are showing now. If it is the only one showing now then it could be injector or other issues with that cylinder like head gasket allowing coolant or oil to get into the combustion chamber. Does the truck smoke? I would suggest mass air or throttle body but they are less likely to consistently generate a misfire in a single cylinder. I'll assume it runs rough at idle and while cruising but please confirm what codes are currently reading and if the truck smokes.
Cylinder 5 is the only misfire before and after the spark plugs,coil,wire change. I put a new mass air and clean the throttle body and still no luck. Taking it to the mechanic. Thanks for all the help,great video ,i just subscribed to your channel.
Joe Hernandez: Before you spend money, you might want to swap the coils between cylinders 5 and 3 and see if the misfire follows the coil from 5 to 3. You could do the same with the spark plug and then the wire. It's free and it would rule out the 3 components.

Can you read C codes with this scanner?
Currently I have a Creader Vll+ but it doesn’t not read my airbag light codes or the stabilitrack and traction control error codes.
Tony Chavez: For the readers in the video, only the larger one can read and clear ABS (C-Codes). If a reader can read and clear ABS codes, it is almost certainly going to be advertised for the reader.

Greg Martinez: Does the car run okay? Any other issues, smoke, rough idle, loss of power? The fault code means the vehicle can no longer adjust the fuel air ratio in the cylinder bank 1 (driver's side) enough to correct it due to several possibilities that are probably what you think. It could be a vacuum leak caused by a cracked hose, a manifold leak, a faulty oxygen sensor giving a bad reading and it could be plugged injector(s). Check for vacuum leaks using starter fluid spray during idle. Since it's a bank fault, I would clear the code to see if and how it returns. If it returns the same code, I would clear it again and swap the o2 sensors from left to right and see if the code follows the sensors and becomes a P219B code (Air fuel imbalance cylinder Bank 2 - passenger side). If so, the o2 sensor was bad on the driver's side. So, I guess my money is the swap will reveal a bad o2 sensor on the driver's side. Let us know what you find. I hope that helps.

Greg Martinez: Plugged fuel injectors was on my original response to you but I still haven't heard what symptoms the vehicle has. You could do your own Techron fuel system flush and see if it helps. You have a fault code for one cylinder bank's air fuel ratio. That makes o2 sensors suspect and is why my original recommendation was to clear the code and see if and how it returns. Then rule out or identify faulty o2 sensors by swapping them. Those are zero cost diagnostics. If the dealer flushes the injectors and the code does not return then I am very happy for you. Hopefully they will charge a reasonable price. If the code does return, then they will have simply ruled out clogged injectors. Good luck working with them and I hope they resolve this for you.

And I'm guessing you're still getting the code. Good on you for scanning for all codes. The less than good is that a random misfire can be a lot of things. It could be a possible fuel delivery issue like a clogged fuel filter or a failing fuel pump. You might also want to clean your MAF sensor, I've seen that clear up misfire codes. Intake manifold gasket leaks can also cause random misfire codes. It's the same as a vacuum leak. If it's not smoking and the coolant and oil look okay, then the above list is likely to cover it. Fingers crossed your valve guides/seals and head gaskets are ok. You didn't mention mileage or symptoms.
A nice trick to rule out both vacuum leaks and intake manifold leaks (basically the same thing). Just because you can't hear it doesn't mean it's not there. Use a can of starter fluid to spray the perimeter of the intake manifold and ALL the vacuum hoses that are visible WHILE the vehicle is idling. If the idle changes at all while spraying, focus on those locations to find the vacuum leak. Good luck with it.
